WrriterNig:Please stop amplifying racist voices or newspapers |
WrriterNig:It pains me to see this happen in France. She is a country that has been very dear to my heart just behind Nigeria even before I did my Masters there. I hate most of France's foreign policies, especially it's atrocities in Francophone Africa and some of her politicians including that bitch Marine Le Pen but I do not hate the country or it's people neither do I pray for her downfall nor destruction. IMO, Protesters should lose any form of protection or legitimacy once there is violence, looting and destruction of public properties. If you want to protest, protest against institutions and not private individuals and businesses. I stopped supporting EndSars when they started burning buses and destroying public facilities in my home city. I hope Macron is able to grow some balls and do the needful cos I just saw a video of so called "protesters" firing live rounds at CCTV cameras. |
Dc14:Which of it don't you agree with? How many single fathers are there compared to single mothers raising a child into teenage years alone? It is very rare. Unless the man is really really poor. Most single fathers whether divorced, widowed or getting someone pregnant in their early years tend to marry or remarry sometimes in the child early years. The child they have custody of gets a mother figure in the woman their father later marries. The ones they don't have custody of end up getting raised by family members and single mothers. |
Hamachi:I really enjoyed reading your reply. Back to the topic. No; You alone cannot teach a son on how to be a man. I grew up in a lower middle class environment with a very alarming rate of single motherhood. In fact, our building had 4 single mother tenants and I had to befriend, play and go to school with plenty of guys who were raised by single moms. My observations are the following; - There is an absence of a father's authority and discipline. Despite the women's effort, many of the male children become delinquent. For those with the presence of an involved father, the situation is mostly different. In fact, the threat of "I'll tell your father when he comes back" by your mother is enough to turn you straight. I am sure you yourself have heard the phrase " I go tell your papa" quite often. - It tends to open up the children to all forms of abuse by their peers and other members of the society. From physical abuse to bullying to sexual abuse etc. because most times, members of the society have no one to fear. - They tend to be very emotional and sensitive just like women. Take decisions with emotions and no logic. And to hide their sensitivity, they become unnecessarily aggressive. As we know, aggressiveness leads to delinquency which leads to a violent street attitude which then leads to a life of crime. - Crime; My God. That's the most significant effects. All of the factors I have listed contribute to it. Our streets, our schools can just turn upside down in the blink of an eye. I always had to wear "civilian clothes" under my school uniform just in case of trouble which could happen anytime. From Lagos to London where the teenage sons of these single mothers are stabbing each other to the US where "a child raised without a father is five times more likely to commit crime and be poor, nine-times more likely to drop out of school, and 20 times more likely to end up in jail or prison". The situation is the same. - As we all know, the absence of a father is the single most important cause of poverty. Too bad Nigeria doesn't have a statistics. *For the US, Children living in female-headed families with no spouse present have a poverty rate of 45.8 percent, over four times the rate of children in married-couple families (9.5 percent) |
okeysoninv:This man will not sleep well tonight. All your supposed hope and prophecies have all been crushed in a matter of hours ![]() |
dvkot:That's it. But the main highlight of the day for me was how almost every unit was declaring for Putin. There was effectively no defections amongst the military rank and file. It would have been bloody but quick. Russian National Guard would have ultimately won and the SMO is Ukraine would have suffered. |
dvkot:That's surely what will happen. But it pains me because it is a big dent on Wagner PMC and it's going to undermine their positive role in the history and security of Russia. I'm sure when this is over. They'll find a way to get rid of Prigozhin and bring Wagner under the wings of the Ministry of Defense. I think Wagner functions well as an independent entity. |
Procashtips:Isn't it obvious already that it's a coup. The goal is simply to seize government buildings and arrest/detain leaders of the government. I don't know if that will include Putin or Medvedev but I know for sure that he will ask for the arrest and dismissal of Shoigu and Gerasimov. I am more interested in whether the Russian Army/ National Guard will open fire to defend these government buildings. He can't be on the road to the Capital. Putin would just have to order a strike to take him out and the insurrection will be over. I'm sure he is in a bunker in the Rostov region. I mean, all it would take is a Martyr to put bullets in his head, end the coup and posthumously become Hero of Russia if he is foolish enough to expose himself and be on the road to Russia. See the case of Turkey in 2016. One of the main coup plotters, General Semir Terzi led other officers to takeover the headquarters of the Special Forces. They disarmed the guards and took control of the building. One Army officer walked behind them and gave the General three headshots. Though the army officer was later killed, it meant there was no senior officer to take over the headquarters of the Special Forces and therefore the Special Forces could be used against the coup plotters. It was even caught on video. |
dermmy:It has always been the goal. Now they have found a willing collaborator with a large army and lots of ambitions. With the head of Wagner, they can achieve that and also undermine Russian war efforts in Ukraine. That was what Germany did in 1917 with Lenin and it was successful. The difference this time is that the Russian people are firmly behind Putin due to the Russophobic actions of the West in the past year. There has also been no defections to the Wagner side. And unless there are high profile military defections in the coming days, it will end just that like how that of Turkey ended in 2016. With the actions of Prigozhin, it will only end in two ways; In power or in the grave. There are no in-betweens. And if it fails as it likely looks, it will only consolidate Putin in power for the unforseeable future. |
Everything smells like a fiancee who was caught cheating and decided to say she was raped. That was how my then University babe who contracted Gonorrhea from a guy lied that he raped her. I "forgave" her, bleeped her well for the next three years and dumped her ass. Once a cheater, always a cheater. I hope "Mr Peter" learns. If you like, forgive a cheater. Okafor's Law will always come into play. ✓ Entered a room to greet and decided to take alcohol that you claim dull your senses. ✓ Took alcohol with the agreement that a man will take you to your fiance's room to sleep. I thought she was about to leave. Now she is talking about sleeping over after taking the alcohol. ✓ A supposed fiancee started dancing with another man in a locked room. |
jagaban002:Lonergem If you listen to them that Elebu light is stable, you're in for a long thing. I have been here for a while now and they only bring their light at midnight between 1,2,3 am and take it before or by 5am. They can decide to flash it for like 5 or 10 minutes at 6:30am. Sometimes you're lucky to have light at 2 or 3pm for two or three hours. Every other time is total blackout. Coming here has been a mistake. A lot of very very bad road and epileptic power supply. I used to have over 20+ hours of light daily before coming here. Generator noises will nearly make you deaf. |
Skyline hotel Osogbo. Has a 3k room. It's in ogo-oluwa. Around gof area. Mudashiru Aresa avenue off Agbaje street. You can use Google map to get it |
Faithti:I'm sure the thousands of I mean, it's funny how someone who claims to be obsessed with the Vietnam war will make such a statement. You're so into it that you forgot to read about the Tiger Force who were notorious for routinely murdering Vietnamese villagers and wearing their ears as necklaces. |
Donjazet2:You chose the wrong person to be proud of. First, Obama can be classed as White. I'm sure he himself didn't identify as African cos if he did, he wouldn't as the president of the then greatest country in the world invade the motherland. The same man contributed to the instability in Africa, reduced a once prosperous Libya into ruins, directly and indirectly causing millions of deaths in Africa including in Nigeria by supplying millions of Libya weapons to insurgent groups and terrorists like Boko Haram across Africa. Are we talking about the same man who caused thousands of deaths of your fellow countrymen by sanctioning Nigeria because GEJ refused to legalize the "Alphabet people"? Obama dropped the most bombs of any president in history when not at war. That man killed more civilians than the rulers of the so-called dictator countries. No doubt that the US recognize the rights of its citizens. Do they recognize the rights of those who are not US citizens? We are not Americans so its democracy doesn't concern us when all they do is dropping bombs on those who are not their citizens. I hope you know that the US is currently sponsoring the genocide and forced displacement of Palestinians. Maybe you can start your condemnation from there. China and Russia doesn't go about stoking instability or influencing regime change in Africa. The US is only interested in war, instability, regime change. China has the most investments in Africa. And we are talking about Trains, infrastructure, airports and not Military bases like the other country I won't mention. Finally, no one is calling for the annihilation of the US. We are supporting Russia and China because they are helping to checkmate a bully. Syria survives as a country because of Russia. Now Just imagine that there is nothing standing in their way. I'm sure half of Africa would have been invaded. |
Rubbish. By the second month, go and start getting it outside. If your income isn't big enough to accommodate sustaining a girlfriend, reduce your share of the family expenses minus those of the children and use the rest to take care of your own needs. Your own needs matter too. Whatever you do as a man, make sure you have options. |
Appleyard:Mehn, soldiers are trying o. I don't think I can be one. Imagine sending a handful of soldiers to Russia for what is clearly a suicide mission for PR purposes. More than half of those guys will surely end up dead in a few days. They cannot hold the place for long, are far from reinforcements and will definitely not get any military support. Is there any kind of indoctrination going on in the military? Cos I can't imagine myself going on such missions. I'd rather defect or go AWOL |
Ibime:This man speaks with all emotions and zero facts. Do you know that Russia has the 4th largest immigrant population? |
Ibime:Does this man understand what food security is? People are complaining of food insecurity and skipping meals, you're bringing the price of raw goods and saying they can't be food insecure because their minimum wage can buy x amounts of a particular food. I think the increasing number of food insecure households and food bank users will disagree with you. https://lordslibrary.parliament.uk/cost-of-living-food-price-inflation/ |
stanluiz:Of course, they will not stop. They get to weaken a potential rival with popular support from their citizens without losing any of their own men or cities. And as it seems, Ukraine is readily available to provide a fodder for NATO and Russia itself is not providing any clear deterrence. I'm pro-Putin and while I do not know Russia's military strategies, it's concerning that so many supposed red lines have been crossed without any action other than releasing statements and firing a few missiles into Kiev. At the beginning of the SMO, everyone was scared to provide Ukraine with offensive weapons. Ukraine has now been given weapons that constituted the "red lines" at the beginning of the SMO. Ukraine has been given tanks, medium and longe range missiles that have been used to attack inside Russia. There is also the attack on the Crimea bridge that the West and everybody else thought constituted a clear red line that might cause nuclear response, there is the attack on the Kremlin, the numerous high-profile assassinations inside Russia and today a commitment for Jets including F-16s. At this point, I'm tempted to ask if Russia has any red lines at all. |
Ireportlive:Lol. The difference is that in Sweden, there is no incentive for the olosho to cover up for you. Doing olosho in Sweden is legal, patronising olosho in Sweden is the illegal stuff. That's why the post says only buyers were arrested. A group of confused simps must be the people who made the law. Btw, I believe this is old news. Nowadays, the men just go into neighbouring Poland where the sex is even cheaper. And with the influx of Ukrainians into Europe, I'm sure Swedish prostitutes are out of business by now. |
Goke7:Leave them. They are always chest-beating. They did the same with Buhari. He called them Five-percenters and "sent the python to dance whenever they tried to give him trouble" and yet like Tinubu will, he spent 8 years. I urge the president-elect to let the easterners be. They can forment trouble, destroy their communities, attack their brothers manning government buildings and facilities, call UN, ECOWAS, UK, EU etc like their IPOB kinsmen. The president-elect should just make sure it is all limited to the East. |
Ceenaija:But he has already made it na. Contested and won the Presidential election. What's more to win in politics than that? |
whyteteeth:I can't say much about the UK. But I believe the difference in the tuition for for France can take care of your living expenses for one year. But if I have the money, I'll choose the UK unless you speak French to a certain proficient level. Easier to get a student job, easier to navigate day to day activities, easier to make friends and more especially, no language barrier. The French are very snobbish and will make no effort to speak English to you everywhere apart from your University. I spent a semester there and despite speaking French up to level A2, I had difficulties navigating daily activities. Thank God for my Cameroonian classmate, if not ehn. While it's much easier to stay back in France due to not requiring sponsorship, you're more likely to end up underemployed and stuck in menial jobs due to the language barrier. Almost every job requires French proficiency in France and you'll be competing against North and Francophone Africans who make up the bulk of immigrants in France and who speaks fluent French. |
Happy to learn that nobody died. I wonder the kind of buildings they build nowadays that a single truck could bring it down. Seems like the truck driver is in debt now. |
Godjone:In the same vein, I hope the "literate voters" in the East will be sensible enough to revolt against their illiterate leaders and at least stop sitting at home on Mondays. I also pray they revolt against unknown gunmen so they can live in their region peacefully and stop becoming refugees everywhere. |
Why not try to apply for professional jobs also? |
PoliteActivist:Omo, can't do the gay thing. Even if it's just documentation alone. Thanks. |
PoliteActivist:The point is how do I know which ones to go to? Immigrant lawyers? Pakistanis? |
beelon1020:I mean, I will never understand why Nigerians who are in debt and struggling with school fees never consider withdrawing their wards temporarily to free government schools until they are back on their feet. |
