Ekpeitut: Lubbish... When I eventually become Nigeria's president. I'll scrap this hajj and Jerusalem pilgrim trips. You can't be spending state funds for religious indulgences. This should be a personal affair. You know that not all the pilgrims are sponsored by the government, right? Majority of the pilgrims go with their own money. But you're right, I don't think the government should involve itself with sponsoring pilgrims. |

thesicilian: Paying December salary in November is not common anywhere in the world. No matter how bad these politicians are, we should learn to commend them when they take steps in the right direction. I don't think this is right though. Those workers haven't worked in December but they've already received salary for December. |

They want to convert everywhere to islam by force But according to the article, there's a subsisting ruling of the Appeal Court on the issue saying students should be allowed to wear the Hijab. |

What's the difference between that battle and the Battle of Badr that made one of them mythical and the other real? |
Sports › Re: Mouez Hassen 'Fakes Injury' To Break Ramadan Fast by misterh(m): 10:28am On Jun 05, 2018 |
iluvpomo: Yes, those are mythical stories that can only be accepted by faith. You have no way of proving that those events occurred - let us be factual. I think the crux of this discussion is to ask you this: Do you believe God sent certain people many years ago to preach to people about Him? That these people are His prophets? That these people include Jesus, Moses, Muhammad? |

Idrismusty97: Yea, Example the used of phone in replying me right now. Although i criticized most religion but when it comes to Islam i don't even know where to start from, Your backwardness is on a whole new level. You seem to be getting it confused. The use of gadgets isn't against Islam. What Islam is against is thinking you can add to the laws of Islam. Islam has sets of rules which are set in stone. The circumstances regarding them might vary but the principles are unchangeable. Islam would lose its uniqueness and purity if men can decide to change its rules just because they can't keep up with it. Its beauty will be lost if what isn't permitted in 1990 is now permitted in 2018. Islam is the submission to the will and rules of Allah. If some people then decide to innovate and remove & add some rules, does that still make the religion and its rules a divine one? |

Ndonu101: So professional footballers are putting their victory at risk over a religious rule that came into existence when there were no professional footballers?
Why can’t people think outside the box?
The Qur’an makes concessions for travellers breaking fast early simply because when he qura’an was written travelling was one of the tedious task of the time
Why people can’t understand that if professional sportsmen existed when the qur’An was written they too would have had a concession Beats my imagination It doesn't work that way. The Qur'an was explicit about those who were exempted from fasting. In Islam, innovation (bring what isn't originally in the religion into the religion) is forbidden. Moreover, there were probably more activities during the time of the Prophet (PBUH) which were more tedious than football and the actors in those activities fasted. |

Saudi Arabia where you all copied this thing from is ahead of you in all ramification... their princes even date sexy ladies...
The same goes for my Christian brothers...Isreal is embracing tech and science, same Isreal that is the house Christianity... Africans are stupid abeg. Firstly, Muslims don't take religious instructions from Saudi Arabia. Whatever the princes of Saudi Arabia do, it doesn't mean it's supported by Islam. Secondly, Christianity isn't even the dominant religion in Israel. |

Unfortunately she could not differentiate religion from profession.. Who the Bleep told you that a Yoruba Muslim is inferior to a Hausa Muslim? The only Muslim who is superior to the other is the one who does better deeds than others. It's just like saying a Yoruba catholic is inferior to an Igbo catholic. |

Islam › Re: If You Converted To Islam From A Christian Family. Share Your Experience by misterh(m): 11:28am On Dec 15, 2017 |
bakynes: So why is the Christian thread open for everybody to comment but your own is sensored.
Na wa for Muslims! Firstly, it was Seun that decided to do that, not Nairaland Muslims. However, below is why I believe he did that. For those that were with NL 6-8 years ago and knew how NL worked, they would understand this declaration. In the early days of NL, religious related topics especially Islam related ones were always battlegrounds. Non Muslims usually invaded those topics and mock and deride Islam and Muslims. Meanwhile, Christian topics didn't witness these attacks. A subsection, Islam for Muslims was thereafter created just for Muslims and their topics. This didn't prevent those attacks from coming. Seun then made topics about Islam appear on the front page only on Fridays. Some Muslims saw this as being unfair as Christian related topics graced the front page at anytime. So, the questions being asked is one of the measures put in place by Seun to check these attacks on Islam topics on Nairaland.
If any topic is posted on the Islam for Muslims subsection, the question about whether you're a Muslim is automatically asked. It doesn't matter whether the thread is about Islam or not. I believe what Seun hopes to achieve with it is to make sure only Muslims view threads in the Islam for Muslim subsection. A non-Muslim making comment on them is seen as being at the wrong place. It's then weird when non-Muslims click on topics posted in the Islam for Muslim subsection but complain of the whole NL being islamized (whatever that means). Note that this is purely my opinion. |

Crime › Re: FRSC Reacts To Woman Beating Video, "The Woman Attacked Officer First' by misterh(m): 6:56am On Dec 09, 2017 |
davillian: If the guy wanted to defend himself he should have thrown punches not slaps. He is way stronger than the woman and he doesn't need to hit her to prove that. Women can be annoying sometimes but it's only normal for a weaker being to always launch the 1st attack. We men need self control. If I slap any woman she would pass out and might use that route to see God. We should learn how to tolerate women. Not trying to justify the officer but why should it be men that need self control? Secondly, if the woman knew that the man is stronger than her, I think it was foolish for her to have attacked him first. The officer should have exercised restraint though. |
