Not it won't.

What it means now is that Jared Leto is still likely to play Joker at some point
god no pls. They had their chance. We need a better joker. Leto was crap.

i agree with this.

Snyder should leave out Almighty Darkseid from the cut and allow Ava do her thing.

However, if darseid doesnt appear much in the snyder cut, then its okay and Ava can do a proper character development with new gods.

**My thoughts**
uxas is just cameo-ing. N0t a full on appearance.

Nolan is good, but bro, you are overrating him.
If Peter Jackson can't do LoTR in 2hours, I don't see how Nolan will do that.
For me, Peter Jackson is way better than Christopher Nolan. Just my opinion.
u see one thing eh. There are lots of scenes in LOTR that shouldn't have been in the theatrical cut. I mean, lots of scenes had characterz strolling, walking, with new zealand locati0ns being advertised. S0me scenes were pr0l0nged than it needed to be. I slept throughout and yet the film didn't interest me. N0lan would've shortened s0me dialogue, found ways to tell s0me sub plots without the run time reaching 4 hours. Like, n0lan uses imageries lots of time than forcing unnecessary dialogues.

I swear. I don't know why it took so long. I hope it's coming 2023/4 will be very pivotal for the DCEU. It's prolly gonna be our next phase.

If it comes out same period around New Gods I go faint. grin DC has been lacking big powerhouses for a long time.
Justice League that we hoped for got fvcked by that Tsuji guy. angry Imagine 3hr30mins you cut am to 1hr57, chai. cry

Probably the same reason many fans were opposed to Birds of Prey and didn't support hence it bombed.
At least we can hope for the upcoming Flash wipe the slate clean for us with Flashpoint.
i'd be happy if they d0n't go straight into flashpoint. I want them to be creative. C0me up with the blackest night storyline and at the end, have flash run back to change things. Na only God kn0w how that 1 hour justice league film dy pain me when i first hear am. As in, Tsujihara even defended the idea. In his opini0n JL would make quick m0ney in theatres if it was an hour plus. Then endgame came and showed wb that, hello, if u have a g0od film, people would want to watch no matter how l0ng it is. I am surprised they never learnt their less0ns with bvs and suicide squad. A 0ne hour justice league film. And people on here kept insulting snyder and praising wb.

Yep I know of Johns role in it, that's why I said he should remain in his creative department producing and formulating good stories for adaptation not giving him an executive Producer role. He wanted to control everyone back then.

I even hear say them politely pursue am comot for Joker planning room during development. The Gee wan turn super Producer like Feige. grin

That's why I'm loving the full takeover of WB by AT&T and the appointment of Ann Sarnoff as CEO. Even the DC and HBOMAX collaboration is pretty good and ingenious. Numerous DC projects on deck. The next five years will be eventful and DC choked full of content and options.

HBOMax DC lineup is probably the most exciting ambitious project so far and sub banner of DC. It will be pretty competing with the main DCEU, dominating the likes of DC Universe and CW. Projects such as Justice League Dark and Green Lantern gives me joy.
i am h0ping their c0ntents d0n't bec0me trash cos am sure they'd want to stretch the series to death. Like titans for example. The show lost directi0n in seas0n 2. I'd be happy with a well planned show that has a limit and an ending.

No, inhumans failed because it was a shïtshow. Eew, have you watched the show?
From graphics to VFX to characteristion to choice of location were absolute garbage biko. I Stopped watching it after the first episode!

Dare-Devil failed as a big budget movie but succeeded as one of the best comics TV series ever produced.
So guy forget, it doesn't matter if it's on Cinema or small screen, a good film sells itself. What decides everything is the money to be made.

Green Lantern is coming to TV.
dude, there are stories that d0n't work out well as series. I mean, what were they hoping to tell with inhumans? Same with a darkseid show. You'd run out of stories eventually and start filling it with fillers. Dare devil failed cos of the script and directi0n.

Are you saying that Darkseids backstory cannot be developed on the small screen for an eventual Box Office big budget movie?

My point here is, there is nothing stopping DC from doing a mini-series/full series on him this year before they release a big budget movie in the cinema with him as the big baddie... it's exactly what Marvel did with Thanos, but they did it with 20 movies instead.
It's same principle, just different execution. Not everyone reads comics, and so not everyone will understand comics movies in the same way.
Take a look at Green Arrow for instance. He became a household name here in Nigeria through a series...
bros, what story do u want to tell about Uxas in a series? His love life, family or what? U can do this in a 2 hour story bro. Do u kn0w why inhumans failed as a series? Cos s0me stories aren't meant to be stretched.

We share same dislike @bolded.

However, i don't watch series longer than 10-13 episodes. There are exceptions though, like Viking's and Supernatural, but i stopped watching Supernatural too at some point cuz of same issue.

Series from HBO, NETFLIX, BBC, FX, STARZ, SYFY, EPIC, CINEMAX, AMAZON, HULU, are mostly 6 - 10 episodes most of the time.
I think it's mostly NBC, FOX, CW and ABC Studio's that overstretch series unnecessarily.
to me, the perfect number for a series to c0mplete its arc is 8 seas0ns of a 10episode run. Cos to be h0nest, the other epis0des are fillers that s0on bec0me plotholes. That's why i love how to get away with murder.

I already suspected this after Black Adam confirmed some JSA members in it. Since Justice League wasn't successful, we should get this alternative.
to be h0nest, we should have gotten a jsa film a l0ng time ago but hey, we got birds of prey. Yatsy! That's why a part of me wants a clean slate where wb can really start again.

abduleez1:
Not really. It's just teasing I guess since Snyder is getting His.Besides there's Suicide Squad movie coming which will retcon previous movie with a soft reboot.

He has been asking for his cut release mostly cos of the backlash his film received from critics and fans alike. And the fact that WB butchered his vision with their micromanaging.

I hear the peeps who were actively against the Snyder Cut releasing are out of WB. Hence the new exec has more peeps who wants the cut released. I'm liking this new CEO Ann Sarnoff. And Kevin Tsujihara can go fvck himself, he really destroyed us bad. By This year we should have had Flash and Cyborg by now, prepping for Green Lantern.

Isn't Walter Hamada the new head of DC? Honestly I'll like all the big wigs in charge of important decisions and influence involved in the bumpy road of DC's first 5 films to be sacked or demoted. Except prolly the likes of Geoff Johns remaining in the creative department. I'd like for James Wan to have a bigger role in DCEU.
dude, kevin tsujihara really killed the dceu. Na the guy request for 0ne hour justice league film. It was under him we kept hearing things like resh0ots i.e bvs, suicide squad, jl. His management was so undecided. Geoff johns also played a part in undermining snyder's visi0n. They really messed things to the extent the dceu was faceless. We didn't kn0w which angle it was facing. Was it trying to be realistic? Marvel like or a mix of light and dark. Tsujihara's management was so undecided. Had it been decided, they'd have kn0wn whether to go with snyder or dump him if they didn't like his visi0n. How many times did directors walk out of the flash? It made me w0nder if at the incepti0n, these direct0rs never signed a c0ntract or table their ideas b4 tsujihara's management employed them. N0w u can tell the difference since after then, no direct0r has walked out. For a studio head, tsujihara was so undecided. Remember king arthur legend of the sword also suffered same fate of resh0ots with the film b0mbing and being bashed? That was under Kevin tsujihara.

abduleez1:
Nope I don't buy that idea. undecided
There are various and numerous comic characters and various level of importance and popularity. Some don't belong in the small screen, while some are definitely well suited for the Big screen.
Characters like Uxas you don't really need a tv series character development style to know what he basically IS. Same for Supes, Batman, Flash, Wonder Woman etc.

Being a theater film doesn't really translate to poorer character devt, it all depends on the writing, direction and portrayal. Besides for character devt that's why you got sequels or prequels to handle that.

The public reach of Big screen release is also far greater than series. Also profitability on big screen has many positive potentials over series.
been trying to explain that.

Maybe grin but it's not a bad thing to want your character fleshed out..some people still prefer movies tho like me

If you can remember I told you the only series I had ever watched was GOT, I only just started watching series when I joined this thread grin grin and all of them have been superhero series...I dont need toomany to see toomany scenes of a character to make them feel relatable or built up
exactly. That's what i am trying to say. Making a series doesn't guaranty a character is developed. Like the flash show for instance, the title character is still the same with who we met in seas0n 1, same as caitlin sn0w and iris west. Those characterz aren't developed and the show is in its 6th seas0n.

A lot of people prefer it the same way as you do too. I'm the one that made my siblings love series too cuz they too prefer one off movies.

It's just that i prefer well rounded stories, not the one dimensional clusters that is prevalent in BO movies.
Box Office is now used mainly for flicks and VFX...
u kn0w why i hate series? Alot of it are filler. They over stretch stories that are unimp0rtant and atimes seas0ns eg the walking dead. S0metimes the writerz get c0nfused down the line.

philfearon:
He could...but will the characters be as developed?
That's my point bro, character development. There are a lot of things he will be forced to cut off because of runtime.
character development has to do with how u want to take the story and what u want to tell. N0lan was able to develop batman in batman begins and also the characterz in incepti0n. Everything get scope.

Christopher Nolan cannot do GOT in 2hrs no matter how good he is.

It is impossible to do a movie in two hours for a story with too many characters without prior background build...that's exactly how you end up with bad butchered movies which fans and critics will love to make the joke of the year.

I thought you knew this already.
dude, n0lan would find a way to do seas0n 1 of GOT in 2 hours. It's abt kn0wing what u want to tell, how to tell it and achieve it. GOT was fr0m a b0ok, guy. And u are telling me N0lan can't adapt a b0ok into a 2hour film? He did incepti0n that had many characterz in it and was able to tell a story. How abt TDK. Lord of the rings is one film i find unnecessarily l0ng and would've benefitd fr0m a 2hr run time..

Lol. If ah hear.

None of the people you mentioned are A-list actors, even after Marvel gave them popularity... except Downey who was a B-list actor as at when Marvel cast him. You can probably say he is the only actor that went upward to A-list.
downey was never a B list. His career only suffered due to his drug problems. He was a house hold name. He was kn0wn. Mark ruffalo isn't an unkn0wn. Check his films. He's popular. The only b lists were hemsworth and evans bk then. Johans0n was kn0wn bro. Gwyneth patrow, is a star dude. D0n't kn0w abt jeremy renner bk then. D0n't let people hear u say this.

The first season of GOT cost around $50m. That's big money for a TV series. If same series was made today, it would obviously cost more... inflation.
I just browsed, and The Witcher cost about $90m for its first season. The Joker cost less.

If I remember correctly, the only A-list actor in Marvel's assemble when they started was S.L Jackson before Benedict Cumberbatch and Chris Pratt joined them(and Chris is even debatable though).

So my guy, no be as you think am!
wr0ng, RDJ was A list then, scarjo was kn0wn, gwyneth patrow, mark ruffalo. Guy d0n't go there. That 50mil for GOT of multiple hour epis0des is much cheaper than superman returns yearz before of 200mil. Guy, no c0mpare tv show with films. Films cost m0re, and are m0re advantageous.
TV/MoviesRe: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by Minemrys(op): 7:53pm On May 21, 2020
philfearon:
Sure, they do.
But, between Jon Snow (GOT) and Nolan's Batman, whose character was more developed on Screen?

Iron Man's development was all around in the Marvel Universe because he had the highest minutes on screen. That's what i am trying to let you know.

The more minutes a character has on screen, the more developed they become.
People appreciated Nolan's Batman more in TDK because he already had a lot of minute's prior, and the Joker played off it.
The Joker was all character development from start to finish, no villain, no hero.
let's cut this argument short. A g0od screen play would tell a c0mplete story filled with character developments in 2 hours that a series with 13 episodes tries to tell. U just have to figure out your scenes, what's m0re important and what's n0t. To be h0nest, give n0lan the story of GOT seas0n 1 and he would summarize it in 2 hours and get an oscar n0m for it.
TV/MoviesRe: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by Minemrys(op): 7:48pm On May 21, 2020
philfearon:
Lol.
Most of the budget for Big budget movies go to VFX, location and marketing, that's why; not even the actual Production itself.

Movies have a lot of disadvantages which a series don't, and so the huge budget to make it appeal to a much wider audience.
and m0vies have talents. Locati0n, yea. You hardly get series using exotic locati0ns.
TV/MoviesRe: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by Minemrys(op): 7:11pm On May 21, 2020
philfearon:
Of course.
Most Amazon Prime shows are big budget shows...just like their upcoming Lord of the Rings series which is predicted to cost more than $500m over five seasons... That's $100m each per series.
The second season of THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE cost $100m+ to make.
u see why i say tv shows are cheap? That 100milla, is the budget for a mini budget film like shazam. And d0n't forget it runs for multiple episodes and hours. U can't c0mpare that with a 2hour film that has a 200milla budget.

I just wonder why is it that this people have too many materials in their hands, yet keep hoarding it for no reason.
But, DC and Marvel are getting wise...at least if you look at some of their future release templates. But, it wouldn't be bad having.

The character development in the big screen is too poor and rushed.
Maybe, i read too much novels...lol! grin
it isn't. N0lan builds his characters well. Alot of directors do. Jon favreu did well with ir0n man, same with james gunn.

You have been misinformed my brother.
There are cheap series, and there are high budget series better than some of the Box Office big budget movies which also eventually fails.

The Witcher, Game of Thrones, Westworld, The Man in the High Castle, Carnival Row, Daredevil, and a whole host of others come into focus.

And as for more established actors avoiding superhero films, that's already the case. Most established actors in Hollywood already avoid superhero films. Haven't you noticed?
lots of established act0rs even want to be in superhero films. Just few avoid them like statham becos of t0o much cgi.
