Abeg who is that our best striker? You know we are still shopping for more striking options.
On current form, Adi is better than him. On current form, Onyekuru is better than him(though he plays mostly from the wings but still)

Young players metamorphose.

These players have a career path. There is a career progression. Coaches typically tie-into the career path or progression of these players. It helps the player progress better.

Ndidi started off as defender and is today a DM.
Iheanacho started as an AM/WF and today a striker, Ahmed Musa started as a striker and today a winger/ss. Observe that coaches have followed along the new career paths of these players.

It helps the players adopt more quickly as d national team most often have barely 2-3days to bond and blend.

Success is now a WF so why should Rohr play him a CF. Iheanacho is the best striker we currently have.
He is the best striker we have in our camp right now, not the best striker we have. I disagree

How many goals did we concede when Yobo held sway in the run up to the Afcon gold medal?
At the top of my head I recall we only conceded one goal (a penalty gift from the ref) in the group stage against Zambia.
How exactly did we get better when Yobo was replaced?
you see? You will make bias comments just to support your claim. Did we just drop Yobo like that? It was because he wasn't performing well. Or are you trying to imply that Yobo's exclusion from the team didn't improve our overall team play?

Anyways, the little thing I wanted to point out is the fact that Onazi isn't a good CMF. I remember you said that we can play a midfield combo of Ndidi and Onazi with Onazi as the CMF because according to you he played the CMF well against Algeria, but that is a big NO. Onazi is far from a good CMF, his best position is the DMF and he should remain there, now that he can't even hold sway in the DMF position, well I fear for him.

Ndidi great guy but on Onazi d guy had good 25 mins b4 d injury,so what are u saying coz we want healthy rivalry in d team not pulling one down and praising d other syndrome.
nop, Onazi had something that was very far from a good game. He was average I agree, which is why I said he didn't have such a good game. My only annoyance is that goldfish was actually arguing that Onazi is better than Ndidi which is funny to say the least

I've read through some minute by minute account of the game from various sources and from what I gathered Onazi was heralded for playing a captain's game till he got injured.
You're not doing your reputation any good with some biased and prejudiced comments you've been making over the last few days.
what is your definition of a captain's game? Yobo used to play a captain game but when we replaced him during the Afcon we got better.

Thanks a lot. This is the most comprehensive summary I've read so far.
How good was Akpeyi in goal? Was he culpable for the goal conceded?
From your report, Iwobi had another poor game. That's two games in a row he has been poor for the super eagles. I don't think it's right making excuses for him, sentiments aside. If he had a poor game, he had a poor game.
He plays week in week out against rough, rugged and raw teams like STOKE and Burnley in bruising conditions in the premiership.
guess who had a good game...why Ndidi of Course grin

guess who didn't have such a good game....why Onazi of coursegrin

lol...so because he scored two goals in a match in the world cup, he deserves a constant spot in the team?

Even Goetze that scored Germany's winner at the finals is struggling to keep his place in same team. Mba that won us AFCON with his goal hasn't featured for the team in 3 years. So, why should Musa have a permanent spot?

Na all this sentimental BS dey make Naija coaches field yeye teams mostly

Football is not played with emotions, anybody is expendable, Rohr is not indebted to anybody and neither is Nigeria. The two goals Musa scored na only for am, it did not put Nigeria on any pedestal in world football, it boosted his CV, but e no even affect our FIFA ranking

Maybe if he had scored the goal to take us to a World Cup Semi-final, we would keep him in the team till he's ready to leave
this is the exact same thing destroying all the sectors of the Nigerian economy. you see a doctor with a surgery success rate of well below 60% but because he carried out a successful heart surgery almost 20 years ago he will still be the leader of the team. makes absolutely zero sense

den who is?
as at now I think he actually is, but if we could possibly use a right footed player there it would be better. Iwobi would be better off playing in the middle where all he has to do is make sure the ball is moving

Success has played on the left in Granada and Watford.
as an inverted winger, not as the LMf. we do not use wingers in our current formation and you can't play an inverted LMF, it might work but I doubt if I have seen it before

what do you make of the combination of v. Moses and isacc success on the flanks because of their bullish and fast style of play. compared to iwobi playing in similar position.
success is right footed so playing him on the left might not work. but if we can, seriously Iwobi is too soft for the African game. with Moses and success in opposite flanks one thing will be sure, chances will be created. but Iwobi is all about playing football in the centre of the pitch and really he should start vying for the cmf position with the other players there but he is not the best LMF we have

Nobody is talking about how iwobi totally got lost in the game.
Currently there is no one like Mikel in that team.
he was played out of position. no shame in that, we need to keep him in that LMF role or he goes to the bench,

It doesn't inspire confidence, Ndidi is too much of a. DM he is not an intelligent ball player like Mikel. They could get over run in midfield.

Sometimes you need a striker to hold it up for you when the going get tough and impose himself on the defence. That is not the KC game, we will definitely miss Mikel.

Balogun as wing back he is not technically proficient enough. Keita will have him for dinner I actually prefer Shehu in that position by a huge gap.
I'd assume you understood what you typed. you said he is NOT a ball player like Mikel, you didn't compare him euthaNized, you just pointed out that Mikel is a ballplayer and he isnt. So in essence what you said is that is not an intelligent ball player

When some of the best players in the World missed sitters, will you blame it on match fitness? Aguero missed lots of sitters against Liverpool. The does not mean he is not match fit. It happens. Some games he will miss and others he will convert.

Seems you do not know that Nacho's goal to game ratio increased today.
I don't know how.many times I will have to tell you that I do not rate Aguero as one of the top 10 strikers in the world. iheanacho should be better than him. Gabriel Jesus is after all

we all.know that Kayode isn't efficient. however when a player with the best goal to game ratio in the epl starts missing sitters, we know something is wrong somewhere

83' Goal! Nigeria 1, Senegal 1. Kelechi Iheanacho (Nigeria) converts the penalty with a right footed shot to the bottom right corner.

Please, can you confirm the above that Iheanacho took the penalty with his right foot?
I guess Guardiola taught him how to use his right foot?

unless if modified
you cannot modify a 3-4-3 to include Mikel, Ndidi, Etebo and Onazi at the same time. or even three of them. none of them can play as the side midfielder so you are left with only two

There are different variations. Just like in 4-4-2.
I am using the Barcelona blueprint now. a 3-4-3 reverts to a 4-4-2 in defence or a 5-3-2 or 5-4-1, either ways you still need basically three midfielders, two side midfielders. we do not have side midfielders, So this particular formation is the best we can possibly use to maximise our potentials
