SHTFguy:In your first quote, you said the Yorubas are against restructuring. Now, you're saying they only use the restructuring issue as a bargaining chip. Will you have a stance? Toeing your line, I could say that the SE/SS too are hypocritical in their restructuring calls. Edwin Clark, Dokubo and his ilk were feeding fat when GEJ was there. Edwin Clark especially had GEJ's ear. Why didn't he make a case for restructuring then? GEJ also had a chance to restructure with the Confab he held. But he went about it the wrong way as the confab was constituted in such a way that its resolutions were not binding and were at best, advisory. One could conveniently say that the calls for restructuring now are hypocritical. You asked why Yorubas didn't call for restructuring under GEJ. The question you should be asking is why NO ONE cslled for restructuring when GEJ was there. Why are you singling out the Yoruba as if they are the only tribe in Nigeria? Personally, I have always supported the need for a whole new constitution. Afenifere (the foremost Yoruba association) has also always been for a new constitution too. |
Do you know for how long the Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere has been calling for restructuring? That's one thing they've been consistent about. You seem to think the Yorubas are against you. Because Obasanjo is against restructuring, you think the whole Yoruba is against it. When did Obj start talking on behalf of Yorubas? I've heard about how some of you claim Lagos won't survive w/o but no one has provided proofs of how Lagos depends heavily on oil proceeds. Why TF would you think Hausas are the overlords for Yorubas? How? |
Red beard? |
I thought Fatai Owoseni said he's still the CP in Lagos. What's this na? |
lordm:Not only you o. And I even started watching it out of boredom sef. Takeaways from Game of Thrones, Season 7 |
Absolutely. |
Toks2008:I agree. Fairness might be to also have something similar for Christians. |
Toks2008:Like I said, this is what I believe prompted Seun to do what he did. I'm not saying with certainty it's the reason. Also, during the years I mentioned, Christian related topics were always peaceful. I conducted a survey in one of those years. I randomly visited both Islam and Christian topics to check the comments. Whether this has changed or not, I have no idea as I'm not as active as I was on NL. For it to be possible to have such question on Christian topics, there might have to be a sort of 'Christianity for Christians' subsection as such might not be possible in the general religion section where all Nairalanders have unfettered access. I see no reason why Seun should remove the question though. Why should non-Muslims make comments on topics in a subsection that was created solely for Muslims, then complain of the authentication process of knowing if the person is 'supposed to be there'? It's just like me asking my neighbour why he always asks who's at the door after he had been been robbed over time. |
otitokoroleti: femi852: Josephjnr: ochobaba:If Seun were to be a Muslim, many people would have seen this act as bigotry. Fortunately, he's an atheist. For those that were with NL 6-8 years ago and knew how NL worked, they would understand this declaration. In the early days of NL, religious related topics especially Islam related ones were always battlegrounds. Non Muslims usually invaded those topics and mock and deride Islam and Muslims. Meanwhile, Christian topics didn't witness these attacks. A subsection, Islam for Muslims was thereafter created just for Muslims and their topics. This didn't prevent those attacks from coming. Seun then made topics about Islam appear on the front page only on Fridays. Some Muslims saw this as being unfair as Christian related topics graced the front page at anytime. So, the questions being asked is one of the measures put in place by Seun to check these attacks on Islam topics on Nairaland. If any topic is posted on the Islam for Muslims subsection, the question about whether you're a Muslim is automatically asked. It doesn't matter whether the thread is about Islam or not. I believe what Seun hopes to achieve with it is to make sure only Muslims view threads in the Islam for Muslim subsection. A non-Muslim making comment on them is seen as being at the wrong place. It's then weird when non-Muslims click on topics posted in the Islam for Muslim subsection but complain of the whole NL being islamized (whatever that means). |
francotunsco:I don't think Ferrari is being unnecessarily worried. If not because of this, a lot of people would have thought the car is produced by Ferrari and thus expect a certain level of quality from it. If the modified car doesn't meet this, this destroys their reputation. The logo and design of the car are properties of Ferrari. That's why iPhone and Samsung are usually 'fighting' in the courts. Simply put: If I buy a tin of Bournvita and pour the product in an empty tin of 'NairalandVita', then pass the product off as NairalandVita, I might be contravening Patent Laws and get sued by Cadbury, despite the fact that I paid for the original product with my money. |
mysteryman2014:Because people do that and get away with it doesn't make it right in the eyes of the law. I think Ferrari isn't comfortable with the man parading the modified car with their logo on it. It might destroy their reputation as people associate a certain level of quality with Ferrari. Might fall under patent law. |
twilliamx:Of course, it's his property. But he can't put Ferrari's logo on it. That's infringing on Ferrari's identity and trademark. |
NwaforIgbo:I believe the OP is referring to building it outside school campus which will be for students to wish to stay off campus. That doesn't need tí involve the school authority. |
PrecisionFx:No, I don't. You tell me. Seems you're confusing upfront with no 10. |
PrecisionFx:Rooney did not play upfront for so many seasons. Rooney only played as a 9 for 2 seasons. The other seasons he played as a 10. Those seasons we had Van Nistelroy, Berbatov, Tevez, Van Persie, Saha, Zlatan, he played in the midfield. |
thesicilian:Pushed out? When Terry, Lampard, Gerrard, Rio Ferdinand, Raul Gonzalez and Xavi left their clubs to join other clubs, was it considered pushing out? The handwriting was written all over the wall that Rooney wasn't in the plans of Mourinho. He was a great player for Man Utd no doubt. But don't blame Mourinho for this. It was a long time coming. |
DrGoodmanFather:I merely responded to your comment, 'Only in Nigeria, soldiers would be using walking sticks'. Told you it isn't only in Nigeria though. About American soldiers using it, according to Wikipedia, it used to be in vogue in the US military. |
TheKingdom:My bad! I thought I responded to a sane person. |
DrGoodmanFather:It's not walking stick. It's called Swagger Stick and its use is not just limited to Nigeria. Kindly google it. |
belindar:This isn't about slavery or whatever you call it. Ever heard of joint military exercise between countries? It's a common phenomenon amongst militaries of different nations to engage in military exercises or war games. |
whitebeard:That's called swagger stick. It is commonly used by several senior military officers in the world. It's not only Nigerian military officers that use it. |
keypad1:Please stop displaying your ignorance on here. The deceased died in Egypt yesterday and this evening, his corpse had arrived and buried within hours of arrival. If what you tried to encrypt is Yoruba muslims, yes, you can be sure there are Yoruba muslims in the crowd. This is because of the Islamic injunction that encourages Muslims to attend the funeral of fellow Muslims. It's not everything that's about tribe, son. |
keypad1:Did you know that the man died in Egypt on July 3? Today is July 4 and the man has been buried already. Just a day's interval. How immediate do you want it to get? You have no knowledge whatever about burial in Islam yet you claim this particular burial shows discrimination. Seek knowledge, please. |
In my opinion, I believe it boils down to why you started blogging in the first place. If your wish was to make money off it, traffic will be king to you. If your wish was to get your thoughts out there, content will definitely be king to you. I believe quality content would bring more loyal and engaging visitors to your blog. |
LMAO. Does anyone still take this man serious? Was he in the room to have known that Rice even touched the cup? I'm sure he doesn't expect sane people to believe this without providing evidences. He's trolling as usual. |
Lol

This reminds me of the book, 1984 written by George Orwell. |
The concerns of CAN seem justified, if the allegations are correct. Both religious studies should be given equal footing. The nation is quite divided as it is. It will not be wise to take that division to the classrooms populated by kids in their formative ages. |
tosyne2much:The other day KCee stole a pic of wads of dollars and passed it off as his own. Oge Okoye also took a picturef dogs from Instagram and claimed they were her pets. Na fake life many of them dey live. |
sarutobie:Correct! You can adequately track their earnings. You can even at the comfort of your bed calculate how much Adele, Rihanna, Drake, Kendrick Lamar make in a year. In Nigeria however, it's a wild west. Piracy has eaten deeply into the industry. Most songs are downloaded for free. You can't even guess how much Don Jazzy or Olamide has. That's why the OP can ask this question. |

the tine dey vex me, all of them protruding stomachs the other one is using stick already, we are finished..
