Henry120: In addition to the MI-35M and MI-171SH terminator helicopters acquisition recently signed with Russia, nigeria is getting an additional 12 Upgraded MI-35 helicopters from Belarus.

Additional T-84 M OPLOT tanks and Upgraded T-72 tanks also coming in.

Source : beegeagle.
I can tell you that Nigeria might have bought obsolete airframes which were setting outside some company's plant in Russia or Belarus.

If indeed you bought anything.

Keep cleaning the pile of scrap outside Russian and Belarus defence companies. grin grin grin grin cheesy grin cheesy cheesy grin cheesy cheesy grin cheesy grin cheesy

Henry120: The Biggest construction company in Africa, is a Nigerian company. Julius berger PLC. The chinese are very much welcome in Nigeria, the same why G.E is welcome in calabar and has a production facility there.

CCECC, JB, SETRACO, GITTO, dantata& soweo, HITECH all work in a competitive, very open $510 billion nigerian market.
LOOOL!!!! Oi,do you hear what you're saying mate?

"Oga" Henry I think, you should encourage "passive patriotism". If I can use that phrase.

Unlike what we are seeing now, where other "African brothers" are bashed and forced into some "dic..k measuring contest".

Henry120: So Obama visiting pretoria is now an achievement for South-Africans........ Lol.. Low self-esteem and inferiority complex at it's height.

Compare to Nigeria

When the chinese premier visited nigeria, Nigeria got over 18 billion dollars in new investments, 35 billion dollars in total investments and an additional 30 billion for the rest of Africa.

#WEF Africa

Beat that.
Yes,similar to how the are Chinese workers building roads and bridges for you?

SA has a balanced relationship with both East and the West.

Henry120: All we did was carry out Africa's single largest naval exercise. A small price to pay.

I won't want south-africa to go through the rigours of conducting such a Gigantic naval exercise. It's a burden we would carry for Africa.

No need thanking us Nigerians, we're doing it for the continent.
NOPE,Nigeria was simply participating in a AFRICOM exercise. Similar to shared accord.

It isn't a Nigerian initiative. Mean while SA holds REAL NAVAL exercises with navies from NATO and BRIC countries, not PARTICIPATING!!!!!!!!!
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 7:13pm On Sep 25, 2014
Henry120: No, Exercise 39 ships, 6 Naval helicopters and 1 ELINT compliant surveillance plane.

That exercise.

Beat that.
Boarding vessels,search and my foot!!!!

Is this how the world's powerful navies see Nigerian navy?
Only worth to be taught boarding pirates vessels? NO REAL NAVAL STUFF!!!!!!!!!!

Has Nigeria ever fired missiles during naval exercises with her allies?

grin grin grin cheesy cheesy grin cheesy grin cheesy grin grin

patches689: Nigerians seem to think that the job of the Head of the Navy is to stand on the bridge of a warship and lead personally lead his fleets into battle. Not sit in an office and deal with bureaucracy and politics.

Churchill was head of the most powerful navy on earth (at the time), feel free to point out his naval service... or military service (apart from being captured by Boers grin )
10/10 cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

During wars,he'll just send an order from the CSANDF down the chain of command to some "team",to draw up "battle or operational plans"

When that's done,it'll be incorporated to the CiC desired or description of the nature of war his getting him/her self into.

agaugust: Plans are not reality until executed, plans die in infancy.

Augustine planned to 'screw' Yvonne Chaka Chaka when I was only 10 years old, has it possible now?

Dream on dreamer, 4 frigate for patrol of 10 million square kilometres of ocean area from Mozambique to Mauritania......and no single satellite....plus 3 Submarines that have no single radar..
....Now I remember South African navy chief has no sea navigational certificate and no sailors licence grin grin

.
.
1. OPVs 2. Frigates 3. Submarines.

The submarines have radar, including surface search radar.

He does. But never mind that, cause he isn't responsible for "operational plans".

The are officers responsible for planning that.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 6:05pm On Sep 25, 2014
Henry120: 9 Naval ships including NNS thunder, NNS enymiri (NN corvette)

2 Naval helicopters

1 ATR-42 ELINT compliant surveillance plane.

Beat that.
1.Patrol vessels!!!

2.Military Helicopters

3. Maritime surveillance plane.

With the assets which were contributed during the exercise stated,it simple to conclude:

This was a simple anti-piracy exercise(boarding vessels and such). NOT REAL NAVAL STUFF.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 5:59pm On Sep 25, 2014
Henry120: Remember obangame 2014, the single largest naval exercise in africa. Remember the number of ships that participated, 39 ships, 6 helicopters and 1 Fixed wing Elint compliant surveillance asset.

I hope you remembered that?
You mean: Exercise teach Nigerians how to board vessels?

Again that exercise isn't a Nigerian initiative with her allies, but you were simply participating.

patches689: South African Navy moves up to take over Anti-Piracy duties in West Africa - Stand aside boys, best Navy in Sub-Saharan Africa coming through

The SA Navy will deploy warships on Africa’s west coast as far north as the Gulf of Guinea.

The deployments, early next year, will involve frigates and possibly submarines Johannesburg daily, The Times, reported.

According to The Presidency 220 SANDF members from the air force, military health service and the navy will be employed in Mozambican, Tanzanian and international waters monitoring and deterring piracy along the southern African coast of the Indian Ocean.

Piracy expert Professor Henri Fouche, of Unisa's criminology and security science department, said Angola was of particular concern following a recent attack on a ship just outside its territorial waters.

"These attacks, especially on the west coast, are particularly violent," he said.

"Concerning to South Africa are the disruptions by piracy of West African oil routes.

"On the east African coast all kinds of ships were targeted, but on the west coast it's specifically oil tankers and their lucrative cargos which are targets."

Fouche said the attacks were a threat to South Africa's economy.

"These naval deployments will be in line with the African Union's strategy on the protection of maritime exclusive zones."

Though piracy had been much reduced in East Africa, Fouche said it was still a huge problem in West Africa.

It had spread from Nigeria to Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Benin, Ghana and now Angola.

He said pirates were heavily armed and well organised, operating with deep-sea vessels and barges and with established buyers for their loot.

"They have specific off-loading areas often situated in the myriad inlets along the huge Gulf of Guinea coastline."

GreenandGold: Nigeria can't even shoot a rocket projectile onto the Zuma rock yet they aim for space.
People like @Henry120 sometimes, act like sponges by simply absorbing what's written on sites by misinformed journalists whom didn't do any investigation whatsoever, and come release it here.

Designing a rocket and facilities to take a satellite to space, within 4 years? As he claims Nigeria will do that in 2018.

RUBBISH!!!

Centrifude: I guess what you're saying is very true I just hope that we don't get caught in the middle of all this B.S, we all have enough ish to deal with, but with everything that's been happening, U.S blocking Nigeria from buying weapons, it seems as if the more nigeria makes progress in fighting B.h the U.S do something to slow down that process, while on the other hand S.A politicians are bending over to Chinas will, and we're still waiting to see how the west is going to respond to this unexpected R.S.A & Russian Nuclear Power deal.
Don't speculate please.

Only to come again from another hole to claim the same thing you were corrected from previous posts.

Nigerian navy in action....just like the US Navy I posted above....but we see no South African action grin grin

It has always been said that kinetic action is the last resort when all has failed from diplomacy, deterrence to negotiations.

Pirates came to your waters cause, your Navy couldn't deter them away.

The fight against pirates in your waters shows YOUR NAVY IS WEAK!!!!!!

Similar to BH. They went from poor AK-47 terrori..ts to a well armed fighting force capable of routing out the Nigerian army in many towns and capturing them. WEAKNESS OF YOUR ARMY!!!

Henry120: Nigeria is going to record another First in 2018. We are the first and only african country to build and launch a satellite, Nigeria SAT-X. This time, we're going to build and launch the first made in africa satellite on African soil.

Dragon had earlier posted this story, as usual the south-africans avoided it like a plague. Anyway, I'm posting it again.

The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Abdu Bulama, said on Tuesday in Abuja that Nigeria would design, fabricate, test and launch its indigenous satellite by 2018.

Bulama stated this when he inspected facilities at the Obasanjo Space Centre of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA).

The minister said the centre had the mandate to launch Nigeria’s first indigenous satellite by 2018, and described space science and technology programme as an important component of the Nigerian dream.

According to him, the satellite programme has a very positive role to play in the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.

Bulama directed that the assembly, testing and integration centre, and the Synthetic Aperture Rader Satellite, which are under construction, be completed by 2015. “The Assembly, Testing and Integration Centre, and the Synthetic Aperture Rader Satellite are the nucleus of NASRDA.

“It is here that we will, by the grace of God, launch our first made in Nigeria satellite by 2018. “By 2018, by the grace of God, we want to see made-in-Nigeria satellite launched. It will be built in this laboratory and launched by our Nigerian scientists,” he said. According to him, competence and capabilities in satellite technology serve as tool for national growth and a huge contribution to the development and benefit of mankind.

Earlier, the Director-General of NASRDA, Dr Seidu Mohammed, who conducted Bulama round the facilities, said the agency could boast of world-class technology in term of facilities.
You think South Africans care about such fantasies.

Defence spokesman has a twitter and facebook account

The army, navy, police, DSS and airforce have active websites, twitter, facebook accounts.
Your military doesn't know a thing about PR work.

All twitter accounts ran by people or organisations you mentioned look like they're ran by some illiterate bustard somewhere in the continent.

Even M23 knew how to use social media better.

Websites? Embarrassing for supposedly the "best military in Africa".
