Romance / Re: What Is The Ideal Age For A Girl/Lady To Get Married? by MexicanWolf: 5:44am On Sep 13, 2018
This is a rather stupid question. Girls, don't let anybody pressure you into getting married. Financial independence should be your goal, not marriage.

No, it's not. The age limit has no legal backing.
Adukey:

As in ehn, well we can't say maybe she got double promotion in primary school and sat for waec and jamb in ss2,anything is possible in Nigeria.

It's very possible she graduated sec school at 13,i knew someone that got into js1 at 8 and finished at 13,so it's possible. I don't know about she entering uni at 13 though, that's illegal.

Events / Re: Hon Jimi Benson Hosts CEO Of Foodclique At Icare Foodbank- End Hunger In Nigeria by MexicanWolf: 6:59am On Apr 12, 2018
It is easy to say teach them to fish. How long do you think the training would last when the students don't have food to eat? There are over 2000 food banks in the UK alone. That's a population of roughly 70 million people. We are almost 200 million. Even people with jobs in UK use food banks because by the time you pay rent and taxes you might not have money for food.

Hunger is different from poverty. The need to survive can make even the most honest man do crazy things.

A food bank goes beyond giving out food items. They also do training and some of them have micro-credit schemes to help people get back on their feet.

I have seen food poor families. It is never a pleasant experience to see children almost deformed by hunger. This man should be encouraged.

God willing I will start my own food bank soon.

Education / Re: JAMB Orders All Institutions To End 2017 Admissions January 25 by MexicanWolf: 11:19am On Jan 19, 2018
“By implication, candidates who have gained admissions into various institutions and are yet to register or do not have admissions by January 25 should begin to make preparations for the 2018 UTME."

This is beyond arrogant. I don't know what is wrong with us as a people. Obviously, the senate has backed down because of the billions and billions of naira that will be made from hapless students.

Why are parents not speaking up about this. I maintain that the validity period of the UTME result should not be less than 5 years.

Where are the parents? Where is Charly Boy? where is Dino Melaye? Where is the common sense senator?

Please don't buy any form for your child if he/she scored above 200 last year. We should fight this to the very end. This is extortion, daylight robbery.

Education / Re: JAMB Fixes Feb 6 As Deadline For UTME Registration by MexicanWolf: 10:37am On Jan 10, 2018
This is becoming more ridiculous by the day. Why is JAMB so much in a hurry to sell forms. Admissions are ongoing and I'm not sure every school will finish by February 6. JAMB should not be selling any forms now.

I ask again: What is the validity period of a UTME result? If you scored 200 and above don't buy any form until NASS and JAMB make a definitive pronouncement on this all important matter.

This complacency is shameful really, and we are all guilty. Last year, you were up at 4am at JAMB office trying to buy forms for your children. Your child managed to score 270 yet no admission.

This year you have started again. Where will it end?

Education / Re: JAMB Postpones UTME Mock Examination, 283,319 Registered For 2018 UTME So Far by MexicanWolf: 5:11pm On Jan 09, 2018
What is the Validity Period of a UTME result? Why isn't anyone asking this question? Why are we so complacent as a people?

Your son scored 300 in UTME last year but couldn't secure admission. You have gone ahead to buy the form again this year.

The only thing people are talking about is how much JAMB made last year and how much more it will make this year. JAMB has become a cash cow.

In my opinion, the validity period Of a UTME result should not be less than 5 years. Spaces are just so limited.

Which universities are going to admit the 2 million people JAMB wants to sell forms to. Yes, not everyone will pass. But we know thousands and thousands will be left stranded at the end, even with fantastic UTME scores.

Nobody who had 200+ last year should buy a UTME form this year. The National Assembly and JAMB have to clarify this all important issue.

The cost of the UTME form should be reduced as well. I see this emphasis on revenue generation as an ill wind.
