This project is neither for the poor nor the rich. It was built to attract foreign exchange from European visitors not to be recycling Nigerian currency.

It is not built for Nigerians. It is built for Nigerians to use in making money of other nationals who come as tourists so if I see any houseboy there, I'll make sure he's arrested.

Well those of you that are saying rubbish about TINAPA, I wonder why you didn't complain when SHOPRITE was being built in Lekki, or when SILVERBIRD GALLERIA was being constructed in Victoria Island.

Armed Robbers, Food Poisoning, Bad Roads, MILITIA, wetin Calabar do you sef?

And since some people from Cross Rivers too are saying this project is misplaced, I am begging them to uproot it and replace it in Edo State where Lucky's major project is the movement of a pedestrian bridge from UBTH Gate to UNIBEN Gate.

Since it is misplaced, please let them replace it to Edo state and we will use prayers to force every Calabar indigene to heaven.
Na wah oh!  Na wetin be all this?  Calabar has not done anything to me oh!  I have spoken about Edo, Yoruba, Ijaw, Igbos, hausas, and other ethnic groups in Nigeria based on the topics were are discussing!  Why the bad belle?  The point is that nothing in Nigeria is worth the "hello" about since it does not reflect in the lives of the common Nigerian!  When all these things you mentioned are accessible to our gatemen, househelps, purewater sellers, drivers and so on, then you can tell me about progress!  Catering to the rich and famous does not do "it" for me! What the f**k is goin on here, in the first part of the thread, some a**holes are blaming the southerners as the one's criminalising Nigeria's image abroad. All the resources that is sustaining Nigeria till date are from the south, if those f**king northerners have not embezzle our resources why will Nigerians be leaving the country, let alone commit financial crimes. Also, all those Nigerians who have been beheaded in KSA and other middle eastern countries are from the north, f**k them. Sh*t.

God knows how you can produce such contradictory comments 1 & 2 within the same statement. You are simply not listening to yourself.
In No. 1 you advocate detribalism and immediately in 2 you advocate tribalism.

I think I must appologise for engaging you in a debate, you are simply not in my league.
Thank you sir! I can contradict myself to show your logic! Tribalism benefits you if it means killing every other Nigerian to save your precious hides! Y'ardua is only doing what we expect him to do! Protect his own! He is only reflecting your logic not mine! It may not be what I believe but in sarcasm, it is to show your level of ignorance and tribal stupidity! Since you cannot kill your own brothers where they are the most corrupt, do not expect any other tribe to do the same! Period! Have I spelled it out for you!

The point is that do not expect Nigerians to progress with sentiments like yours! embarassed I say I dey shame for you! As for choosing not to debate with me--- all well and good! It is your prerogative! My feelings aint hurt! One less Calabar person I do not have to deal with! grin

Militia you'll probably accuse me again on this, but what is your evidence that 'he did no better than his fellow PDP execu-thieves'?

there was recent flooding in parts of India and Pakistan due to excessive rainfall, even in parts of Britain a few weeks back, freak weather phenomena are not under the control of anyone. If the flooding problem is perennial, however, then it would be a different case.

If we had good meteorological records we could tell if the rainfall was more than usual to cause flooding, lacking that, claiming TINAPA was a misplaced project needs to be buttressed properly.

Simply because CR doesn't have the best medical facilities in the nation (in your own estimation) doesn't mean the facilities have been neglected.

I don't know how many private equity investors would put money in a hospital project, unless it was set up for profit. Duke seems to have performed much better than his peers, with visible imprints on the landscape left for posterity. If his vision doesn't fit in with your idea of 'prioritization' (a word that doesn't exist by the way cheesy ) you are truly entitled to your opinion.
You have come again with your need for "evidence"! grin

I am not going to join issues with you if truly you are a "lady". Honestly I have always wondered why of all names a Nigerian girl will choose to bear MILITIA.  I doubt if you are a lady, I even doubt if you are even a southerner like you proclaim.

May be if you are confident enough to represent your true identity I will have response for you.

1)  My state of origin does not matter because we are not competing on the basis or tribal sentiments and ignorance!  I am thinking in terms of Nigeria and not in terms of any bloaady region in Nigeria!

2)Yup!  When OBJ was president how many southerners did he prosecute?  Now you want Y'ardua to kill his own brothers in the name of corruption? grin

3) Whether I am male, female, transgendered, fishmale or "it" is irrevelant!  It is not a personal issue!  I couldn't care less if you are the "messiah" of the world!  Just stick to the issues discussed and stop trying to nose into my personal "bizz"!  I am not here to make friends! cool  I gat enough already! That's strange. And you're from the Niger Delta. Anyways, UST is known by all in Portharcourt and beyond as the ''short form'' for Rivers State University of Science and Technology. People removed the RS bit from it to come up with UST.

I think I'll rather live with a noise-making educated- illiterate, than a silent illiterate. Who knows, I could glean some stuff from the noise he/she is making.
UST----whatever! I left Naija 18 years ago and so do not remember all the acronyms for all the establishments over there!  Besides, you all always come up with all kinds of names one cannot understand! grin  Thanks for the education!  So we have Universities of Science and Technologies in Nigeria and the country still looks like it does? shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked Cannot even produce "spoke" for bicycle!

Also you make me laff! grin grin grin grin grin-----A semi-illiterate is even worse with half-baked education and a whole latta misinformation.  This group of people can make things up as they go along, thereby looking really riduculous! As for the stack illiterates, we know where they stand at all times!.  I think I prefer the stark illiterates oh! grin They are more humble and are usually humble because they know that they have a lot to learn!  Your half-baked illiterates will fool you with arrogance and too much pride then pretend to be a doctor---only to open you up to perform surgery! shocked  Then you end up in the morge!  God forbid! grin Semi-illiterates do not know their limits and they have no bounderies!  This set of people is extremely dangerous---and unforturnately make the most noise to compensate for a highly ignorant state!  Tufia-kwa!

Believe me folks, it's not about DUKE.

Yes, he's a little bit smarter than the rest, by stealing the minimum and by also producing couple of things for his people just to polish up his image; other than that, there is nothing special about the man.
He's a member of the Nigerian "gang star".

No one wants to take responsibility; typical Nigerian style.

How long is this stupidity will continue?

Who cares where the problem is coming from?

Nigerians will spend 20 years pointing fingers and rejecting the responsibility, while the other countries are busy discovering wonders and implementing better ways to develop their nations.

Enough of this nonsense. It's time to wake up, join hands and find a way to make things right in Nigeria.

Yup!  Very funny!  ha ha ha!

You are asking all these dumb questions because of your inability to see that they are hypothetical questions!  Let me spell it out for you!  It means "if" you are sick "for example"------
As for the state of your hospitals, why did Y'ardua not go and treat his "Cartarrh" there instead of going to Germany?  Why did Atiku not go to treat his "Osteoporosis" there in Calabar instead of going to London?  Late Stella OBJ and Alamayesiegha could have gone there too breast and tummy tucks now!

Why are people still sending their relatives out of the country to school and receive medical treatment out of Calabar?  I do not see any research projects your Calabar Memorial Tinapa Hospital has carried out oh!  May be the reason people to go to school or receive treatment in Calabar is because you guys have a long waiting list over there.  I guess business is so gooooooooooooood, that people are being turned away because these facilities are highly patronized!  Rubbish! embarassed Please go and sit down somewhere and count sheep till you fall asleep!  Ya brain no dey function properly!  Prioritization darling---Prioritization!  Mugu! grin

I beg pardon my ignorance. What is UST?

ono:
good education for our people, what is it that's preventing us from getting this donIf we are so blessed in the delta to provide e?

Nigerian graduates that are doing very well in their course of study in many other universities around the world. A lot of them are from UST.
Please help me answer your question oh! I do not know the purpose of an education if you cannot use it!

I agree that Nigerian graduates survive in other countries because I am one of those who schooled in a Nigerian University then came here for a second degree. But this is not the norm. I know what I had to do to be able to measure up to the standards over here, because Nigerian universities did not prepare me for the kind of education practiced outside of Nigeria. Do you know what Nigerians face outside the country to survive academically? No one will tell you that part.

It is called "RETRAINING"! Nigeria's educatinal system is for the most part "inadequate"! I had to re-train myself to fit in here. So while illiteracy might be prevalent in the north where education was not a really a priority in the past. In the southern part of Nigeria, you say you have graduates but they are no better that the northern counterparts who did not go at all! How do you explain this? shocked Most southerners may make a lot of noise, but they do not sound educated for the most part! So what's the beef? embarassed
