Aguero missed loads in our last few games. Will you say Aguero is not match fit? It happens. Even Tevez and Ronaldo De Lima miss chances. Heck even Messi and CR7 miss close range chances. the point is that he was scoring in training and missing easy chances in the real game. that is one of the effects of lack of game time. it is called lack of confidence |

Kog45: Hope u remember Atlanta 96,Nigeria vs Brazil.Pls go and watch d match again and tell me Kanu's performance in that match.
kanu had a quiet game in greater part of d match but when it reached certain stage Kanu came alive with two great magical moment and two goals that nailed Brazil.
After d match he was given man of d match coz d two goals were massive and we got it at d needed time.
My man w u say Kanu had a poor game coz he was quiet for like 70 mins of d match.
What make a player is not about running up and down for 90 mins alone but sometimes a magical moment when a player need to lift his team.
Kanu did it against Brazil and Uzoenyi did it against Morocco,d two brought a dead team alive again coz at that moment nobody gives Nigeria any chance again, sorry for comparison. there is a great difference between poor and quiet game. Kanu had a quiet game yes but not a poor game. Ejike Uzoenyi had a poor game for the most part of the match, that's the difference. |

goldfish80: Ejike scored at the dot of the 90th minute to push it to extra time. The whole team had a shocking first half where Morocco lead 3-0. They came back in the second half and replied all 3 goals and pushed the game to extra time. You don't have to resort to lies to make your point. I will always expose them. Lying to ourselves won't help anybody. so does that mean that he wasn't poor for 60-70 mins of the 90 minutes? Which one is a lie? |

goldfish80: Yes, you're so correct. Uzoenyi who scored twice against Morocco, one of the goals came from his weaker foot outside the penalty box had a shockingly bad game. When you put off your rose tinted shade I will come back and have a discussion with you. so you will ignore the fact that he was bad for more than 70% of the game? Do you think that such comebacks happen everyday? Let's look at it critically, he was poor for like 60-70 mins out of 90, that means he was poor |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Mickael2(m): 3:18pm On Mar 19, 2017 |
goldfish80: You even admitted from your second paragraph Rohr didn't invite any left footed attacker. That's an indictment on its own to the sermon you're preaching. Am telling you Ovoke is a very cultured leftie and in Rohr's list no left footer was invited and you're talking about who he will replace? These random statements you guys throw around is quite shocking sometimes. From the much I've seen of Ovoke, he's an all round attacking weapon. I've seen him play behind the striker and on both wings.
You talked about Chisom Egbuchulam scoring easy goals owing to poor defending. That's a big lie on its own. You can only use this to confuse people who didn't watch the super 4. He scored one of the goals against Rivers Utd outside the penalty area! You find fault in such a goal but celebrate easy tap ins Kelechi scores fo Man city. If this isn't hypocritical, I don't know what it is. Onyekuru have scored goals from comical defending in Belgium this seaon. Pull out videos of Onyekuru's goals let's discet it. Am laying down a marker here. You will be met with a rude shock like you did when I told you about Ndidi's poor positioning.
You talk about Uzoenyi. You may have forgotten he was named man of the match twice in the qualifiers of the Nations cup in South Africa? If he was such a bad player I don't think he would have shone like he did in the nations cup qualifiers and at the Chan proper. You have to first of all understand what I typed before you start replying next time. So Rohr didn't invite any left-footed player, that means he doesn't need one. Bazee is left-footed, he plays as an inverted attacking midfielder, I see him replacing Iwobi during the match but that's by the way, the point is that the formation determines who gets invited. Ok so now we have Bazee and Iwobi playing as the two LMFs for that match, will he bench either of them? Absolutely not. So is he now going to replace Musa who is a right-footed player and the assistant captain of the team? Or will he replace Moses Simon who plays on the right exclusively? You are now telling me that he can play with any part of his body comfortable, I am left wondering why he is in the NPFL? The kind of exaggeration in that your statement is almost criminal. Or will he now replace the strikers too? We don't play with any supporting striker except if you mean that he can also play as the AMF? So he can play RMF, LMF, SS, AMF and CS?! Wow!!! Yes! It was against Rivers united when he scored from virtually the corner of the box, the defenders were shocking, to make matters worse the goalkeeper was standing very close to that far post yet when the ball came he let it pass straight through! My friend pointed out after the game that the match was fixed, he actually scored two goals like that on the day in question. Have you ever seen me celebrating Iheanacho's tapins? You must be mistaking me for someone else. Even then his movements off the ball against top defenders is what makes his tapins better than the goals Chisom scores. Have you ever seen me clamoring for Onyekuru's inclusion? Or are you also saying that Adi(who I actually made reference to)only scores because of comical defending in the MLS? I can't remember giving in to your ridiculous claim that Ndidi is always caught out of position, if I remember well enough you disappeared in the middle of the argument,by the way have you been watching their matches recently? Sevilla? West ham? Go and check his position again. Which of the afcon qualifiers was Uzoenyi named man of the match? Let me guess, Chad or a country worse than that, so what happened when the real teams came to town? If I remember correctly against Morocco he was poor, forget the fact that we came back from 3 goals down he was poor, and in the semifinal he was even worse, like I said when they face top quality opposition they tend to buckle, against Bosnia for example, he played for up to 20 minutes, did absolutely nothing. |

goldfish80: Stephen Odeh has been scoring all kinds of goals this season against almost every team he has played against. Scoring with his Left foot, right foot, head tells me he has little weakness to his game. Bernard Ovoke at Rivers Utd can also make the squad. He proved his quality last season and so far this season he has been quality. He's left footed with low centre gravity who can get past people and create dangerous moments in the final 3rd. He was the 2nd best player last season behind Chisom Egbuchulam if I were to rate. Take a look at Rohr's team to these friendlies, I noticed Iwobi was the only creative midfielder called up. In my opinion, I think Obinna Nwobodo can stake a claim in this team going by what he brings to the table.
These three names I mentioned are qualified to make this team if given the ground was level. I don't need the verdict of a scout from Gent to know these guys are good players. it's not just about inviting every eligible player, no matter how good they are. Ok look at that list again, you pointed out that Ovoke is left footed, I would assume that he plays as a LMF no? Who will he replace, like for like, in that list? Who are the left footed midfielders we invited? Or do you want the coach to invite all the left-footed players we have just because they are all good? Except if we are playing an inverted winger on the right it won't work, not to mention that we don't even play with wingers anymore, just outright midfielders so you see that the formation has ruled out his own involvement. I have watched Odeh, he scores goals I agree(against NPFL defenders and goalkeepers, GREAT, but still...), what else does he bring to the table? Don't just base your arguments on highlights but watch the real games, 90 complete minutes and you will see. There is ABSOLUTELY no way you can tell me that he is better than....Adi and Adi isn't even on the team list! So Adi will come first before him, do you see his position? Ejike Uzoenyi's case should have taught you something about creativity in Nigerian leagues. Poor defenders who are almost always out of position, it obviously makes it easier to thread a good pass every now and then but when he comes up against...Kouyate or even Kone of Burkina Faso who aren't going to move out of position, he falls FLAT! It happened against Ghana at the Chan 2014 too, we all saw it. Forget this your claim about NPFL players being talented, they just aren't playing against the best, you consider that before you invite them. I remember watching the super four, Rangers against one team like that, if you see the ridiculous goals Chisom was scoring, you'd be left wondering where are the defenders?! What is the goalkeeper doing?! For you, you might be enjoying the show thinking he is great, but next time you see a fantastic goal in the NPFL check other variables concerned. I don't like talking about the NPFL like this but they do not deserve a spot, especially not now that we have a lot of young talents that we want to snatch from other countries who will definetly occupy the vacant positions in our team list |

TheGoodJoe: Luis Suárez’s dive exposes Barcelona’s cheating, amid the celebrations The notion of the club’s revival against PSG being special is undermined by their players tumbling. The message? When things get tough, keep conning officials
If the awarding of Barcelona’s first penalty of the night was dubious, Thomas Meunier committing the apparently fatal sin of falling over with Neymar in close proximity, the hosts’ second, which fuelled the fairytale, represented a blatant act of cheating.
Consider this scenario: that Luis Suárez threw himself to the floor in the manner he did after darting in front of Marquinhos when playing, instead, in a key international against England. No odds can be offered that we would have heard plenty more about it, either in immediate post-match analysis or now that the dust has almost settled. In this instance? People are willing, just about, to cite “controversy”. It is Barcelona, they are brilliant, fresh parameters apply.
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/mar/09/luis-suarez-dive-barcelona-cheating-psg you do understand that Suarez was clean through on goal when he was pulled down? When you are the last man you should not make any illegal contact, besides let me ask, has UEFA come out to condemn the ref openly? No! Why penalty, beats my imagination. what do you mean no intention? Look at the replays again, he was falling down yes, but instead of him to fall, he was trying to get his body in the way. Neymar on his own part did try to get to the ball and when he saw that he couldn't, he hooked Munier and fell down. That one is as clear as daylight, you can't be protecting the ball when you are lying down |

Reports in Spain suggest Deniz Aytekin may be removed from Champions League duty after making controversial calls in a 6-1 thriller at Camp Nou
The man at the centre of Barcelona’s remarkable comeback against Paris Saint-Germain, Deniz Aytekin, may have taken charge of his last Champions League game this season, according to Marca.
The German referee made a controversial late call at Camp Nou on Wednesday which allowed Barca to complete their stunning 6-1 fightback.
http://m.goal.com/s/en-us/news/55/main/2017/03/11/33518362/barcelona-vs-psg-referee-facing-uefa-demotion?utm_referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2Fm%3Fq%3Dreferee%2Bmarca%2Bbarcelona%2Bpsg
As for me, those two penalty calls were too wrong and I do not blame anyone who accuses the referee of premeditated bias. cry me a river. Who exactly wrote that report? It was written by Marca, a Madrid based newspaper, it was rubbished officially by UEFA. The first penalty was a clear penalty, how can you stay on the ground and be interfering with a goalscoring oppurtunity? The first one isn't even what people are complaining about. The second penalty was a soft penalty no doubt but there was contact, look closely at the play again, the defender has his hands on Suarez who made the most of it I agree, and wasn't looking at the ball which is illegal contact though not enough for a penalty of that magnitude but based on the ref's position nobody can blame him. I maintain, there was absolutely no bias in that game |

BascoVanVeli: How can u say Ronaldo would never do something, did Zidane ever score over 60 goals for Madrid in a season. Maradona did cocaine which is not a performance enhancing drug. Football would be dull to think that the culture of steriods didn't exist in the sport. U cannot tell me that u know all football players have been clean with wat we know about other sports. Fact is FIFA was slow to act on any doping for a long time. that is all you worry about isn't it? Ok Bro, go and compare CR7's stats to that of Gerd Muller and Van Basten, CR7 doesn't even come close. The traits that define a great player isn't only the ability to score a lot of goals. For the past 6 seasons Ronaldo has been scoring goals consistently I agree, but has he been beating opposing defenders consistently? His dribbling stats are worse than that of....Kante! His key passes per 90 minute is very low, these are things that Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Zidane did consistently week in week out. Granted Ronaldo is AMONG the best goalscorers in the world(Romario and Muller are stil better than him in that aspect)but he is in way among the best ever. How many Balon d'ors did Gerd Muller win? None, but he was consistently the highest goalscorer year in year out, that was because back then people came to watch good football, not just the win-at-all-cost mentality that we see here. CR7 in the 80s, 90s or even early 2000s MIGHT have only won one Balon D'or, the one he won in 2008 was quite deserved on all fronts(that's assuming the other players back then weren't in top form), stop counting goals alone, look at it from separate angles |

goldfish80: You're talking like someone who doesn't know Wilfred Ndidi's position. Do you really have to see the formation to know which position Ndidi plays for Genk? Just admit it, you've not watched Ndidi that much. Because if you have, you will not doubt his short comings which is maintaining position and concentration levels. Nobody has it all.
Your tirade everytime on Onazi is totally unfair. Your point of view that he's always out of position is an over stretch and sometimes bordering on a myth. I have told you time and time again that no professional footballer plays only one single position hence the need to look at the formation and watch the first 30 mins of the game atleast. Messi is a RWF naturally but most times he shifts to the AMF position, I can just show you some highlights and you'd be like 'Messi is always out of position', but then if you watch the game you'd know that it's a tactical plan, it doesn't mean that Messi is no longer the RWF it just means that he is a hybrid. So because you know Ndidi's preferred position doesn't mean that he can't be directed by the coach to play as a hybrid. Granted, I think I have watched like 20 of his games(minus the ones he has played for leicester) and he was hardly ever out of position, maybe like once in 3 games. I have watched even less of Onazi's games(including the ones he has played for the Eagles) and he always gets caught out of position atleast once per game. I have said it time and time again that Onazi and Ndidi can play together, Ndidi as the sitting DMF and Onazi the roaming DMF/midfield destroyer, I have no problem with that but Etebo is already occupying that position for us and if it comes to the DMF position solely, Ndidi takes it home for me |
