Martian:Na Lie!! |
My grandma doesn't like it when I go use left hand to eat and grab something. She threatens to smack my face well well if i go chop with or use left hand. I hate it when people chew loudly when they eat. I do not need to hear what your food sounds like. |
Man. Inspired by God. Like a secretary who types letters for her boss. |
Yeah. By means of our Adam sin spread to all mankind. And that why we die and are imperfect. Imperfection is why there are stillborn, diseases, etc. |
I say my cousin is Nigerian, period. At the end of the day she got to feel and believe that. |
I recently attended a funeral of a young girl that died. The preacher/pastor spoke in behalf of the child and so did many of her relatives. One thing I kept hearing from everyone saying that the little girl is now an angel with God; God needed another angel in heaven. Instead of comforting me it left a bitter taste in my mouth and left me wondering; if God is the creator of all things both in heaven and on earth why couldn't he just make another angel? Why does a young child have to die in order that God can have one more angel in heaven? Abeg, think about it. It sounds selfish on God's part. In reality God doesn't need us, we need him. It just puzzled me. I would have been satisfied if the people said something about unforeseen occurrences happens to everyone, thats life and imperfection. I have been hearing this statement all my life, but never thought about like this. Now I realize it just don't make sense. |
I am a little bit of everything. Both parents are of mixed tribes. I am just Nigerian. |
We need to worry about preservin our local languages. And stop trying to compete with american and british english. Why cant we just be original and do us. Accents, pidgin, slangs and all. There a time and place for everything. Formal and informal. When in naija speak as nigerians do! |
You give what you can and if you do not have it; well then you do not need to give. Giving is not compulsory. Don't go broke or hungry because of tithe. |
Tithe is so overrated and old fashioned. Giving is supposed to done out of love and generosity not out of compulsion. Abeg the man should keep his money! |
Beans with rice and stew. Or make a porridge, beans with plantain and cornbeef. |
Akamu is good. Just thicken it. Then add tin milk or unprepared bournvita. Put sugar. With a side of fried plaintain and akara. People must not know how to prepare it well well. Abeg I can give instruction. |
Congratulation. She is so beautiful! Just curious did you name your daughter after yourself? |
@006 So now there are rules to being African. LOL! Abeg, my dear my grandfather is 100% African. That can not be disputed. Colonial mentality is found all over Naija, not just in Rivers. If you have a English-speaking name you are a victim of it. If you change/shorten/respell your native name so that English speaking people can pronounce it easily you a victim of it. |
My granddad is a rivers man. Okrika to be exact. He tell us that the compound bearing his father last name became so large that he decided to change his last name. His fathers first name is samuel. So he change his last name to samuel. |
What ever happen to adoption? Naija dont go for that, abi? Better yet what ever to condoms and birth control? Commom sense tells you he you dont want kids dont spread your legs without protection. Okay I get off my pulpit. |
Tradition my foot! Tradition does not forbid showing empathy. His plan didnt work so he ditch you. |
My condolences on your loss. That something you have to decide on a personal level. You and your spouse decision. Personally, I cannot name my child after his/her late sibling. It too close. Each child is unique, special, and irreplaceable. And I fear that my child will try to live vicariously through her late sibling. I also would not be able to properly move on because it will like I had my deceased child all over again. Much blessing on your new child. |
Instead of being biblical about it, let just say, if a women were to be a part of wedding party or was invited to a formal she should wear a Skirt or a dress. So if should a women should go to church she should wear a skirt or a dress. Church is considered formal. |
it sort of like cooking egusi soup just without the egusi. It a good soup to cook if you dont have a lot of time. Ingredients: Meat Grounded ogbono Greens Dry fish Crayfish Grounded pepper and salt Vegetable oil okra Simply season and cook your meat (goat beef Kanda shaki) for 15 to 20 minutes then add your dry fish, if desire, and cook for another 10 minutes. In a separate pot fry your grounded ogbono in vegetable oil for a few minutes then add water ( or use the stock from the meat) gradually the goal is make sure the ogbono is smooth. Once the ogbono start to boil it ready. To prevent it from sticking cook on low heat and stir constantly. Add the ogboono to your meat mixture along with okra, crayfish (dry shrimp) and allow it to cook for a few minutes afterward add your greens ( bitterleaf, ugwu, spinach), and let it boil until vegetable is tender. Season according to taste. Serve with fufu. * I personally dont add greens to my soup, maybe a little ugwu here and there for flavor, but the okra I got to have* |
Neither is it said that christ died on a cross. |
Agree. Hell in the heart of the earth, as in SIX FEET UNDER. Come on now jesus went to hell? What a perfect and upright person doing in place ment for unrepented sinners? Jesus went to hell as in mankind common grave and was ressurected after three days. Simple. |
It the same. Jesus or christ. See this what happen when people read too much yet do not reason. |
Reasons are plenty. Stress pregnancy and life in general. Metabolism slows down as you get older. But honestly if there no motivation or reason to lose weight why would a women bother. Must men would not say anything about their women weight until it get out of hand. Then theres problem and it becomes more difficult to lose weight. I say nip it in the bud in the beginning of marriage. Discuss weight and what make one appealing to the other. Then both of them work it out at the same time recognizing limitations. If I ever get married I say to my husband I didnt marry you with a pot belly so I dont expect you to grow one. |
Ada. Mama 2. I am the oldest girl. |
Lie lie! I drink garri or eat it with salt a least twice a day. Nothing has happen to me. |
Very confused and annoyed for it was a older guy that toasted me. Since then I am always toasted by a older man. Drives me insane. |
so let me rephrase my answer. @Seun Thanks for the offer babe, but right now I am content. Hey who know what the the future holds if I get tired of being call Ms. No Husband I'll give you a ring. Heck, if you ever get anxious their are a lot of girls that will gladly accept your proposal. ![]() Being the first Child in your family . . . . . |
@Seun Thanks for the offer. But I think I'll pass. |
It the things people do in the name of religion. It the fact that many religion promotes hatred , materialisms, selfishness etc instead of love, peace, etc. It the fact that many are lead by man guidance. Man who himself is imperfect. Yet people cling to this guidance without questioning without doubts. |
1.Finishing school ( secondary, university) 2. Moving out of my parent's house and getting my own place 3. Being in love and having my first heartbreak |
It great but not easy. I am the oldest girl and not married but my younger sister is. And boy do I get the insults rained on me. My mom tells me i am not setting a good example by not getting married. Older women say that I should be ashamed of myself because my younger sister has married before me. When i was younger and mommy was not home I become the second mama. I have to be the responsible one. I set the example for others to follow, and when my younger one do wrong it 90% because I am not setting the example. But I love it I usually do everything first and don't have to be label "follow follow" like my younger ones. No hand-me-downs! |
