odigbosky: Bro what really makes Alqasa special to you guys....It is the 3rd holiest mosque standing on the holiest site of Judaism. So tell me to whom does the Temple mount mean much more to....the Muslims who place it 3rd on their list or the jews who place it 1st of dia list. Firstly, you said the mosque doesn't mean much to Muslims and was only made popular because of the Arab-Israel conflict. This statement is false as the location of the mosque is where Muslims believe Muhammed (PBUH) ascended to heaven. Thus, it's a reverred site in Islam. Outside Masjid Haram and the Prophet's Mosque both in Saudi Arabia, the Aqsa Mosque is the next holiest site in Islam. Secondly, for you to know the importance of Aqsa Mosque to Islam, you should know that the Aqsa Mosque used to be where Muslims faced in prayer before the Prophet (PBUH) received a revelation changing the Qiblah to Kaabah. What more reason do you need to prove that the mosque is important to Muslims? Concerning who owns the place, this has been a contentious issue. That's why access to the place is shared between Muslims and Jews. Moreover, because the place is the holiest site in Judaism doesn't diminish its importance in Islam too. |

odigbosky: Seriously....so you think the mosque in Jerusalem means more to the saudis than the mosque in mecca and medina. That mosque that Muslims back when praying. That mosque was made relevant because of the Arab Israeli conflict. Trust islamic preachers....that mosque is not in the quran.....The Saudi crown would sacrifice that mosque for her to remain as ruler of her kingdom and with money the wahabis can preach anything. Dude, you know nothing about the Aqsa Mosque. So because Muslims face the Kaabah in Mecca and inadvertently, in your opinion, back Aqsa Mosque means Muslims don't care about the mosque? The Aqsa Mosque is independent of what Saudi crown wants; it's the heritage of the Muslims. The Aqsa Mosque has always been important in Islam and not because of the Arab-Israel conflict. |

naptu2: What they meant when they said that there is no office of the first lady is that the position has been abolished. However, there is a building at the Aso Rock Villa that has been designated (since 1991) as the office of the first lady. Basically they are referring to the building.
Maryam Babangida was first lady of Nigeria from 1985 - 1993. She converted one of the unused offices at State House Ribadu Road (aka Dodan Barracks) into her office c1987.
When the government was constructing the Aso Villa, they built a building close to the residence which was to serve as the first lady's office. The building contains the first lady's office, her conference room and the offices of her special assistants and advisers. It is that building that is being referred to (specifically the conference room).
Buhari is the first president that I've seen using the office since the first family moved there in 1991.
The Aso Rock Villa is a gigantic complex that contains very many buildings.
Pictures below (1) President Buhari receiving Catholic bishops in the first lady's conference room.
2) Patience Jonathan receiving Christian women in the first lady's conference room. Regarding the aerial view, this is the first time that I'm seeing Aso Rock holistically. |

proudlyYoruba: Do i have to explain this to you? Countries all over the world have Submarines. Submarines are effective in military because they allow a stealth way to enter into enemy waters and possible attack. And because other countries have also expanded their navies to include submarines, it is an absolute must for the Nigeria to also have submarines to counteract. Military sophistication zero and you claim u are giant of Africa. Submarines are most prominent in navies; however, they are also used in other venues. In recent decades, they have become much more commonly used as a research tool as well. They allow scientists to travel deep into the see and study deep water sea life. One of the thing used to know how developed a country is is SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY. I don't see the need for Nigeria to procure a submarine. We don't have a prominent threat from our seas that requires submarines to combat. Submarines are quite expensive to procure and maintain. I don't think Nigeria has the need for one. |

Islam prides itself as a religion of brotherhood. If a Muslim's corpse is desecrated in such a way as is described in the topic, that spirit of brotherhood is called into action. If traditionalists can violate a Muslim corpse and nothing is done, we might as well just stop being Muslims. |

Ignore fools and face ur own.. Some burn their dead without celebrations.. They can also argue that theirs is the best since its dust to dust.. Thank you for this. I think the error many people make is that they judge other people by their own standards and religious and cultural laws. Every culture and religion have their own unique ways of living. |

FreeTraining: point of correction don't said billions of muslims around the world,, what u have is not up to 2 billion muslims,,is about 1.6 bilion muslims around the world' how come billions? ,so all those while they forbid driving,,,does it mean they don't know what they are preaching? The other Yoruba actress that died in Canada the other time' is she not a Muslim,?,why did they organize service of songs for her,,,,you people should stop decieving yourselves' all this your Islamic laws are meant for the poor muslims among u not the rich' ,,darkness can endure for a long time but certainly light will come; Stop dwelling on semantics and face the issue. So of the 1.6 billion Muslims in the world, how come Saudi Arabia was the only country that banned women from driving? Saudi Arabia doesn't even constitute 1% of the Muslim world. Does that mean that the remaining 99% of other Muslims that allow women drive are going against Islam? Where in Islam does it forbid women from driving? Or does your knowledge of Islam arise from whatever Saudi Arabia does? As regards the actress that died in Canada and service of songs were held, how does that mean that the religion allows that? A lot of Muslims die and are buried daily and no service of songs are held for them. But you just had to 'attack' Islam because an actress died and her friends (who probably aren't even Muslims) held a service of songs. Islam is very explicit about the rulings on burial. If some people choose to abandon these rulings, that's their problem. If you believe only the poor follow Islamic laws, how is that deception? Because the rich, in your opinion, do not follow Islamic laws doesn't invalidate Islam and its teachings. Every man shall account for his deeds individually on Judgement Day. |

I asked for your definition of 'last respect' for the dead and you're telling me what Saudi Arabia did and didn't do. Even your comments on Saudi Arabia show that you're contradicting yourself. We have billions of Muslims in the world and lots of countries with Muslims as majority. Yet, Saudi Arabia was the only country where women were not allowed to drive. How in God's name does that correlate with Islam? Or you think all the policies of Saudi Arabia means that they are what Islam is about? Now that women can drive in Saudi Arabia, does that mean that Islam just changed its view? As regards women entering stadium in Saudi Arabia, what Islam preaches against is the indiscriminate mixture of both genders. Now that women can enter stadia in Saudi Arabia, does it mean that Islam has changed its stance on the mixture between opposite genders? I laughed at your ignorance when you said Islam is against civilization. Go and research on how Muslims impacted positively on science, philosophy and knowledge on general. Once again, stay on the topic being discussed. |

FreeTraining: The way Muslims bury thier dead ones surprises me, that same day they will throw the dead person in the GRAVE like a dirty rag, without service of songs/ ceremony or respect, it is even more painful,,,too bad There's no where in Islam where service of songs and stuff like that is recognized. Why should there be delay in the burying of the dead? As a Muslim, what is more painful is when the burial of a corpse is delayed. The real respect comes from hastening the burial. |

Move to front page and stop asking useless and unintelligent question here Mynd44 asked a valid question, tbh. If Nigeria doesn't pay, is there any kind of force to make the FG pay? ECOWAS is like UN and its constituent bodies. They have no enforcing power. Added to the fact that Nigeria is the most important country in ECOWAS. So, what will happen if Nigeria doesn't pay up? |
