Are you teaching on the spirit, soul and body of man or the descendants of David? What do you mean by saying the animals are souls that aren't merged with God's Spirit? The Word is Jesus Christ (John 1:1-12) not the Holy Spirit. How can you say that Israelis are not the Israelites of the bible? That they are 'imposters'? Are you also saying that we (Nigerians) are the real Israelites (Judah being Negro and all that) ? Your explanation of Rev. 12:14 is sad. Read it from verse 4 down to 14. Your write doesn't match your topic and your teaching is misleading. You isolate specific chapters and verses to support your inference, failing to cover complete meaning. You use the bible to support your points instead of the other way around. |

Kalvan: Makes absolutely no sense. The kid's car models don't move or work! He's no better than a sculptor/toymaker.Why does Africa always celebrate mediocrity?! Are you sure you know about car design? Moving cars are built by teams of engineers and you expect him to build one all by himself? Even If he did, I tempted to think you would identify him as a toy maker. Biko this is nigeria, not China. Slowly but surely we will get there. |

AyLuxury: 3. Sneak peak A "peak" is a mountain top. A "peek" is a quick look. The correct expression is "sneak peek" which would mean to have a secret or early look at something. This error appeared on Oxford University's site as well as the National Park Service website.
19. Peaked my interest To "pique" means to arouse, so the correct phrase here should be "piqued my interest," meaning that your interest was awoken. To say that something "peaked my interest" would mean that it looked at my interest. In point number 3, Sneak peak, you said peak means the top of a mountain. Then in point number 19, pique my interest, you said peak means to look. You see yah life? |

So most people commenting on this thread went through school without seeing Chinese writing on their pencils (not even once) and are shocked to know we import pencils? Una sha... Everybody is screaming "government" as if it is the Chinese government that is manufacturing the pencils they are selling to us. Everybody is waiting for somebody to start something, nobody wants to do it themselves. I am very sure at least 75% of the people complaining here have the potential to start a pencil factory (or whatever they are called) but NO! "The government didn't clean my poo when I was 2 years old." "The government hasn't paid my father for some months and have no jobs for Nigerian youths." "Petroleum is now about 37$pb, Buhari has failed us." Suyaing and Peppersouping children of Nigerians. This is all monkey poo! |

Education › Re: Why Do Nigerian Higher Intitution Students Speak Pidgin Instead Of English? by Milo30(m): 9:57am On Dec 31, 2015 |
tevinsolt: D and T are pairs when it comes to sound, where B is the voiced and the T is the unvoiced
the voiced version of P is B not F.........For F it'll be V, so Hausa replacing P with F is bad English. When Chinese and Igbo people replace R with L, it is bad English because it strays away from the rules of the language.
not only American use the soft D sound, but British people do as well depending how fast they're speaking, so do Canadians who pretty much sound American, Australians do to. In fact, the cockney accent from London usually omits their Ts, for example Wa-T-er becomes Wa-H-er.
the problem with English speaking in Nigeria starts with the mentality that English is too complicated for little kids (which is obviously not true) so they dumb down the language. We are just a nation trying to ditch our ancestral language and learn another man's own. Anyway we respect the English language less than we ought to. That's why we don't care to speak it properly. The OP is right. Uh, thanks for the explanation, I learnt from it. |
Education › Re: Why Do Nigerian Higher Intitution Students Speak Pidgin Instead Of English? by Milo30(m): 5:19pm On Dec 30, 2015 |
tevinsolt: gonna and wanna are speaking contractions, which sometimes are used in informal writing, stories to convey a message to the reader. American English is Standard.....*what makes AME different from BRE, is the spelling of some words, where stress in placed in words, replacement of T with a form soft D, and the pronounced emphasis on R.*
Many Nigerians, adults can't go through a sentence without committing some form of blunder....unfortunately the little kids learn these, thinking it is the proper way to speak. With reference to the '*' section, is replacing 'T' with 'D' not against the language rules? Don't hausa people replace 'P' with 'F' for the same reason? |

tevinsolt: Why are you lying though....at best a Nigerian speaking is similar to an Indian speaking good English but still speaks with an accent, which is sometimes hard to understand...... Majority of Nigerians sucks at speaking English, when they speak it sounds forced.....and yes Americans speak good English, same way Australians and Canadians do even though the accents slightly differ. But the rules of pronunciation is pretty much the same. what you described up there are black Americans from poor neighborhoods. Nope. I disagree. 'White' Americans use "wanna" and "gonna" a lot. Their slangs have also become legit words as well. I believe languages are tools people use in communication. You don't use a scissors where a hammer is required. |

Chukazu: I totally disagree with your statement that Indians an Americans speak perfect English. there's no English speaking nation that speaks "perfect "English in its "perfection " they all have their own indigenous form of speaking. the reason we have "American(not just about accent, even in meaning) English, Australian English, Canadian English, even the Irish have their's, so why can't we have Nigerian English? Someone should give this guy a Nobel prize in Structured argument. |

habeeblai244: This has been bordering me since I was in secondary school. I am now in Higher Institution. Yet I still can't figure this out. Why will a higher institution student for that matter who has been Studying English Language for the past 10years AT LEAST can't speak English but will prefer Pidgin?
My friends speakS pidgin,(replace comma with fullstop or 'and') when I try to correct them, they will give lame excuse(missing 's'/inproper use(...THE lame excuse)) that not that they can't speak English but they prefer pidgin. Pidgin is for those who didn't go to school at all but need to communicate with those who understand English(Hahahaha). Higher institution students, why do you prefer pidgin to English? Learning English for ten years hasn't made much of a difference for you either (no offense meant). In this part of the world English is considered a formal language, hence informal situations don't necessarily require it for communication. Peace! |

I screwed up from day one. I didn't even know why I was in the University when I got in. I was completely disoriented and immature. I took 4 out of 5 years to learn and understand what I had done. I'm heading to my 5th year with a 2.2. This reminds me of all my mistakes and helps my resolve to help as many students as I can. Your first and second year counts a lot in your CGPA, don't screw with'em! Make friends that will help you keep your eyes on the price. God is interested in your success, so make Him proud (Proverbs 3:5-6, 1Tim 2:15). Op, God bless you plenty plenty. Make He continue to reward your efforts, amen. |
Phones › How To Get Your Instagram Videos With ES File Explorer by Milo30(op): 1:35pm On Nov 26, 2015 |
Sometimes you see a video on Instagram that you would like to watch several other times later or get a particular info that you would need later, but Instagram only allows you to view them temporarily. Here is how to get them with ES file explorer. After watching the video on Instagram, minimise Instagram and go to ES file explorer and do the following :- For elite users, open /Android/data/com.instagram.android/cache/video For new/regular users, (1) Open the folder named 'Android' on your primary memory storage. (It could be on your phone memory or your memory card) (2) Open 'data' (3) Open 'com.instagram.android' (4) Open 'cache'. Open 'video' (5) You'll see files like 'ab75388y.0', don't be scared (just kidding o). For heavy Instagram users, you'll see a lot of them. Highlight one of them by holding down until there's a blue tick on the right. Then highlight all of them by touching the dash-lined square in the top right and copy them. (6) You'll need a new folder to paste them in, so go back to the home folder (where 'Android' and all other folders are) and create a new folder by selecting 'New','folder'. Name it 'Videos(instagram)' or something you will remember. Open the new folder and paste them there. (7) Highlight everything you copied again and select 'Rename'. On the rename dialog, select the last entry box and type 'mp4'. ( Voila! They all become videos. That's how to do it. If you have questions, feel free to ask. |
