There goes one of d Les Gullibles
You think name calling is going to mask the ignorance you carry about that sticks out like a sore thumb? Once again, Aishat Buhari is the wife of the President. Being the wife of the President and having an office of the First Lady are two different concepts. The latter means that the occupant of such office has all the paraphernalia of an official government position. Moreover, I have never heard Aishat being referred to as the First lady. She is always referred to as the wife of the President.

Also, do you think that as the wife of the President, she can't accompany her husband on a journey?

What you have between your ears are for the purpose of thinking; use it.

Cheers.

The way you folks try to divide Yorubas between 'Yoruba Muslims' and 'Yoruba Christians' is so funny. You really think the average Yoruba man makes political decisions based on religion? In Yoruba land, family takes precedence before religion, not to talk of politics.

Go on with the phrase because it's just one of the ways y'all think Yorubas can be divided.

Olabenjamen22:
Lol, Your brain should have tell you that this matter is not a matter of language but a matter of the entity behind that name, actually did i need to spit it for you one by one.
1. Arab have manying gods even before the establishment of your Islam, and last i check your prophet father name mean slave of Allah, and last i check he was an idol high priest, or am i lieing? This really show the reason why you people cannot call your god in another language, since he is an idol, lol
Of all the gods the Arabs had before Islam, tell me one that was named Allah? What you people want to ignore is that Allah means God in Arabic. As regards the prophet's fathers name, if not that you have closed your mind to knowledge, you would have known that that singular act proves that Allah is the Arabic term for God. It's just like an Ifa or Obatala worshiper naming his son Olorunfemi or Oluseun. It wasn't as if the idolaters did not know there existed God, they just believed they could reach him via their numerous deities. This Supreme Being was called Allah in their language. Even before Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) became a prophet, he was always spending time thinking about a Supreme Being. You cannot even dissociate the Arabic language from this, no matter how you try. There are Arabs who are Christians. What name do you think they call God in their language?

Olabenjamen22:
Then why are you people trying to link your allah to Yahweh, Olorun e.t.c since your Allah told you he only understand arab i.e he is not the god for other language.
Oh please! Save yourself from ignorance and read. Who told you Allah only understands Arabic? I guess you reached this fallacy of a conclusion because Muslims pray in Arabic. Are you saying then that non-Arab Muslims are not Muslims? A Yoruba Muslim could pray to Allah in his language by saying Olorun and he would be referring to Allah. If you are not dogmatic, you would know that Allah means Olorun. It is a fact and whether you accept it or not is your own problem.

Olabenjamen22:
Lol, well am only trying to clear your fake relationship with Yahweh and Olodunmare, i don't care about your religion, if you like add yoga to your gymnastic exercise, i care less, just stop linking your stupidity with my religion. Peace
You don't care about my religion yet here you are in a thread strictly for Muslims. You clicked on the declaration before you could comment on this thread and you mean to tell me you don't care about my religion. Who is then the stupid one? Whether you accept it or not, it is your personal problem; Allah means God and God means Allah. Only difference between the two words is the language they are written in.

It's just like a Yoruba man telling an Igbo man that Chineke is different from Olorun.

Lol, what you muslim don't understand is that you cannot cover lie with lie, the truth will always prevail.
Well you claim your allah is the same as God while from your oat you people wrote
"I believe that there is no god/God but Allah and Muhammad is His Prophet"
Note the upper case, lol am not the one that wrote that oo.
Actually i will begin to take you guys serious once you start calling your morning prayer in your traditional language(Note:- using the name of God in your dialect to call prayer). Lol.
Quick one- What's God called in Arabic?

Concerning the bolded part, you think Muslims give a Bleep about whether you take them serious because they call prayers in Arabic? You must really overestimate yourself. A group of people are following what their religion says about calling to prayer and you think they're concerned about what someone, who's not even a Muslim, thinks about it. Hahahahahahahah.

Stop claiming legal genius. The criminal code says the MAXIMUM penalty for armed robbery is death. It didn't say that the punishment for armed robbery must be death. Usually, the maximum penalty is given to either repeat offenders or those who have been proven to have committed murder in the process of robbery. In this case, he could have gotten a jail term if the judge was in her right senses.

And you are here talking about ignorance. What do you think you know?
Oh! Here's a man who wasn't in the courtroom, isn't even a judge and relies only on a news article making conclusions on a case he knows nothing about.

For your information, attached is a screenshot of what the Lagos state Criminal Law (which was used in this case) says about the punishment for armed robbery. Notice that Section 295(2) a & b specifically talk about armed robbery.

Now, who's the ignorant one? It's certainly not me.

My Uncle told me grape/vine tastes nasty but tangerines are better.
No one is trying to brainwash you here, except you have closed your mind to new knowledge.

To understand my point better, check out the principles of henotheism and polytheism. While henotheism believes in the worship of a single deity but acknowledges that other deities exist, a polytheist worships various deities at the same time believing that each deity has its own functions and responsibilities.

The statement, 'There's no god except Allah' that we Muslims profess negates both henotheism and polytheism. This is because we believe that there is only one God
-> who has all the responsibilities polytheists assume other gods have and
-> whose existence rubbishes the existence of other gods like henotheists believe.

If Allah is God, how come someone wrote this sh!t below

"I believe that there is no god/God but Allah and Muhammad is His Prophet."
Because in the times past (and even now), many people believe that there are many gods. Many believe in Zeus, Thor, Sango, Ogun, Amadioha amongst other. What the statement you wrote means is that all those other gods aren't valid except only one God.

PS: Allah is the Arabic term for God; just like Olorun means God in Yoruba language.

Stop confusing yourself. In (a), it says "or" which means that (b) is a continuation.

In essence, if the offender is armed with any weapon or if not with a weapon but inflicts wounds on the victim, the punishment is death
Oh! I just understood that part better. Thanks for the clarification. Apparently, the concluding part of 402 subsection 2 was in b.

Chapter 36
Stealing with Violence: Extortion by Threats

401. Any person who steals anything, and, at or immediately before or immediately after the time of stealing it, uses or threatens to use actual violence to any person or property in order to obtain or retain the thing stolen or to prevent or overcome resistance to its being stolen or retained, is said to be guilty of robbery.

402. (1) Any person who commits the offence of robbery shall upon conviction be sentenced to imprisonment for not

(2) If-

(a) any offender mentioned in subsection (1) of this section is armed with any firearms or any offensive weapon or any obnoxious or chemical materials or is in company with any person so armed; or

(b) at or immediately before or immediately after the time of robbery, the said offender wounds any person, the offender shall upon conviction be sentenced to death
Concerning the bolded part, although it wasn't stated in the article, it is a high probability that the victim was wounded especially if he resisted. The suspect might have used the butt of his gun to hit him or slapped him. If this happened, violence is established and bodily injury can be present.

Esepayan:
Shut up
Firstly, the judge based her judgement on the Lagos State Criminal Law. Secondly, it is stated in the New article that the suspect locked up the victims after the robbery. Depending on the lawyers, they can spin this to mean that he wounded his victim. According to the Lagos State law, once violence is used during the robbery, its punishment is death sentence. Violence can range from hitting the victim with the butt of the gun, slapping the victims, beating up the victims among other means of perpetuating violence.

All these were not stated in the new article but they are all possible during a robbery operation, especially if the victim resists.

I'll have to read my copy of the constitution again to know the punishment for armed robbery.
He didn't have to kill someone before he's sentenced. The court works by the law and not what some people believe is right.

The punishment for armed robbery according to Nigeria's Criminal Code is death.
