Acidosis: People still sell fish and soap till date. Selling fish is not another grass [to grace story]. You were simply doing a proper job to survive like everyone else. Those selling dried fish till date so we can eat are not stup!d. Many people built big houses by selling dried fish. It's unfortunate you couldn't do much with that business.
Making certain businesses look like "grass " is a serious issue in this country. Dried fish business is big business. Before her retirement, my mum used to be a big seller of dried fish at Otto market in Lagos...it was a 24/7 money spinner and by 11a.m, her cartons of dried fish have all been bought off by resellers and those exporting abroad. My sister who took over the business had to sell it for good money, when she also relocated abroad as none of us was around to monitor it because one have to be around to monitor supply and sales, the Hausa suppliers also prefer seeing you around. |

sabbiboi: I believe what you wrote is well understood by all.
Both parties are wrong in putting your cousin in harms way. Her parents are wrong by allowing her run to a pastor’s place, not a church. The pastor is wrong for accommodating her in his house, because logically that’s not the right place to cure a mental health. If the true intentions of the pastor was to cure her of her disorder, then other ministers of God in the church should be in the know of this case, that may have likely prevented intercourse, because he would love to protect his reputation.
Lastly, how do you prove it’s a rape case? The court can only go back and forth, with so much money an time wasted; with a good lawyer he will be exonerated. The best choice is settle this amicably between the pastor and girl’s parents, if the pastor is willing to take responsibility of the pregnancy. A mentally ill person as in the case of the lady in the story, struggles with cognitive impairment and does not possess the mental capacity for consensual sex....if DNA test proves the Pastor responsible, he will continue his ministry in prison. |

Fiscus105: You said ur cousin is having mental issues and now got impregnated by pastor.
I will advise you and her parents to call pastor and let him responsible for the pregnancy, .....all these rape or whatever issues should be dropped immediately, provided pastor doesn't deny pregnancy.
NB. Did u think it's only once pastor slept with her? The two of them consented to have sex multiple times. And this is opportunity for her to have her own child, you dnt even know if her mental cum spiritual issues would still get out of hand, in which it will be extremely difficult for her to get husband let alone children. Rape or whatever issues should be dropped immediately ......You are a RAPE APOLOGIST. The so called Pastor acknowledged the lady being mentally disordered, took advantage of her vulnerability and you even came up with the angle of consent.....that is a sexual offense because he is aware she is mentally ill which leaves her open to manipulation, intimidation, or deceit and he used his "position" to exploit her, sexually. Many Psychiatrists have had their medical licenses withdrawn and are cooling off in different prisons for having sex with patients under their care! Mr. Pastor should be picked up by the Lagos State Police command, to have one less predator in the field. |

Even if he is very convinced that his estranged wife knows where their son is and she insists she doesn't, he still ought to have reported to the police immediately. |

"The distraught father said the case of a missing person was reported three days after the incident at the Itire Police Station, Lagos. However, he disclosed that up to this moment, the whereabouts of his child had yet to be ascertained".........reporting a missing child after 3 days, is so irresponsible of the father. |

babasolution: Calabar, brass ,Benin all had ports before Nigeria, however that Lagos was eventually made the capital of Nigeria was the significant difference Below is what the Nigerian Inland Waterways Authority released, so if the Warri port was fully functional and it being nearer to Onitsha, with barges ferrying those 65% of containers from Warri port where it landed from different parts of the world to Onitsha, why would any South eastern based business import through Lagos?

Akinomoakin021: Local Governments that were former FCT (Km2) Lagos Island-8.7 Eti-Osa-192 Apapa-27 Lagos Mainland-19 Total-246.7 Km2
Total Lagos state landmass-3577km2
246.7/3577*100=6.9 percent
About 7 percent of Lagos State Landmass was former FCT. Others were part of old Western Region Under which local government was Festac Town in, way back in 1976? I asked because building that town was a Federal Government project and my father's block factory operating on a 24hrs production shift rotations by his Ghanian workers, was a key supplier of blocks used in the building of the town. |

Jayboi: drop your ego. It's the best you can do. First learn to check what you have been doing that he complains of and after you can then face him. Issues creep into marriages when there are two masters in the boat. You just need to submit and then pray to God. On the addiction, talk to him, invite older and experienced friends of the family. If you want your marriage to come back, fight for it and don't let events dictate. You started out your "counselling" with allocating the cause to the wife as if a man do not have the capacity to be dysfunctional on his own!. Fight for a marriage with an addict who have no desire to change, Uncle you seem to live in an alternate universe. Go to rehabilitation facilities.....many men, don't get visitations from their wives and even their own birth families, it shows they are tired of his shenanigans. |

I still can't wrap my mind around the fact that you teach mathematics and still not earning from it because your job as a teacher!
Like earlier suggested, be creative. Market your skills to parents especially those whose children will be sitting for next year's SSCE and NECO, kids living in Estates will be more ideal as you can get 4-5 parents in an Estate get their kids enrolled in your Maths tutorials that would be held in the home of one of the parents, selling them the angle of security as their children won't have to leave their Estate for the classes. |
