ghm:I am not comparing or talking about any specific better candidate(s). Let the masses that have suffered decide the alternative option, and they would if there is free and fair election. |
megawealth01:@Mega, You prediction about Unity Bank is about to unfold! Let me see who go borrow me money fast or I dagger some of my Oando shares ![]() |
Ddll:Wow! I hope it would lead to lifting the suspension or coming to raise some equity capital. |
essentialone:There are 2 types of dividends: cash dividend and stock dividend. What Oando is about doing is more like stock dividend |
otomatic:Lol ![]() Thank you ooo |
Agbalowomeri:Pardon me ooo. Is he faking it or something ? I don't have any prior knowledge about him. |
SpaceX:Contact the brokers and NGX urgently so they can trace the trades on your account and block the culprit's account before the person sells and cash out. |
SpaceX:How come? Did you use a public system or the app on your phone was compromised ? You may have to contact the brokers/owners and NGX urgently |
sarrki:May God protect our troops and help them achieve total victory . But we need more definite success and total victory over these bandits and terrorists. It is becoming embarrassing |
elpaso007:Somebody made a post and said those who have a lot of Oando should pray that Tinubu wins and stays beyond 2027; Did anyone say his prayer is in vain or ask him to take those comments to the Politics section ? But when I said I have Oando but I pray he loses 2027, then you people suddenly remember that there is a Politics section so I should take my reply there. Is this not hypocrisy or double standards? Pure witchcraft ! There is no way the name of the head of govt and its economic policies will not be mentioned at all in an investment forum. So learn to live with it or ignore the post. |
megawealth01:I still believe Oando will do well and recover largely by end of 2026. So there will no qualms when TPain loses in 2027. The main issue is the price of crude oil and what Trump does in US! |
Harvestock01:Please just say that you pray and hope he will win. No need to tell me that I pray and hope in vain because that means you are cursing my prayer! This may lead to reactions and counter reactions. Some of you guys don't understand how to debate in a public forum, hence you make debates to degenerate unnecessarily! . |
megawealth01:I have much of Oando but I still pray and hope Tinubu loses the 2027 elections. Investments and the financial markets require a president/govt that would be very meticulous with good economic policies that ensure macroeconomic stability. To hell with nonsense. If Oando is not able to show positive recovery between now and 2027, I will rebalance my portfolio. Even right now, I have plans to sell some units after the first and second tranche of the share redistribution and then let's see what happens to the rest . |
TreasureJunky:Exactly! |
Raider76:You are right. However, actual Bonus is even more complicated because it would involve issuance of new shares with a lot of administrative processes. But this is to redistribute pre-existing shares that have been already warehoused, which is less complicated than a bonus. |
sophy17:That is what usually happens in the capital market when such cut off days are announced(e.g. dividend payments), unless something unusual happens. Even if the issuance is done one month, it would be 30 days (still few days )The doubt here is probably because of Oando's antecedents but the registrars usually credit shareholders accounts a few days after the cut off date |
designking:But the price may start to rise when it gets closer to Feb14, so take note. Wish you best of luck. |
designking:No. The shares will be issued some few days after Feb14. But your name and units of shares must be in the register of shareholders (members) on that day (Feb14) before you can benefit from the distribution. Feb14 is the cut off date. If you wait and sell your shares on Feb15 or Feb16 etc you will still benefit . |
SAK: ![]() I want him to give us something new. He has been consistent on Oando, and anyone who is interested should be in by now, I guess. |
SonofElElyonRet:Access Bank also seems attractive at N28. With GT and Zenith at N50+, Access should be clocking around N40-N45. |
lionshare:Yes, you are right that security is another big challenge. I recall some security analysts say that Buhari gave contract to Tompolo to secure the pipelines. This Tinubu govt is also trying to engage Niger Delta community elders to see how to improve the security situation, which is good. Don't also forget the effect and impact of COVID-19 some few years back The truth is the PIA is helping to attract more investments in the oil and gas sector by providing clear guidelines and framework for seamless divestments, acquisitions e.g. Chappal Energies-Equinor, NAOC-Oando, Mobil-Seplat etc. Many more acquisitions will take place soon because there is better understanding and less confusion in the process due to the guiding framework, incentives, mechanisms in the PIA e.g. Shell - Renaissance Group The law was even used as an excuse by the current govt to remove oil subsidy; that should tell you how influential it has been for sometime now, |
Nonybb:True |
lionshare:The oil and gas sector is not a ''wait-and-get'' sector. It is a capital intensive one with long gestation period. It is also a very volatile sector. The benefits of govt policy decisions may not reflect immediately. Some of the benefits of what this current government is doing may not reflect now. It may take several years to materialize. Similarly, some of the improvements we see today are not the handiwork of this current govt. But the most critical instrument of change in the industry has been the PIA. It has attracted more investors to the sector because of the clear operational and legal frameworks e.g. the establishment of regulators NMDPRA, NUPRC, domestic crude obligation, product pricing, industry dispute resolution etc. are guided by the PIA 2021. And these are some of the major factors that attract investments to the sector. |
veecovee:Lol ![]() Aliko is focused on the refinery for now, he needs to get it on a solid footing before other business can get his attention |
Emir01:Did I mention your papa or father in what I typed? Is this how you debate in a public forum? What value/virtue do you place on mentioning ''your papa'', ''your father'' in a public forum? |
ndept:The shares were surrendered to Oando as part of settlement for debts owed by the owners, and the agreement was legally signed and sealed, so they cannot sue. But I think some of the debts were connected to Wale himself. . |
lionshare:I agree with your theory. A score of 30% is better than 10%, but both are still failures! The renewed increased oil production is largely due to improved policy, regulatory and legal frameworks that govern the oil sector as contained in the Petroleum Industry Act, 2021 which was promulgated by the Buhari govt (the same APC govt), even though it had been a draft bill for many years. Same with the rehabilitation of the PH refinery. Buhari is APC, so my point is not based on political party affiliation, but facts. |
ndept:He will benefit too, but compare what he would benefit now against the benefit of keeping the whole 4.3billion to himself and the related party subsidiaries. |
megawealth01:You made a good point. I think Oando just needs to inject enough capital to eliminate the killer finance costs and rationalize the huge admin. expenses which depress their profits. If they are able to do these two things before 2027, then there will be no fears even after his uncle leaves power. Hopefully, the share redistribution will be completed before then. |
Ovamboland:The impact is what matters and the impact will always come if the right thing is done. No president will be in office for ever, but we will always feel the benefits or costs of their policy actions. What is unethical and unprofessional is to do mischief and tell lies by arrogating the success that does not belong to them. This same govt blames Buhari for past policy failures. Why are they not truthful enough to give credit for what he did? |
