that's heartless.. And you are happy somebody lost their job because of you. I am in no way in support of the way you got treated. But habba how can you get some one sacked in this harsh economy and you have peace of mind. You dont know if she is her family's bread winner..
Y'all talk about saner societies and how things are done right there, but when it's time to get real, you become sentimental and judgemental. Actions have consequences and the lady learnt that the hard way. When you really think about it, the lady didn't get her sacked, she only reported her. The decision to sack her was from her superiors, they could have just issued her a query or suspended her. Maybe it wasn't even her first time.

So contrary to the rule of law and principle of impartiality and due process, you wish to hold guilty until proven innocent? It is laughable that you say you will use Air Peace if he was proven innocent when you have never seen the inside of an aeroplane before. smh.

Are you kidding right now? Haven't we been doing everything for ourselves in this country? We have been generating electricity ourselves through generators even when we pay humongous money for it; we drill water ourselves, we pay for our own security, we create jobs and develop businesses in spite of the government, yet we are being taxed heavily. Should we also add construction of roads to our 'duties' now?

Aptly put. Any minister or official who wants a meeting with the President should schedule it through the CoS. Anyone who feels too important to do that have no business being a Minister in the first place.
CelebritiesRe: Evangelist Victor Edet Warns Tope Alabi To Stop Using Wigs, Makeup, Earrings by Microfels: 4:28pm On Jul 26, 2019
simplesearch:

1 John 2:15-17

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.

GEN 35:4-5

And they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob
hid them under the oak which was by Shechem.

And they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of
Jacob.

Serving God requires total obedience to his command, trust faith and obedience is the key to God's kingdom. We are sure to miss the
mark if we depend on our own understanding or popular opinion to determine our loyalty to God, God's word should be our final
authority in all matters of faith.

I believe if it's necessary for women to have holes in their ears God would have done the boring himself. There are some things God
wants us to do those are clearly spelt out in his word, like circumcision of the male child etc. God wants us to be holy unto him spirit,
soul and body, but the starting point is salvation as whatever we do without this amount to nothing, but salvation itself is the beginning
of the journey not the end.
Nothing in the Bible passages you quote even remotely suggest that dressing up is a sin. You can't equate loving the world to using ornaments. Going by your premise, then buying good cars, building nice houses, expensive clothes etc will all then be sins. Is that what you are saying?
Saying that God would have made a hole in girls' ears is idiotic at best.

Common sense from you, or is that too much to ask?
Ministers' appointment have a constitutional requirement of at least one Minister per state. So don't roll the drums out just yet, Baba simply has no choice.

Not a wailer by the way.

iRepNaija1:
Most of you missed the point of these people's comments. They're questioning why all his reasons for why he's marrying this woman center around how much she's done for him, not about what he's done for her or how much he loves her. Let's be honest: a man who believes he's got a good woman, who is, most of the time financially stable, will go above and beyond to spoil her and make her feel loved and treasured. Even if he doesn't have money, he still puts in the effort to make her feel loved and treasured. That message was not conveyed in his post at all. He just sounds like a taker and her a giver. I don't care who you are: being assigned one role gets tiring and people grow resentful.
The write-up is about HER and not about HIM. Maybe he could have ended it with how much he loves her and all that... But that doesn't mean he is not worthy of her. He is just trying to celebrate her virtues.

There is ambitious and there is stupid. You should go and read about what is done to escaped slaves during that era. And even if he had escaped, what are the prospects of an unlearned black escaped slave anywhere? Where exactly was he going to use those skills? At least he made it to the history books.

19 APC Governors.... Thank God APC decided to practice true democracy unlike PDP's do or die Democracy with assasination up and down.

PDP dark days of Ruling party power would have had 30 out of 36 Governors true voodoo election and makaruru.

We the good Oyo people are happy we get to change party when we feel like, without federal mights harrasing anyone like during the Adedibu days

Your understanding of history is warped. PDP has always been winning and losing states based on their party cohesion even when they were at the centre. They lost Osun and Edo states during GEJ's tenure and some others down the line. Ask Adeleke if you think APC is practising true democracy. Neither PDP nor APC is a saint.

It just can't wait till the next update. What can I say? Here in Naija we talk about our aging (aircraft) fleet and "Nigerian factor" as causes of crash. But here we're talking about a brand new state of the art equipment operated by one of the best run aviation companies in the world. It makes you think, and wonder, if you are not knowing. If you have been following my literature you will know that I see it differently. While we are here crying, many of those 157 souls could already be in a better place swinging in the will of the Almighty and wondering what the heck the fuss about death is all about here on earth. Every religion believes in a better place after death. If we believe what we say we believe, we can only always give thanks in these situations and pray for the souls to find their way to where they are supposed to be. I believe death on earth is birth into the beyond, and depending on how you have lived it could be a very joyful birth indeed. Imagine waking up in a land where the streets are paved in gold, and you can attend operas with Abraham, Elijah, and Mohammed in attendance? Why will I not want to die already?
You are right and I do agree with your line of thought. But things aren't always that straightforward.

Sure, maybe Professor Pius is in a better place and maybe he has been reborn into a fantastic place, paved with gold and whatnot. It still doesn't change the fact that he has departed this plane of existence, and for those of us who are opportune to have been impacted by him, it still doesn't hurt less. Such philosophical thoughts are not going to be enough consolation for the wife, and they sure aren't going to stop the little daughter from getting angry at the world for her loss.

You are right though, we should give thanks because he lived a good life and we should pray and hope that he is in a better place. RIP Pius Adesanmi, RIP the rest 156 souls!

Centino,

I consider myself a reader and a book enthusiast. i mean, I read all the titles in the African writers series before I was 14. I have read most of the English classics from Shakespeare to Marlowe to Hardy to Defoe etc. I have read a great deal of the books by Nigerian writers and I've never stopped reading since I picked up my first novel at 8. My point is, your work is different and unique in itself. it is intriguing, relaxing and provocative at the same time. Your work is a masterpiece even without the sophistication of published works.

Thanks for adding colour to my Sundays in 2018. You will never know what your story did for my state of mind, but suffice it to say, you gave me something to look forward to and you never disappointed!

I thank you brother.

Don't be naïve, these foreign powers still influence who becomes President especially in third world countries. Nigeria is even peculiar because they can't afford another failed state in sub Saharan Africa. America's CIA & State department and UK's MI6 aided buhari in 2015, guess story has changed now.

Mr Ogundipe was arrested and detained on Tuesday for refusing to disclose his source for a story. He was secretly tried by the police on Wednesday and denied access to legal representation at the trial.

Oan,
We wonder why it is so difficult for him to let the police know his source too.
Sometimes, you stoop low to conquer in life.
Wisdom!
Wisdom you say? Your comment is foolishness at its peak. One of the salient rules of journalism is the protection of sources even on the threat of death. Besides, why does he even have to reveal his source? Isn't press freedom one of the gains of democracy? Or doesn't FOI apply to this present government?

Great work Centino, I have been following this story with great enthusiasm and you haven't disappointed. However, I think you should ease up on the supernatural aspect, it's beginning to read like a bad Yoruba movie. Although, you have established a great foundation for Mama's supernatural activities and Mr Cosmas' character has given us a unique insight, I think you are beginning to overdo it with Mama's ability to know people's thoughts, aura, primal desires etc. and her other unnatural abilities.
