Henry120: Another long, emotional meaningless post.
when it comes to elite troops SA has the best trained, experienced, best equipped(technologically and system numbers).

SA elite forces come with anything from rocket artillery, specialist vehicles to sophisticated EW systems.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 9:29pm On Jul 25, 2014
Henry120: Does the Igirigi give you nightmares....... Oh sorry. I see you back to the other thread spreading your lies and falsehood.

Goodluck.
The Igirigi isn't that competition nor any close to other MRAPS from SA like the Marauder,Casspir-2000 etc.

If I wanted to cause mayhem from images from that thread,I'd point out major weaknesses whom your follow Nigerians are blinded by patriotism to see.

But I'd be giving BH free PR and causing fear. Which is the point of terror.

Henry120: Mapisa-Nqakula said the Defence Review -- now before Parliament -- stated unambiguously that the SANDF was in a state of decline characterised by force imbalance between capabilities, ageing technology, and unaffordability of many of its main operating systems.

You were saying?
I was saying September is around the corner.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Army's Campaign In The North Eastern Theatre (Photos) by MikeZA: 7:18pm On Jul 25, 2014
bidexiii: . Can the Igirigi APC withstand bokoharam technicals and is it in mass production .
Technicals come armed with different weapon systems from light machine guns, mortars, heavy machine guns and anti-aircraft guns.

The vehicle in question can't withstand heavy weapons.

MRAPS offer speed, protection against mines,IEDs,light infantry weapons like assault rifles. Whether from ambushes or contact with the enemy when chasing them in the bushes.

Most African militaries are yet to achieve capabilities to deploy forces in formations such as the French in Mali.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 7:00pm On Jul 25, 2014
Nigerian infantry is ill equipped compared to SANDF infantry both technologically and numerically.

It is the job of the infantry to destroy enemy infantry, hold land and protect armoured vehicles(tanks, armoured cars,IFVs etc) against the opposition's infantry during conventional battles.

After all Nigeria's army isn't that mobile meaning it isn't maneuverable. Can be easily crashed by a force similar to the SANDF.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 6:35pm On Jul 25, 2014
PrinxArthur1: 1.Egypt
2.Nigeria
3.Ethiopia
4.?
Angola,Algeria,Sudan and South Africa are more powerful than Nigeria.

it is not a problem but a fact mate.

Henry120: Full frontal view
The RG-31 is way better than thing. South Africa in military tech is way head of Nigeria.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 2:00pm On Jul 23, 2014
BH firstly become bolder in its attacks(testing the waters),after realizing that the Nigerian army is weak they're now capturing land.

Soon you'll see them capturing heavy equipment like tanks and more armoured vehicles.

THIS IS BECOMING A CIVIL WAR PASSING COIN
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 1:51pm On Jul 23, 2014
Henry120: Any Seleka crusing in geckos and SANDF utility trucks are what exactly?

Not only do we use hilux trucks, the SANDF also parade in them, including multiple other militaries across the globe.

We have hundreds of cobras, VBL's, streits, cv3 bigfoots, Igirigi's in service. Really, we do not lack armoured vehicles.
Your army lacks armoured vehicles most of them aren't operational because of your poor decisions when it comes to acquisitions and maintenance.

The SANDF has a lot of armoured vehicles than your force by our force is smaller.

The SANDF has thousands of armoured and infantry fighting vehicles.

The Hilux army is weak.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 1:45pm On Jul 23, 2014
dragon2: @ thiza
Lmao, lots of talk, no fact to disprove my post. The U.N. Says your army is piss poor, rag tag and undisciplined. Accept it. That is why you didn't head the DRC mission.
1. Poor: the SANDF spends more money on training soldiers than your defence force meaning you're the poor force.

2. Rag Tag: Your soldiers during attacks by BH run like crazy for their dear lives,no cohesiveness both physical and psychologically. Where are your sergeants?. Your defence force is rag tag force.

3. Discipline: what discipline when your army is still executing prisoners?
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 1:31pm On Jul 23, 2014
Henry120: Good, you've verified that your vehicles and geckos were captured by Seleka.
. No vehicles were captured. What was captured are Cobra vehicles from your army.

The Hilux army is a joke.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 1:23pm On Jul 23, 2014
patches689: So you proved that one out of TENS OF THOUSANDS of officers is a fraud?

Well done.

SANDF trains harder than anyone else in Africa

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkGDBczV_Tg

And we have the results to prove it.

Reminder: We killed more enemy in a "defeat" than you have killed BH to this date.

We have one of the longest range sniper kills in recorded history.

We defend towns. You lose towns and watch powerlessly as their inhabitants are slaughtered.

Your enemies parade equipment they have captured from you infront of cameras, while they violate your children.
Colonel William Dixon. The boys in CAR were commanded by this man.

As you can see his passing on latest battlefield knowledge.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 5:50pm On Jul 22, 2014
No insurgent would back then wanna come across these guys.

Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 5:13pm On Jul 22, 2014
The "Hilux army" soldiers would break rank and flee like they always do,if they had come across mechanized infantry attacking with Infantry fighting vehicles.

The spokesperson of the Nigerian army just confirmed it that soldiers run like head less chicken, when insurgents attack.

Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 12:23pm On Jul 22, 2014
BH is now capable of briefly capturing land.

Nigerian soldiers are still running when BH attacks.

I don't think this army would be able to deal with a sophisticated enemy that can hit with great precision and heavy weapons.
Foreign AffairsRe: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by MikeZA: 10:45pm On Jul 21, 2014
Helghast: Took a picture of this SANDF Battle Jacket back at the Rand Easter Show, man those guys carry a lot of Ammo
Yep,combat in Angola taught SA commanders a lot. The things we did back then and now are new to most armies.

Many were surprised by the SANDF's effective usage of mortars in offensive combat roles in the DRC.
Foreign AffairsRe: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by MikeZA: 10:39pm On Jul 21, 2014
Helghast: Oh yeah dude maybe you could answer this question for me, that why do police officers seem to have better tactical gear than soldiers? Because I noticed the same thing with Nigeria too, Officers carrying better/upgraded rifles and gear than the average soldier.
The are way many needs to consider when introducing a new standard assault rifles in the military.

Henry120: Algeria has a defence budget of 10 billion usd, so they can afford the S-300 MDS.
I think it is more than that.

Henry120: Anybody following the current conflict in GAZA? It isn't a pleasant sight at all. I'm following the conflict on Aljazeera. True, Aljazeera is pro-Arab ( anyway all news stations report the news with different political interests ), but the sights are quite disturbing.

Anyway, we got our own problem here in nigeria to deal with.
Israel will never defeat Hamas and Hamas will never defeat Israel. The state of Israel is just pushed to do what it is doing today. People need to stop taking sides.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 11:37am On Jul 15, 2014
I see Nigerians are obsessed and scared of the Badger infantry fighting vehicle. Too bad the vehicle is already undergoing OT&E(operational test and evaluation). Also people must know what they're seeing now are prototype vehicles, the production version are gonna be "totally bad as......". Extensive use of vehicles and operational experience from both COIN and conventional warfare has resulted in a force that totally knows what's needed when you go into battle in Africa. Mobility, protection, situational awareness and fire power. Unlike some whom just...............
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 11:25am On Jul 15, 2014
Henry120: Boy, stop day-dreaming. You got no money. 90% of your military budget goes to paying personnel.

Would you use your teeth to fund your defence review?

We never lacked APCs or MRAPs. We got hundreds of them.

However in your case your HIV defence force is an executive transport for ANC Bigwigs and your military is a retirement home.

"the 2012 Defence Review, says the SANDF is “critically deficient in the skill, motivation, and ethos that is required to operate"

"South Africa has the oldest infantry troops in the world"
. Lol.... The SANDF is a retirement home.

"Unfortunately, the SANDF is already sitting with an array of expensive hardware that it cannot deploy, either because it lacks the skilled crews – hence 12 mothballed Gripen aircraft – or because it can’t afford the running costs."

"The air force, for example, has been reduced to being a flying limousine service for African National Congress politicians"

" However, it’s a fact that while the SAAF’s helicopter squadrons receive a generous allocation for VIP flights – last year the Durban-based 15 Squadron got 300 hours flying time to ferry the Zuma entourage to and from Nkandla – they get very little for training and nothing at all for sea and mountain rescue."
2014 defence review=Answer. Pray for September not to come. Last time we got: 1. Gripen multi-role jets. 2. A109 light utility helicopters. 3. Lynx maritime helicopters. 4. Submarines. 5. Frigates. Every Gripen is flown within 3 months. The "Hilux army" has no APCs and IFVs its air force counterparts lack reccon equipment(pods,UAVs etc) to find targets.

agaugust: Yes you are correct my brother, the evil in Sambisa forest is same as you have in South African society.
Nope,I'm not your brother. I can tell you now that while the world's attention is focused on Gaza, your government will bow down to BH's demands. To free those kidnapped girls.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 9:11pm On Jul 14, 2014
Henry120: Nothing suprising in the report. Not like we expected the AIDS carrying SANDF to perform any better.
2014 Defence review=Answer. How many soldiers does Nigeria lose each week? The "Hilux army" is weak and ill equipped. Even Koevoet went on patrols with Casspir APCs.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by MikeZA: 9:02pm On Jul 14, 2014
agaugust: ...inside South Africa.
Yes,BH call Sambisa forest "South Africa".

patches689: Neither do the Germans, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Finnish, Swedish or Norwegian militaries.

Just because a man has never personally done something... does it mean that he cannot be trained to do something?

Reminder: American soldiers with no combat experience annihilated the Iraqi army which had over a decade of combat experience

Nigerian special forces have ZERO conventional combat experince... Nigeria has never fought a serious war against a well trained well supplied enemy in its entire history.

And the final nail in your coffin... there are still very many men with combat experience.

Pic related, men with more combat experience than Nigeria could ever dream of.
And they're wearing Maroon berets.

patches689: Even the Intelligence Corps have a Recon wing - which is supposedly Regiment Sized

(pic related)

I guess he cannot tell the difference between Recon or Recce or SF or SOF or indeed light infantry grin grin

Augugubgugug let me explain the numerous SF/SOF units in South Africa (both Apartheid and Modern SANDF)

Tier 1:

- Recce SOF/SF
- Navy Divers SOF (now known as Operational Diving Division)

All are still in existence

Tier 1 Police SOF/SF

- SAPS Special Task Force
- Koevoet (disbanded)

Tier 2
- Pathfinders (sub unit of the 44 Parachute Brigade)
- 7th Medical Battalion

Tier 3 ie "elite" or role specific units
- Tactical Intelligence Regiment
- MRS
- Parabats
- 6 SAI
- SAPS Tactical Response Team (Amaberete)

*yeah, well, maybe TIR and MRS and 6 SAI shouldent be there
10/10.

agaugust: Nigerian special forces k.illed the original Boko Haram leader Shekau in battle inside his own heavily defended forest camp.

History tells us that South African special forces were NEVER able to k.ill Angolan guerrilla top leaders in many years of Bush War....so who is the boss?....Nigeria !
They died in their hundreds in Angola. In the DRC M23 commanders were so afraid that they stopped parading their commanders, after fire was directed to them precisely. Shekau is still alive.
