AugustineAgain: I hate ignorance. An order so what? Remember when Congo's FARDC ordered upgraded T-62 tanks? Guess where they are today, clue is provided by the picture below.

AugustineAgain: Rag Tag bushmen hunters...illiterates. LOLThe 31 battalion(bush men) was disbanded like the Buffalo. Your army is using hunters today to track BH go tell them they're illiterate Looool. The TDF,BDF,VDF etc were trained by the SADF. After Rhodesia's Ian Smith government fell in Zimbabwe some soldiers were absorbed into this forces with some officers becoming Chief of staffs. Gaining vast amount of knowledge. This forces were better than your military today. It is impossible to talk about COIN without mentioning the Selous scouts. Stop embarrassing your self cause you don't know what you're talking about. Patriotism is causing you to be blind. |

agaugust: There are strange grey colored shiny new 4th Generation jet fighters flying around NAF base TAC Makurdi, seen several times...awaiting announcement from Nigerian air force of the new arrival. Chad is flying only 3 units of old MiG-29 jets flown by white-men mercenary pilots from Ukraine. LOL !I hate rumours. |
AugustineAgain: Most ? Show us proof of their numbers in today's SANDF...most you said? Fool yourself not us. LOL. Around 200. Some planned infiltrations into SA and bombing. The reason I won't "all" while some came from the homeland forces like the TDF,VDF,BDF etc. |
agaugust: In the past 20 years till today, Nigeria fought full blown wars against 50,000 Liberian fighters and 70,000 Sierra Leonean fighters...we deployed 20,000 soldiers in NE war today.Zimbabwe fought rebel forces of bigger numbers too in the DRC. You fought rebels not well trained armies with proper communications, command and contro, descipline, well equipped with medium armour and heavy weapons. Those bloody cannibals whom run about butt nake.... while fighting? When your military faces resistance you start breaking the rules of war and commit grouse human rights abuses. What indesciplined armies do. Similar what Congo soldiers did when M23 hammered them and the Ukrainian and Indian Mi-25/35 couldn't stop the rebel advance. |
agaugust: 99% of SANDF 30 years ago war that you NEVER won, are dead or run away to Australia. Most generals are in their 50s they were officers in back then. Who did win the war? Cause it doesn't matter cause both sides whom tried to kill each other are today trading knowledge. From COIN from planning such ops and how to counter them to large scale high tempo conventional warfare. |
agaugust: Yes India did it, details classified. You cannot jam what you don't know technically, stop fooling yourself.Radio=waves. Radio can easily be jammed or should I say "disturbed". India did nothing. Even if they did something it was linking your military radars to civilian ones. Nigeria has no data links,no new radars and India doesn't produce Skyshield like ADA systems. |
agaugust: How do you know? South Africa has zero war experience in the past 20 years, your military only knows theory that is written in texbooks of modern warfare, zero practical. Our military is led by people whom fought in Angola,Zimbabwe,Namibia,Tanzania,Mozambique,Lesotho. The leadership is experienced in conventional and COIN ops. In the past 20 years Nigeria has never fought Any full blown war. |
agaugust: Nigerian ADS links to command and control with other modernization was done by India from 2012 for Nigerian army air defense corp. We have posted that source many times here since 2013.With radio which can be jammed. Link should bring together or link the Air defence command post,"gunners" or battery commanders, command and control center, air force, ministry of defence, intergrated with civilian aviation radars, different systems(guns, missiles, radar) etc. Real time situational awareness. And No. India didn't modernize anything. If they did your air defence artillery unit wouldn't have had to refurbish it's twin barrel ADA guns last year. |
agaugust: Is it your daddy's money we are spending? Nigeria is an oil and gas rich country. Mind your own business. You think millions are just made available from nowhere? Grinding down your equipment numbers add as an advantage to the enemy. You're spending peanuts on defence loosing million dollar will grind down your capabilities and economy. This logic is used by your generals whom don't care how many solduetsyr they lose during ops,all they care is meeting mission objectives. Poor command and control. |
NaijaPikinGidi: Recycled photographs that translate to nothing! You are groping for survival here!No need to bring new ones as you still have nothing to counter them. |
agaugust: Vickers Eagle MBT of both Nigeria and Kenyan armies are digitalized tanks, these are the only two countries that use Vickers Eagle of that version in this world, both countries got 1990s deliveries and had major digital upgrades confirmed with images and narrations from Beegeagle and Military Today website...it has video of the Vickers upgrades used by Nigeria and Kenya. You wouldn't wanna be stuck with obsolete Vickers MBT when Uganda will soon be splashing more than $400 million on more than 70 T-90 tanks. Sub-saharan countries are stuck with obsolete main battle tanks, the current ongoing campaigns shouldn't shift defence strategic planning and acquisitions. Shifting future plans to suite COIN ops will come to sting someone in the as...... really. Cause the next war won't be COIN Look around Nigeria right now

Henry120: Yes, SA army is a sophisticated as somalia army. That is how sophisticated you are.what Nigeria has ADS is advanced? Nigeria Has twin barrel guns, old spaags MANPADS and Roland missiles plus some ineffective soviet guns. All which aren't linked to the ADA command post and others with data links, any advanced air force can exhaust your missiles stocks and find your SAM positions by flying target drones like the Skua UAV over "protected" areas". Your ground based units would use missiles which could millions of dollars to take down something that cost less than what that missile's worth. |
agaugust: everywhereAre you saying project acrobat was never a SANDF project to acquire the M6 long range mortar or................ #HumblePieBaking. |
Henry120: Like I have said previously, Kenya is getting no merkava MBT. They do not have the money or force structure to deploy/support the merkava tank. You'll eat humble pie. Here's what's "outside" the MRAPS. Just the peak. Nigeria has nothing at this level.
|
Henry120: This post is just as empty as it gets. The South African air force has around 70 helicopters. Did you hear me? 70 helicopters. 1. No data links 2. No advanced C2 systems. 3. No advanced modern radars. 4. Lack of combat rescue.....a few things about your military. Battle field surveillance and target acquisition are other areas the SANDF is ahead of the Nigerian military. |
SANDF.

Henry120: The merkava is a hell of a good tank when it is part of the force structure. As a stand alone, an up-graded T-72 MBT is just as good as the merkava. The Merkava is a good tank. A Lot of people based their argument on the fact that Hezbollah destroyed a few of them and what was said on that AL Jazeera document(God's chariot) about the tank. "Digitalised" main battle tanks hold an extreme advantage over tanks on the analog side. As it was proven in Iraq when Lion of Babylon(T-72) which are the commander had to crank a wheel to turn the turret, stood no chance against the Abrams. The Merkava too can upgraded. Israel weapons like SA weapons from the 80s were design to destroy soviet supplied systems. The SA army is sophisticated. I mean you just need to compare SA and Nigeria air defense systems. |
I Henry120: Utter shameless lies.Under project acrobat the SANDF acquired long range 60mm Denel M6 mortars with a range of more than 6km. Before the world cup in 2010 marksmen rifles were bought. Used by the sharp shooter in the unit. What we did back then is new to Nigeria. Point out where I'm lying. |
SANDF Gripen.

agaugust: Comedian. Lol ![]() |
patches689: Behold the acheivements of "Africas most powerful military" [sarcasm]I thought this army was the "master of COIN". The military offensive is currently unsuccessful. The army lacks "teeth". |
mytym: @MikeZ should note @ bolded...BokoH issue in Nigeria is internal.Nigerians military operations are successful in terms of achieving their objectives but in terms of mission performance and execution. Your operations can only be described as disasters and wouldn't work against a professional, sophisticated, well trained and equipped army. The SA military is highly experienced. The tactics and weapon choices we used in the 80s are still new and adopted in your force. BH is weak compared to MK,SWAPO,AZAPO,ZIPRA,ZANU etc |
Henry120: AGL's are not common place in your SANDF.Every company in the SANDF has AGLs(Y3 automatic Grenade Launchers),Mortars(60mm long range and patrol mortars),Marksmen rifles(sharp shooters "mini snipers) and multiple grenade launchers(Y2 grenade launcher) plus other stuff.
|
Henry120: Kenya is not getting any merkava MBTs. The price of the merkava is $6 millionKenya can get surplus tanks from Israeli stocks. And don't be mistaken the Merkava is a hell of a good tank. And yes,it can integrate well into existing KDF structures. All you need to do if you're a sophisticated army like the SA army is to modify the communication systems. |
Henry120: Are you okay?weapon station? I won't even bother to post images. #Analog |
Unrelated: For those of you whom still doubt how important operational usage of weapon systems is to sales and influence over potential customers, look how sharply Israel weapons sales will rise during this conflict with Gaza. Where Israeli UAVs,tanks and other systems will see action. Armies around the world are watching and following the conflict very closely. |
The powerful army is still sending WIA( wounded in action) soldiers abroad for treatment. This here is a rebel force people. The Hilux army is weak and have no standards whatsoever. When was the last time SA had to send it's soldiers overseas cause it couldn't provide for their special treatment. |
The signing and construction of the Skyshield air defense system paves the way,for a new phase of the GBADS. This phase entails the delivery of the ground based Umkhonto missile with the Reutech RSR 320 3D missile guidance radar.
|
Henry120: Clueless.Do you know what's an automatic Grenade Launcher? Do you know that every platoon in the SANDF has AGLs,MGLs and Patmos?. You ask for AGLS and that's what you get?
|
. Even M23 was better.
