A poor man is like a foreigner in his own country .....millions of poor people were rendered homeless by their own government..... No alternative accommodations provided ....not even for the sake of the elderly and kids....while them .. their own kids are are enjoying .... and eating the fats of the land...

A Magistrates’ court in Port Harcourt, today granted bail to popular blogger, Kemi Omolulu Olonloyo, and Samuel Walson, publisher of a local tabloid in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The two publishers are facing four count charges of publishing defamatory and malicious story against the General Overseer of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie.

Chief Magistrate, Alatuwo Elkanah Fubara, in his ruling granted the two accused media practitioners bail in the sum of two hundred thousand Naira with credible sureties who reside in Port Harcourt.

The court also struck out one of the charges on cyber crime against Kemi Omolulu Olonloyo for lack of jurisdiction to try the matter.

The matter has been adjourned to May 4 for hearing.

Yes it was ok for Pastor to take it court to defend himself ....

If it goes back to court in May and they both present themselves before the judge.....It would be nice to post the court video to the public.......No one is above the law......then we can say we are being fair to her as a citizen and to the pastor whose reputation is at stake.

But to accuse her of defamation, send her to prison , handcuffed and in prison uniform... and still detain her after bail and without any any trial or video showing the trial ....makes me wonder and want to question our judicial system..........and who is pulling the string.

Our judicial system is something else when money bags or those who knows people in government are involved.

Which judge tried the case and found her guilty of Defamation..... Have they been to court ... was she asked to provide any evidence to support her story......or is it a case of trying to get the police to shut her up .....just cos he is a pastor does not mean the case should not be investigated properly...

why send her to prison, put her in prison cloth and handcuffed her with another criminal............do we now send people to prison without trial...

Seriously am expecting a day when some these pastor will be asked to show in court .. ... and swear by the holy bible... ...all am seeing is them getting people arrested....if they expose or write about them... not saying they are all guilty.

They are public figures .. Journalist have published stories about bigger pastors, celebrities , Presidents , institutions where we found some of them to be true.....it could be good or bad..

If it is going to be a court case ... let it be done well..regardless of status.... so that people can learn and understand our judicial system and also in the context of journalism.

Supposing Kemi is right .....and the Pastor is trying to shut her up from revealing more....... by getting her detained in prison.

He must have met Kemi at the police station .. Why could he not confront her there ....... ask her questions...and demand a public apology if she was wrong ......

If she is a journalist ... didn't they have to go to court before charging her for defamation of character.....I would love to see the court video including the witnesses involved...

Did the police got in touch with Iyabo for questioning .... and everyone involved in the scandal...... before detaining Kemi ... and have they given her the chance to provide her own evidence in court .... before finding her guilty...and detaining her.

They arrested and re arrested her again ... probably cos she refused to shut up.. ...How do we know the Pastor is innocent ........ in the eyes of GOd ...... did he do it or not ?.....

Come to think of it,.When Sahara reporters published report on Dino regarding his Certificates . Dino came out to refute the statement and we all saw the videos. The Police did not detain any of the sahara reporters while he is preparing to take them to court.

So whats makes Kemi Versus Pastor s case different ?? .. why detain her Supposing it was Sahara reporters that published the story .. would the police detain them and put them in prison uniform and parading as criminals before court judgement.

What authority does he have over her?

Maybe he has authority over his sheep. but she clearly doesn't want to be his among his "sheep".

The problem with this scenario is that if I find what you just posted as offensive and I have the money or "power", I can ask the Nigerian Police to lock you up.

As "Christians", why are we slaves to money in Nigeria. Money can get you a lot of things but not true freedom.

I don't envy Miss Olunloyo's position but I salute her fight.

And until we all stand against the position where one human being feels like he can be superior to another human being... No comment.

Of course you are right .. He has no power over her .. but Kemi should always back her stories with evidence before publishing . Who knows if she has evidence to back her claim.

The money they are spending on lawyers can even help some poor people on the street.

I believe the pastor can have a one to one discussion with her , talk to her about the issue and correct her if possible .. invite her her to church to be ministered to.

Kemi is perceived as someone unstable or with mental health issues and always believe she is fine.

She seems to me as someone with no friends and sees the social media as a way of communicating with people or getting attention.
She has spoken against her own father , talked about her own son possessing a gun , all sorts. They are so many people like her out there , that needs to be counselled , showed love and delivered.
Locking her up wont change anything , she will come out and do the same thing again. It,s all happening in her head and thinks she is a journalist . She has no sound mind.

People like her are not worth punishing . She has lot of issues with herself and everybody. She needs help.

who and Where does she gets her information from?? People might be using her and giving her information knowing she will spill it out to the public.

Not worth fighting with .. If Pastor is truly honest and nothing to hide .... He can pray, counsel her and bring her close to God, assign people to visit talk and pray with her . He should not see her as a challenge but an opportunity to win her to Christ and change her life.

God is able and can touch her.

If Kemi was wrong and lying .. let her apologise to the Pastor and clear the air on the rumour she is spreading. I hope the pastor will forgive her and preach Jesus to her.

What if she is right but cannot afford so many lawyers to defend her?? .. and we are already judging and condemning her because she is a talkative. ... or because she does not know how to present it to the public....... and ...... How do we tell if we find out a Man of God is doing something wrong , without being labelled the devil?

Jesus was not saying that we should never defend ourselves but, rather, that we should never strike offensively, that we should not allow ourselves to be provoked to take revenge. Am not blaming anyone . This saga just makes us ask questions as Christians . I believe in pastor defending himself and against Kemi spreading malicious rumour about people but what if she is right?...and pastor using his position to supress the fact...Only God knows

I really like pastor Adeboye. .. You hear all sorts about him...people have called him all sort of names ... but I have never heard of him dragging anyone to court.

Kemi need to stop posting rubbish about people. ...May be it is an opportunity for the pastor to meet her , counsel and preach Jesus to her.

You never know if she really has mental health problem.

There is no better test of a man's integrity...than his behaviour when he is wrong

We hail and praise our corrupt law makers, politicians... when they dont even care about us,,,,,, We fight ourselves because of them .... while they are busy enjoying our stolen money and planing their next loot.

So sad a lot of brilliant graduates that worked so HARD for their qualifications are frustrated roaming the street everyday with no job , no food ,no money.....some ...their parents exhausted their hard earned money on them ,,just to have an education with the hope of becoming better than them and making it in life.....

while our politicians are busy stealing our future ..... buying degrees , buying posts and sending their kids to the best schools in the world and getting them into the top posts in jobs...then bragging about it.

It is a society where money speaks and can buy anything..
