PoliticsRe: No Ethnically Homogenous City In Nigeria Has Ever Prospered by Mgbadike80: 11:44am On Nov 13, 2012
yes. dont let home town sentiment block your judgement, Onitcha is a complete mess and if you're content with it's condition that one is your own.
It's a great city and i wouldn't have mentioned it if it wasn't tiers above others in nigeria, but its problems are very evident
onitsha ado is not perfect but it's far better than most of the one street cities with only a fraction of it's population. Look at minna, suleja, gwagwcrada etc, are they not far more dirty, disorganized and crime prone than onitsha? U have to compare d population and function of onitsha b4 such a hash statement. Peter obi is trying to put onitsha in place without making anybody feel excluded. Do u realise that d easiest way to clean onitsha is to send back most ppl from ebonyi? And that would defeat our aim of making her a home for all. Also saying that non indigenes don't see it as a home is outlandish. I'm not an indigene but i was born & bred there, and knows no other home than there. That is the general mentality in the metropolis. Even d ppl occupying d political positions are not indigenes. I know in 1999, the man that represented the head bridge was an hausa man.
the natives of Onitcha aren't the majority, most people are from elsewhere trying to do business and regard the place as a place to be used not cherished. They behave wrecklessly and the level of activity is so high that even responsible government (which anambra has historically lacked) has a hard time keeping track
kitikpa gbagbuo gi. My own onitsha is wreckless and lack good governance?

If this happened in d east, this thread would make frontpage from d op and d moderators would standby as d yorubas unleash tribal attacks. Anyway my igbo brothers. Let not trouble them. @lastpage and ilugunboy, so the onus of ur arguments is that since nairaland belongs to a yoruba, u guys have d right to behave as u wish? And if don't like it, then we should leave? And moderators let that stand? Ha ha i reserve my comments, especially to the moderators. Ndi igbo si na nwata na eje ogu oturukpokpo, ekwo kakwa ya akaa. Gba chere anyi na afo na abịa nu

@tbaba, so shooting down marked red cross air planes was an attempt to stop arms smuggling? Anyway i could see that most posters have veered off topic. So i guess this is where i unfollow the thread. Egwuregwu banye na nke ụmụazi, onye nwe nkita agboro nkita ya naba.

tbaba1234: Finished Achebe's book, It is overall a good read, a number of great points but there are also a number of half-truths.
my dear what u termed have truths are absolute truths which have already been discussed and proven beyond every reasonable doubt here. I can't stand the boredom of repeating those arguments here so i would advice to stick to reading old threads to learn more. Also some of your points show that u really know little about what transpired then but thanks for given the book good points with out much tribalistic prejudice. I'm still waiting for it to be available in d market here.

truth4meal: The only group "BILIE" who dare seek the intervention of the International Criminal Court Prosecutor said nothing of the allege Civil war pogrom - the question is WHO IS SCARED OF ICC?

http://www.bilie.org/ICCRelease.aspx
for your information boko haram attacks have already been listed by d ICC as crimes against humanity with the chief prosecutor visiting nigeria. Civil war genocide might follow soon. But the question for u is would it make nigeria more united?
PoliticsRe: Achebe Wrote Out Of Ignorance - Gowon by Mgbadike80: 10:35am On Oct 28, 2012
nagoma: At least Gowon was honest enough to say what he was doing was war. We have not been informed by the Reterdeen that he is waging a war on Muslims. Perhaps you can encourage him to be honest, then we may not complain.
u entered this thread singing a tune that says d biafran genocide was justified but now ur singing a different tune cos the victims are muslims. So u see it's all a matter of principle. By the way, i'm very aware of how boko haram started, blame it on the former borno state governor not GEJ , if nigeria had d right principles, that man would not have dared to unleash such unneedless violence on boko haram. But since the psyche of this nation have been altered by d biafran war experience, then to him, all is fair in war. Mind u, both the ex governor and the military/police commanders were all muslims/northerners. What goes around, turns around. Let's hope our generation would change the face of this nation for the better. As for those calling for hague, would it promote peace or more bloodshed? I'm just thinking out loud.

Prof Corruption: Communal clashes are quite different from war. Igbo kill Igbo too. Agunleri comes to mind.

We are talking war crimes here.
just last night, d BBC announced that the ICJ chief investigator is in kenya over the communal violence that occured after the 2008 general elections. War crime is war crime be it between nations or communities. Like i said earlier u the black man is ur own greatest enemy
Prof Corruption: @alxmyr, posting is not by force if u don't have anything reasonable to say, pls shut up. This thread is 4 mature and informed minds of all tribes, religion and orientation to share and learn from each other not for ur type of comments.

nagoma: War is not a football game.
my dear yet u groan, cry and wail when federal troops engage on unwanton destruction of muslim lives and properties in maidugri, u cry when others show their happiness with the death of innocent muslims in the hands of our security forces. Yet u justify d same to be meted out to other tribes. U see while all this is a matter of principle. It's not about taking a man near his death bed to the hague but preventing future re occurrences. The black man is his own greatest enemy.

Time up. The voting is over, when would we be expecting d results. @Yoruba, the main point is that he should have done that before not during or after. Anyway d complainer accepted d verdict in good faith so don't stir up things for us. Whenever ur in onitsha, hara me 4 ur observer fee of isi ewu and nkwu enu kara aka for a job well done. I like ur mature though comical approach. It shows we still have hope for this nation.

@mr globe, if u had followed this from d nomination stage, u would have discovered then was d appropriate time to object to candidate nomination. Okija nomination was opposed by 5 ppl before he was disqualified while even more opposed him after disqualification but not even one person opposed ogugua so it's not pointb fault. I was d first person that opposed her nomination on d voting thread, but it was not to have her disqualified but to guide voters. The only way she could be disqualified now is through the tribunal after election. So pls maintain d peace biko nwanne m

PoliticsRe: Eze Ndi Igbo Election 2012 - And the winner is ... by Mgbadike80: 6:29pm On Oct 24, 2012
@the electoral team, i have noticed that many outsiders are trying to influence d vote to favour odumchi and ogugua cos because they believe that odumchi is more level headed and easier to intimidate while ogugua have never been to nigeria and therefore have no knowledge of d intense rivalry and bad blood involved between d tribes.she can easily be misled 2 misyarn.
