Since you didn't mention his state; let me give you a breakdown. 270 dollars will feed him for a month. 270 dollars is what he will earn working 38 hours on the federal minimum wage. |
Sorry if I'm derailing but I just want to rant here. I applied thinking my masters GPA was 3.7. I basically just converted my overall masters grade from my grading system to the canadian one, using the international grade equivalency on their website. If they had done it semester by semester, it would have been 3.8. But they did it course by course and now I'm left with a 3.44 grade. Please what are my chances. I applied to McGill and Utoronto for both funded masters and PhD. |
Pavore9:Putting this out for those interested in cheap flight tickets. Tickets don't have to be expensive if you know where to look unless it is compulsory to use BA. I booked for someone for 10th October (Turkish airlines) and there was more than 200k difference between the price and BA. For those trying to cut down on flight tickets, use skyscanner.net and you can save close to $700 than using BA. They might not be direct flights though and may usually have one stopover. https://www.skyscanner.net/transport/flights/LOS/LOND?oym=2010&selectedoday=01&iym=2010&selectediday=01 |
Please can my wife get a tier 2 sponsorship with a degree in Public health? What job positions or employer should we be targeting? Cc; mimilyrics |
lovewins:I think everyone who has issue with paying online can use Wallets by flutterwave. It's on playstore. They give you a virtual US ATM card which you can fund in Naira and pay whatever fees you need to pay. I don't know how much other banks charge but flutterwave charges N472/$. |
Skymoore1004:I'm not the person you quoted but I feel I'm qualified to answer since I also studied in Germany and plan on moving to the UK with family too. For me, it's firstly the language. Not being fluent reduces your chance of socializing, networking and of course, getting a good job. God help you if you're not in a big city. Secondly, it's difficult to bring your family over to Germany unlike the UK as a student. In Germany, your spouse and child, depending on their age are expected to at least pass the minimum German language requirement. And besides it's better to bring your partner over to a country when there isn't a large barrier like language to employment prospects. That way, both of you can work and contribute to the upkeep of the house. Lastly, I don't know how true this is. But with UK leaving the EU, I believe there are better prospects for a even playing field between non-EU citizens and EU citizens. |
mimilyrics:Thank you mimi. Yes, I'm only applying to schools that prodigy is available in. |
People, I visited the UK last year and loved it. Not necessarily because it was better than the countries I've lived in but my God, it felt to so good conversing with people freely in a language I speak fluently unlike my life in Germany where I struggled badly with the language. Now I'm in Nigeria and I want to go back to the UK and I need advice. I apologise if these questions have been asked earlier. - I already have a Masters degree, will it be an issue at the embassy if I should apply for a one-year Masters in Management or MBA. The goal is to change from STEM to Management. - What are the odds of getting a visa if I'm using a loan for tuition such as prodigy finance etc. Especially as I plan on going with my wife and kid. I'll rather not go anywhere if my family is not coming with me. I've had 5 European study/visit visas including for the UK while she will be applying with a fresh passport. - What are the odds of securing a graduate job after study. This is an important aspect. - I see information that my wife is allowed to work in the UK and without restrictions. How true is this? |
Looks like scam. The short deadline is deliberate. They know you live far and expect you to be desperate. Once you're desperate, you'll ask for it to be sent to you and then they'll ask you for "delivery fees". My two cents. |
Prettybhoy:No. Prepare to sell at 70-80% |
Prettybhoy:Apart from selling it yourself offline to any person, you can try ebay.de or any other online site you know of. Pawnshops are the only one I know that would buy it from you immediately. But they do need a receipt with your name on it (very important most of the time) to avoid buying stolen goods. I haven't lived in Munich so I can't direct you to one specifically, but input "pfandhaus munich" or "Leihhauser Munich" on Google Map. It should bring you a list of pawnshops and you can select the one closest to you. |
Shamzy25:I'll advise you as a brother. Please think of another country. I once studied in Romania and the country is really poor. Minimum wage (240€/month) is very low compared to EU standards, jobs are hard to come by and Romanians are leaving their country in droves and then again, you don't speak Romanian. Unless you're going to study there first, that country is a no no for hustling. Look for another one. |
lawsmith8:Ole Ajibole. 100k as agent fees for a 150k apartment. How many times will LASG enforce that agent fees should not exceed 10% |
One of the things I'm grateful for in life. Imagine dating or marrying a girl who doesn't bring a lot of baggages and headaches. That was how I used to date a single mother. Perfect woman but imagine being young and handsome and you're already carrying someone else's baggages for them. I also remember telling her early on that I'll not live with or take care of another man's child. The day she brought the boy to my house, I left home immediately and told her to return the boy before I come back. I had to deal with being number two as the son comes first, the baby's father calling everytime and they are discussing about 'their son, the grandmother calling almost everyday that the son wants to speak to her, the baby daddy coming to see the son and they are discussing for hours, the baby-daddy family calling over the son, being in a competition with 2 others , having to deal with the insecurity of whether they are fucking when meeting over 'their son etc. Now imagine having to deal with none of these. When I travelled abroad and told her I am not sure I could do 'long-distance stuffs, you can guess who she has been cohabiting with since then. The same "Lowlife she hated". The worst choice a single man can do is date or marry a single mother. Let baby-daddies and baby-mamas deal with themselves. You can always get single women who aren't "After-One". |
The issue with the Fire Station beside Akesan Market was not that they did not have water. If our friends in the opposition were as interested in the progress of Oyo State as they were in spreading malicious lies, they would have found out that the fire truck had developed a mechanical fault with its gear. Nigerians are their own problem. Maybe it is nepotism or the fact that money has exchanged hands, I don't know. See a supposed learned person's silly view on why the fire services didn't act on a fire that consumed the livelihood of hundreds of people. A whole Oyo town fire service having only one fire truck. Even when the said fire truck was faulty, there was no one with brain to tell them to repair a single mechanical fault. How will Nigeria get better when everyone is just shielding incompetency. Rather than praise him for the good works and admonish him for the bad ones, a silly goose is here writing long articles and blaming the opposition for propaganda. |
seunmsg:This is interesting. But does that mean everyone from the 388 polling units voted for APC and none for the other parties? APC seem to be the only beneficiary which is quite fishy. And I am wondering why the other parties somehow got 0 votes in all 388 polling units. |
thorpido:This is not entirely true. You still need an affidavit for your daughter's name. I have the same Issue in that the middle name on my birth certificate is different from my middle name. Everywhere I tender the birth certificate, I have to accompany it with the affidavit. |

I honestly don't know what's wrong with Abinbev. I applied last year and got to the Business Games. Unfortunately it came at a bad time and I told them I'll be unable to attend. They told me I'll join from this year's business games but in Europe where I'm based. This year, I emailed the recruiter, no response. I started again from the scratch this year, passed all the assessments and the only email I have received up to date is that the recruitment process is ongoing |
Lol. |
My brother, you are too jobless to have read over 100 articles on how to get women. Go to school, study well, come out smart, chase a career, get some accomplishments in your career, have some financial security and watch the girls come chasing. Nowadays, I get a barrage of messages from women even though I hide my online status, read status and last seen on most applications. |
Turantula:Go and check the history books. How many of the attempted invaders from the earliest beginning were a source of income for the Yoruba slave traders. We used them to better our economy by trading them for as small as brandy then ![]() Maybe they didn't teach you also that Illorin itself was the Slave capital of Yorubaland. That's where the Northern invaders cum slaves were kept to work and toil for the Oyo empire. The remnants were only saved and recruited for the eventual assault by Afonja who was the General of Yorubaland at the time. And lastly, the Yorubas did not care about Illorin and it's inhabitants. After the Ibadan army sacked the invaders, enslaved and traded the captured ones for guns, we left the traitors on their own. We would never accept back those who planned with the enemy against their own. Even mainstream Yorubas do not consider Illorin and its inhabitants one of us any longer. I grew up to family members telling us never to bring Illorin people home as partners. Over here, they call Illorin ilu Afonja, meaning the land of traitors. |
etrouble:Yes, Usman Dan Fodio is a terrorist. Maybe they forgot to educate you on history but I will. Usman Dan Fodio is a terrorist just like the likes of ISIS who invaded Northern Nigeria with fellow terrorists from countries such as Mali, killing women and children in the process so as to FORCEFULLY CONVERT them to Islam. A terrorist who kept as many as 3 million slaves back in the Sokoto Caliphate and tried to replicate the same in Western Nigeria. It was CONVERT or DIE or be Enslaved. He failed multiple times till he died in his bid to terrorise Yorubaland and forcefully convert us to Islam due to the gallantry of men of the Old Oyo empire. It was only his grandson who would later succeed, albeit temporarily due to the treachery of Afonja before they would be chased out by the newly formed Ibadan Army. If you know something else about Usman Dan Fodio, you have been sold a dummy. I hope I have taught you some history today. And Yes, I'm proudly Yoruba and I have no business with Ojukwu or any of the sacrificial agbari grandfathers. |
Excaperx:I have always wondered why real Nigeria history is not taught in school. Same way our textbooks and schools are telling us Usman Dan Fodio, the Terrorist was a great man. watch this space. I'll modify later and give you my version of the events. MODIFIED. PLEASE LET ME FINISH BEFORE YOU START QUOTING HALF-BAKED STORY . January 1966, A group of young soldiers led a coup against the government. They were led by 8 Majors of the Nigerian Army, 7 Igbos and one Yoruba (Major Ademoyega). They cited corruption as the reason for the coup but of course, it may be true or not but we will never know. The coup plotters murdered the major Nigerian leaders at that time. Major casualties include: Prime minister, Tafawa Balewa; Ahmadu Bello, Premier of Northern Nigeria; Ladoke Akintola, Premier of Western Nigeria and Festus Okotie-Eboh (finance minister, an Itsekiri man). The coup was later repressed by the Army led by Aguiyi-Ironsi who was the most senior officer at the time and seized power for himself. Now this is where it gets interesting. The coup plotters did not murder the Premier of Eastern Nigeria, Michael Opara(Igbo), the President, Nnamdi Azikwe (Igbo and not in Nigeria at the time of the coup), the acting President at the time, Nwafo Orizu (Igbo, Senate President). In truth, no major Igbo casualty. Aguiyi Ironsi who later seized power through the coup was also Igbo and did not execute or even arrest any of the coup plotters (A very big mistake considering that plotting coups =Death). One of the coup leaders, Major Nzeogwu even granted a BBC interview smiling on National television narrating how he had killed Ahmadu Bello and his wife. The North took this as Igbos going ahead to "dominate Nigeria" after Aguiyi-Ironsi cancelled the autonomy of each of the three regions and centralised power with his unitary system of governance. Ahmadu Bello had earlier accused the Igbos of planning to dominate Nigeria before he was murdered, which was the main reason why he started his Northernization policy. The lack of Igbo casualties, the non-punishment of the coup plotters and Ironsi centralizing power and taking away the freedom of the three regions increased the fear of Igbo domination and led to the counter-coup where Aguiyi-Ironsi was murdered and deposed. Northerners also started the 1966 anti-Igbo pogrom where Igbos in Northern Nigeria were massacred for months. Ojukwu would subsequently secede from Nigeria and declare the Republic of Biafra.. To answer your questions. 1. No. Gowon and Ahmadu Bello did not plan it. Ahmadu Bello had been murdered before the war and the North did the counter-coup with the intention of actually seceding from the Nigerian Union. Also, Regionalism was already in play before that and it was an Igbo, Aguiyi-Ironsi that stopped the regionalism in favor of the Unitary system. So it's false. 2. If Ojukwu had seceded with the Igbos alone, there would have been no war. But oil had been discovered, Ojukwu wanted it, Nigeria wanted it. France also saw it as an avenue to add a new African state to Francophone Africa, an oil rich one at that. So in truth, the war was not about the people, it was about oil. Ojukwu vs Nigeria for the oil, France vs Britain for control of the oil. 3. He knew too well he would not get support from the West given they we were casualties of the coup also and also from the Midwest because they knew the war wasn't about them or the people, it was due to the fact that Biafra leaders wanted control of their oil wealth. |
NzeBasil:Buying from fabricators. As long as you know what you're getting quality-wise and insist on warranty with them. FIIRO actually source for their machines from local fabricators. |
Akannigbabe:Use Tinder gold. Set your location to Ghana and arrange women there before you arrive. |
milehigh06:Please, you people should stop this what the west did to Africans. It should be rather what the Africans did to other Africans. I blame the UK and France for colonialism but never for Slavery. From the Old Oyo, Benin, Borno empires to the Sokoto caliphate, Nigerians from East to West dealt in Slavery and it was a major source of income for many in the African empires. The Europeans did not come to take Africans by force, your ancestors sold them to the Europeans. Sokoto caliphate at its peak has more than 2 million slaves. A huge number considering the low population at that time. The likes of Efunsetan Aniwura and Madam Tinubu comes to mind. These foolish idiots even refused to stop dealing in slaves when the British outlawed it. The West has built their country but every other African who wants to build his country is quickly brought down by other Africans. The likes of Thomas Sankara and Kwame Nkrumah comes to mind. We are our own problem. BTW, I'm a Nigerian in Germany, with a Masters degree from here and I know what it's like to be where you're not wanted. |
frozen70:I wonder why men feel there is a need to tell the women before a DNA test is conducted, not even with the way technology has advanced in the last years. Just take the child for a routine "blood test" or take a mouth swab when you take the kids out or simply just take the cup the child drinks from to any DNA centre. No arguments, no noise, no one needs to know anything and you finally get that peace of mind, well unless the test comes back negative. meanwhile, here is a story from Ghana, https://www.nairaland.com/4732620/dna-test-confirms-emmanuel-tagoe |
