He failed in other things any other President could pass. Yet, he is leaving a legacy behind. I don't think, likes of Obasanjo could do that. We have seen many of African leaders that prefer war to leaving power even in the face of obvious defeat in election. IBB nullified the most credible election the effect is still trading the nation today. Many did not vote in this election because votes didn't count before. I think he has won democracy for us. More Nigerians will have conference in future elections.

I am always scared of thinking an election in my dear country in which power will be transfered to an opposition party without problems. We have seen many sit - tight Presidents in Africa and exhibition of greed that led to blood letting, unrests, power sharing and introduction of many new philosophies into democracy.

With this alone, GEJ has laid a foundation for a new Nigeria. A Nigeria you can trust your vote will count and democracy can work and any eligible political office seekers could be voted in.

In his speech I heard him say, ' ... I promised you free and fair election, and I have kept my word.....' In my own opinion, this is the clue most desired by Nigerians, a legacy that will make him a reference point in Nigeria history.
