What exactly is truth? This has been the philosophers' burden. But truth is a very complex thing to define. In a layman way, I would rather say, that truth does not really exist. Only what you consider or accept as truth is true.


The definition copied from the dictionary above tried to define the 'ttuth' but end up giving types of truth.


Human beings have been searching for the ' truth' and will continue to search till they kingdom come. On this platform, all manners of arguments ranging from reasonable to the ridiculous and violent are common.
In search of the truth, we cross one religion or denomination to another. Some others remain aloof. They don't clutter their minds with any loads of teachings.

What is the truth? I like to relate what a prized astrophysicist Neil Degrasse Tyson has to say.

He categorizes the truth into three:
1. Personal Truth
This is what you accept to be true. You want to lay down your life for it. It could border on personal experiences. Something that happened to you and no one can reason you out of.

2. Environmental Truth
This is what is accepted to be true in a community.
For instance Antichristian doesn't see anything good in other religions other than Islam. The same goes for almost all Muslims. However, if he was born in Nnewi, his chances of him being a Muslim is very small. Same way MaximumSide can never dream about a burning hell nor myself thinking or dreaming of the apparition of Virgin Mary. This kind of truth makes one believe in the mysterious: virgin birth, someone taking your sins, stoning an innocent Satan by the likes of my friend Antichristian.



3. Objective Truth
This is verifiable truth. A repeatable, universal truth. This is what science is looking for. Something universal in it's scope. Something you can willing bring out or verify. This kind has removed from mankind all manners of superstitions. Many 'gods' and practices today have been eclipsed by this kind of truth.

The question still remains: what is the truth?

I don't criticize the religion of Christianity/Churchianism. I point out the fact that it is not Jesus Christ who gave a Law instead to His followers, not religion.

In addition, if the ideas are lies, how can they agree with what is instead the Truth of God as taught by Jesus Christ Himself? For instance, back to the topic at hand, Jesus Christ made it abundantly clear that,
■ He does not receive honor from human beings
■ He only receives honor from God, the Father

Jesus Christ explained that, unlike the Pharisees and the teachers of the law of the time who bathed themselves in the glory/honor they received from other humans, He, Jesus Christ, does not receive glory/honor from humans. Instead, the only glory/honor/praises He receives is that which comes directly to Him from His Father and His Father alone. This is further revealed in the prayer Jesus Christ said to the Father in John 17.

Those of you who are of the religion of Churchianism/Christianity treat Jesus Christ, who you claim to trust and believe, as though He were equal to the Pharisees when you pretend you honor Him with your many praises and your worship songs which you pretend glorify Him. So, why in the world would I expect to agree with you who are steeped in lies— blinded to the Truth of God clearly written in human language for all to comprehend— that is against Jesus Christ? Does that make sense to you?

According to John 5: 40-44 that you quoted. The scripture doesn't talk about praising Jesus.

Jesus was condemning their eye service. He said people like to praise or complement themselves. They are not concerned about what God thinks about them.

For instance, if I donate 5 million naira to someone, they will thank me and keep on doing so anytime they see me. Even though I'm bad to staff, and I don't do the right things, I would rather hear people thank me and recognise me for what I've done. But Jesus is saying none of that matters except I'm getting praise from God. Which in this case none of these people care whether they are doing good in sight of God nor even believe in God.
