What i still don't get is why You will go to war and fight a people who collectively decide to secede. Why?? Except if you know you can't survive without them. |
How will this resolve any problem now?? I think the President should fire that minister of Health Guy- Onyebuchi Chukwu,he's totally incompetent, and he has shown it severally. This Ebola virus epidemic started some several months back in some countries, yet no strident measures were put in place to equip our hospitals and prepare our health workers adequately. Even when the disease started spreading in other countries, they still couldn't checkmate movements and people in our airports, until the Liberian Mr Sawyer successfully 'delivered' the virus to the country. Even at that, the man has refused to quarantine all those who had contact with the Nurse who handled the Liberian, saying that he placed them under ''surveillance'' and has asked them to ''report'' if they notice anything. I simply wonder what kind of method is that.....It simply depicts unseriousness, recklessness and total disregard of Nigerians. Infact,a serious and proactive Government would have resolved this Doctors/other health workers issue a long time ago. I'm totally disappointed with the situation on ground. This is a big minus to the administration of GEJ. |
Good one from Afenifere. Imagine blackmailing the presidency with the Chibok issue?? Some of these northern elites are so power drunk that they can do practically anything- including sacrificing their own people to seize power. Infact,i think it behoves on every Nigerian to save Nigerians and in particular the northern ordinary masses from these power-drunk marauding elites. |
Arsenal-the club where beautiful soccer is played. Arsenal-the club where legends are nurtured from infancy to maturity. Arsenal-the club which is a home and family to all;whites, blacks or mixed. Arsenal- the club of the ''invincibles''. Arsenal-my club,''my first and only love''. Up Gunners!!! |
I don't care about the se.xual needs of the widows- they can handle that if they really want to. My concern lies in their financial needs;coping alone with the burden of the family. This is why i think widows should be payed monthly stipends to help alleviate their burden and suffering. |

Nothing wey person no go see! Which one come be Fufu again for campaign? Weird...very weird. |
The rate at which Anambra state is going,it might very well become one of the best states in the whole Africa in terms of development. A state can't have 2 performing Governors consecutively, with well-thought out visions and plans and you tell me they aren't taking positive strides. Good Job Obiano. I pray the tempo is sustained. |
This thread doesn't worth my comment.... I just pity Osun state that allow herself to be associated and tainted and ridiculed by a group such as Osun defenders and the brai.nless OP. |
He has suddenly become humble... |
garyaustin: Please let's choose our words carefully. The high Chief should be respected. I carried out extensive research and discovered that the Igboman has a lot in common with the Jews to suggest he is a Jew. I want to concentrate on Hebrew words that mean the same thing in Igbo language. 1 remove consonants from some Hebrew words, you will. get the same meaning in Igbo language. eg Bethel; remove th and you have Be El which means house of El in both languages. 2 Kolu means voice or neck in Hebrew. remove the consonant k and you are left with Olu which means voice or neck in Igbo. other words are ADA first daughter in Igbo, MAZ Hebrew, MAZI Igbo meaning Mister in both languages. JEREMIAH means who will go for me? Igbo says 'je re m ya' meaning Go for me. ISAIAH means he has answered. Igbo says I za ya meaning you have answered him or her. I can write a whole book on that. Next time I have the chance, I shall write on cultural similarities.Broda,i find this interesting. May i know more on those language similarities? |
I feel the Nigerian doctors are being totally childish and unreasonable with their demands on this strike. Why would they go on strike just because they don't want others like the nurses and pharmacists to be consultants in hospitals, and because they want to be directors in a health facility? In developed worlds, they have nurse consultants and pharmacist consultants as well, and their duties are well defined. Just imagine a scenario (as it usually happens in our health system),whereby a nurse or pharmacist who has been in a particular hospital for a long time, and then a fresh 'youth copper' doctor gets posted to that particular hospital and would want to start lording it over the nurse or the pharmacist. It just doesn't make sense. What the doctors should be concerned about should be proper regulation and structuring of duties/jobs in health facilities so that there wouldn't be Job interference and clashes among the different health practitioners in the health system...That said, the overall goal should be the proper care of patients...Anybody who's qualified can be a consultant or director;be it nurse, pharmacist or doctor. Nobody should stop anybody from advancing in his/her chosen field. The health system is not the exclusive preserve of the doctors. |
Sweetlemon: One question please. You see how dum.b you are? This how you go about writing and talking complete off-points after smoking your usual junk...can't you just shut it if you have nothing reasonable to contribute? How's this thread about the Igbos?? |

I keep on asking my self why some elements in this nation are bent on running the country aground.why? Does it mean they have gone completely deaf to the wide cries of the needed positive change by the masses?or blind to the overwhelming poverty and hardship across the nation? Or is it not a shame that other nations are marking highlight developments while Nigeria is still battling below average? Since when did saying the truth publicly become a crime in any sane society? And yet we all clamour for accountability by public office holders....Nigerians,why? Why?? |
....Yet some folks will come shamelessly and be screaming that the G.E.J Led administration is not performing...how pretentious can this folks be? |
I've being following this discussion somewhat anonymously from page one,and i must say that i've learnt a great deal from the points of the two parties. It's simply amazing how much truths that can be gleaned from the word of God,when someone searches for it open-mindedly.That's why i must commend Frosbel,Truthislight ,Rabzy &co,for doing a great job in defending their stance convincingly. You see brethren,God gave us brain/knowledge for us to actually use it.Infact he charges us to be ''as wise as the serpent'',and at other point in the bible,he told us to ''test all spirits''.we shouldn't just swallow anything we're told hook, line and sinker just because it's a popular notion,or because of Religion Dogmas.we should learn to seek God individually, with the simplicity of our hearts, and unbias, for indeed it's a personal race. Finally, consider the words of the master himself,''And no one has ever gone up to heaven except the son of Man,who came down from heaven''.-John 3:13. And also these, concerning the love of God,''would any of you who are fathers give your son a stone when he asks for bread?10.Or would you give him a snake when he asks for a fish?11.Bad as you are,you know how to give good things to your children. How much more, then, will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!''-Mt 7:9-11. Ask yourself brethren, whose report you should believe.Peace. |
FFK at it again! Inciting the masses and trying desperately to gain cheap relevance...you've never seen any good deed by this present administration in your own jaundiced view. How more ilogical can this sound!Because of an internal Fracas in the NGF,Goodluck Jonathan will then try to devide the nation come 2015! Ridiculous! Arm-chair-analysis as always! |
Nice and easy read...interesting choice of words...promising. |
Pls enough of all these conspiracy theories! How absurd can these arm-chair analysis sound! Here we hv two young men who some people hv known for long before these their unspeakable acts, who obviously knew the full import of their actions even before committing them nd yet they went ahead nd did same, and this Femi-kayode man is trying 2 hold brief 4 them...Mr Femi,u sit in d comfort of ur home and make unrealistic insinuations that these young men and those ones who carried out d Boston bombings, were hypnotized or something much more absurd, forgetting that are other extrimists in other places like Syria,Somalia,Afghan and even in ur home country Nigeria, who do similar thing almost on a daily basis...how abt them? Were they also hypnotized into these acts as u so cheaply put it? These people who do these acts are nothing more than brainwashed individuals, who hv allowed hate 2 consume them.stop alluding their indispicable acts 2 some government conspiracy,or moreso 2 some iluminati bullsh..t! Afterall nobody held guns 2 their heads nd forced them 2 committ these acts. Besides, none of them hs in anyway claimed that they were induced by anybody 2 do these things..stop holding brief 4 them! People shld knw dt dis is d 21st century and they shld start accepting responsibility 4 their actions-good or bad! |
Now Nigerians! This is how to mourn a hero! |
caustical: Story of the sons of gorillayou try so hard to sound intelligent, but you end up sounding so pathetically ignorant.... I advice you my friend,go and acquire education. |
0lumide: I can't seem to be able to find one thing Achebe achieved as one of "African intellectual".There are times i wonder how some people reason and talk....when will you shun this kind of ethnic hatred that has eaten deep into your system? You cry and whine everyday for a 'One Nigeria',yet you can not let this shameful act of tribalism leave you...Here was a man, whom the whole world is mourning his death, because of his contributions to the world in general...Do you know how many men all over the world he inspired with his book "Things fall apart"? Can you start counting the many people he helped to appreciate literature all over the world? Young men and women who still look at his works till this very day for research purposes and direction? This man spoke the truth on government issues even till his last days. Truths some of you would have preferred hidden. He spoke out against the ills in the nation,on behalf of all Nigerians, not just for the Ibos as some of you would mischieviously like to project...Some of you who condemn him now at his death, would hypocritically have your children, even your children children benefit from his books...How can we move the nation forward with this kind of attitude? I advice Nigerians, especially our youths, shun this ethnic sentiments that have continued to pull us down as a nation, and embrace the true spirit of oneness...let's learn to respect our heroes and what they stood/stand for,for there lies the true greatness of a nation. peace. |
