Your definition of a befitting burial might not be the definition of another person's. As a Muslim, a befitting burial is actually putting the body in the ground on time. No celebrations, no lavish spending, no cooking. It's a time for sober reflection. It might be 'rush rush burial' to you but that's the way the deceased's religion is practised.

Thistrendblog:
Top 5 Books By Wole Soyinka: The Tale, The Story and a Must Read.

5. The Beautification of Area Boy
That`s one of the recent books of Wole Soyinka. In this story, he portrays a life of the street urchins or “area boys”. The plot of the play is set in Lagos, Nigeria. The main personages of this play show how they face the everyday struggles and challenges.

Sanda is a university drop out. His wit helped made him a student but life forced him to dropout. He is a leader of a syndicate. Sanda works as a security guard in a shopping mall where he finds potential victims. Wole Soyinka portrays Sanda as the Nigerian version of Robin Hood. The character is a criminal but he is also a product of military oppressive rule.

The second character is Miseyi. She once studied at the same University as Sanda. Still, her quick judgment condemns any relationship between the two. Alas, when she starts to know him better – it becomes a new love story.

Another main character of the play is Judge. Through his deeds, we find Wole Soyinka`s philosophy of this play. Sometimes justice can be provided not through the laws but the merciful deeds.

The scarcity of water in Calabar has NOTHING to do with the FG. Did you even read the article? Or in your haste to paint GEJ as a saint, you hurriedly came to blame the FG for the scarcity? Inasmuch as this isn't a politics thread, but saying you heard 'nothing' during Jonathan's regime is laughable. Under whose regime did Nigeria start losing territories to terrorists? Under whose regime did graduates die during the NIS recruitment exercise? Under whose regime did subsidy scam happen? Chibok? Under whose regime did the Ombatse cult murder agents of the DSS and the NPF?

Unnecessary complaints, other cities don't have water board. Digging a borehole in Calabar is less than 500k cos Calabar is surrounded by water. In other states, 2m can't get u a borehole yet no complaint
Water supply in Calabar has been effective from more than a decade, so why should there be need for the residents to sink boreholes? It's not as if they don't have money to construct but there was no need for it. So, the complaints aren't unnecessary.

This is a made up story.
1. Nobody uses government water system anymore.. There is borehole water everywhere
2. Even if that was true then where did the satchet water companies get their own water from
3. Its raining like steady now in the south south.
This story is a big lie Mohammed
Have you been to Calabar before? I lived in Calabar for 1 year as recent as 2014 and depended solely on water from the Water Board. Before this scarcity, the Board have been quite effective in supplying water to homes.
2. There are a few people in Calabar who have boreholes in their homes. The boreholes are basically for the few hours or days when there's no supply.
3. Did you read the part where the director said they're currently carrying out repair works in the agency? So, it has nothing to do with rain.

In Calabar, yes. I served in Calabar in 2014 and the Water Board was effective then. Only a few people had boreholes then because there was little need for it.
PoliticsRe: Water Scarcity Hits Calabar by misterh(m): 11:22am On May 16, 2017
Calabar as a city depends solely on water from the Water Board. This is quite unlike some other parts of Nigeria especially Lagos and environs where boreholes and wells are normal sights.

The comments of the Director isn't alright. What measures were put in place to mitigate the scarcity that was certain to ensue before they embarked on the repair project?

Or why did tinubu not package himself to defeat Jonathan .
The truth like waku Said is that tinubu's part in bubu's Victory hás bin grossly misrepresented n exagerrated
Tinubu, like amaechi, rochas, jega, britain ,america,France etc all contributed to bubu's victory.
But truth be Said the popularity n personality of bubu was the Major singular factor responsible for the victory against Jonathan.
Buhari’s popularity didn't start in 2015. In fact, I doubt there is any Nigerian who has the cult following he has in the North. He has always had the North on lockdown in previous elections. Yet, he had always lost to the point of saying he won't contest for elections again. This suggests that only the votes of the North wasn't enough. It was after his merger with ACN and the factions of some parties that he really stood a viable chance to win the 2015 election.

Same way Hausas/Fulanis, some Yorubas and some Igbos have been voting for Buhari in previous elections while Buhari kept losing. What these old men sought to do with these comments is to greatly undermine the impact of the Southwest in the emergence of Buhari as the president. If the ACN hadn't merged with CPC, Buhari would not have had at his disposal, the established structure the ACN had.

The main difference between 2011 and 2015 was SOuthwest votes
How this isn't glaring to these old men is baffling. There was no way the SS and SE would vote for Buhari especially with GEJ in play. The only option left was to go with the SW.

And it worked out perfectly.

If Tinubu had worked for GEJ'S PDP Buhari will never be President. Also if Tinubu did not ensure Buhari won the APC primaries would Buhari be president?
Leave them in their delusion. Buhari had always limited his campaigns in previous elections to the North because he had no funds and structure to go round Nigeria. Working with Tinubu, he had access to the already established structures ACN (under Tinubu) had, media coverage, private jets for travels, a retinue of campaigners etc.

A lot of Nigerians and other party leaders contributed a lot. Kano State alone contributed about 1.8 million to Buhari’s total score, and so did many states in the North. Kano’s votes is more than the votes of the entire South-West,” Waku said.
Same way Kano's votes had been eclipsing SW votes in past elections yet Buhari didn't become president until he formed an alliance with the Southwest.

The north will always win if the south does not deliver bloc votes. It has nothing to do with Tinubu.a SE or SS alliance with the north would have still produced the same results against a southern candidate
With GEJ in play, do you believe there was ever any chance for a North/SE-SS alliance? In 2011, Buhari never even came 2nd in any SW state. GEJ won all SW states except Osun. The person that pulled the 2nd highest votes in the SW in 2011 was Ribadu, a candidate of ACN, a party firmly in control of Tinubu. So, Buhari never stood any chance if he didn't ally with BAT. He had run for about 3 times, he had always won Kano and the NW/NE states but never became president. It's not rocket science that the alliance between Buhari and Tinubu was the missing puzzle piece. There was no way on earth that Buhari was going to get substantial votes in the SS and SE. These old men can keep deceiving themselves but the discerning mind knows the huge impact Tinubu had.

Peep the results of the 2011 election and see how Buhari failed in the SW even though he won convincingly in the NE and NW.

CelebritiesRe: Peter Okoye's Reply To A Fan Who Said He Should Support Our Local League by misterh(m):
kindredspirit:
From Peter's insultive response to the tweet, you can tell he's not too smart in the brains department. He goes "mind your GADEM business" and calls somebody "insignificant " obviously spoiling for a fight with the tweeter.

If his grouse, like yours for example, was about the violence in our local league, pray tell, how is Peter's conduct different from that of some of our local football fans who brook no dissent, always unruly and ready to fight with their opponents ? Dosent his response portray everything that is wrong with some of our local league supporters, per your example ?

Some of these guys need to attend finishing schools with the way they engage with people. The gutter in them runs too deep, regardless of their wealth. You would expect that with their international fame, they would have come away polished, but No.

And, per your example about Nigerian League being "wack ". Once upon a time, Nigerian Music was also wack. It took the support of NIGERIANS, regardless of the trash the likes of Peter put out then, for our music to get to where it is today. Isn't that enough incentive for you and Peter to support our own ? You guys need to think deep.
While he might have gone far with his 2nd response, it was the fan who referred to herself as insignificant.
Secondly, you can't equate Peter's response with the unruly behaviour of our football fans. Peter hasn't threatened or maimed anyone with his comments, he hasn't committed any crime. So, how is his response related to the behaviour of football fans? Fans- home and abroad- tend to be unruly. Remember how English and Russian fans clashed at the Euros 2016. Leicester's fans also became unruly in Madrid last month. Over time, football fans have gone over the line. But what usually limits the recurrence of these unruly behaviours is the effective punitive measures in place in these countries. For instance, the Leicester fans involved in the fracas in Spain were sentenced to 4 months in prison. In our league, match officials, players and fellow fans have been maimed repeatedly and it appears no one gets punished for it as they tend to happen again.

As regards your point of comparing the League to the Nigeria Music Industry, you're missing my point. A good product is its own advertisement. Nigerians will support the league if those in charge do the right thing. You can't guilt trip me into supporting the league because I'm Nigerian. The music industry became successful because the right things were done by those in charge.

CelebritiesRe: Peter Okoye's Reply To A Fan Who Said He Should Support Our Local League by misterh(m): 9:04am On May 14, 2017
Is he expected to support the local league just because he's a celebrity? That's hypocrisy IMO. I dare say more than 80% of football watching Nigerians don't support clubs in the country. To me, this isn't a bad thing as the league is fraught with so much violence and irregularities. It's not okay for me and these celebrities to support Nigeria League just because it's Nigerian. That's not incentive enough.

Peter has been a vocal and passionate fan of Chelsea for years. If you think he's going to change that to conform with that fan's warped logic of supporting the local league just because it 'looks' patriotic, she's on a long thing.

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Netherlands.

With an airport like this, a flight delay or layover doesn’t sound so bad.

The Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is the main international airport of the Netherlands, houses its very own museum in Terminal U on Holland Boulevard.

The Rijksmuseum displays paintings by famous Dutch artists and features an always-changing temporary exhibition.

Passengers in transit can access the museum for free from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The unusual attractions don’t stop there, though.

The airport also features a casino as well as a mediation center.

Those who need to refresh while in transit, the airport provides individual shower rooms.
This is interesting. What a way to pass away time while waiting for your flight!

Nonsense. No agency should be above accountability and public scrutiny no matter how sensitive their duties are.

This same silly mentality is why the president and all governors vote huge amounts as security votes annually without giving account of how the funds were expended.

For us to succeed in the war on corruption, we must move away from this old military mentality. Every public official and government agencies entrusted with public funds must be made to give account of how the funds were expended. No agency, no matter how sensitive should be above accountability.
Don't you think those two words in bold are contradictory? You do realize that if a sensitive covert op is being carried out by the NIA, making a public investigation into the NIA would jeopardize that op. I'm not saying the NIA shouldn't be investigated, but we can't afford to make the findings a public affair. Making that mistake would spell doom for the country.
