Hi,
I have not been here for some time. I saw this post sometimes ago. I have worked on it and gotten the required output. If you are still interested in it, let me know so that I can make it available to you. However, I might just chip in that next time you should come out straight that you need assistance, rather than thinking you can use 'agbari'. It will let people respond faster. The people here are all matured. I don't think u can c anybody you can take for a ride.

Christianity EtcRe: Can A Christian Marry More Than One Wife? by MisterMan(m): 12:10pm On Aug 23, 2008
This thread has been extensively discussed sometimes last year in https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-78401.0.html. I noticed that instead of having a robust discussion, people were busy abusing one another. This is not really a good thing to do.

I am simply curious about the kind of bible Yisraylite is using. I wonder why, when quoting the bible, he uses 'strange' names like Yahawah. If you want to use Yahweh, why don’t you use Yahweh. Why do you keep referring to Jacob as Dawad etc. If is akin to referring to Olusegun Obasanjo Godwin Obasanjo. Would you want to refer to George Bush as George Igbo. This are things that one will feel a man should know.

At times I shudder at the kind of gutter language some people are used to. And some people are downright rude. Imagine somebody say: Wow ! you people are down right daft. How rude could some people be in the name of discussion. You can imagine Mazaje saying: hey Yisraylite go Bleep yourself or get laid you pussy starved muzzy punk. I guess people has got to have some manners.

I hate it when some people cannot read between the lines. I usually go to the Programming section, and once in a long while, I go to Jokes section to lighten up. I really hate to be rude, but why are some people really stupid. The guy wanted to be funny, and that was why he wrote that kind of English. Anyway, Baba_Dibia, you succeeded with me. You wanted me to laugh and lighten up. And is what exactly happened to me. Don't mind those stupid people who thought you are 419. Ride on broda. U are great. I really enjoy this piece.

So how was the visa interview?
Yeah, how was the interview? Were you successful? I (and I am sure others) are keen to know the kind of interviews questions you were asked. I don't really care about the student visa, however you may want to fill us in for the sake of those that may be interested. I am more concerned about the 'highly skilled visa'. I am sure you know what I am talking about. Were you successful. If yes, would you be kind enough to share tips about the kind of questions you were asked, the kind of preparation you made, and what made you think contributed to you success. On the other hand, if you were not that fortunate, what do you think contributed to that. We should be able to learn from one another.

Cheers

As Seun has rightly pointed out 'No'. It is just a normal warning that there is possibility of you being snooped on. You will normally ignore this message except you are sending something sensitive, such as password. No website worth its salt will do that without SSL. I mean for important password.

ProgrammingRe: Test Your Knowledge Of Excel On This by MisterMan(m): 10:49am On Aug 05, 2008
Here is my own solution. I thought you would e-mail me so to be able to download the stuff. I have created an executable file. First off, you will need to install, then other things run expressly. In most cases, just click on the default. After Installing, go to the folder where you install the program and double click. It asks for the folder where the Excel files are, and in minutes, it completes.

Because I don’t know what you really want to do with it, I saved the results both in .XLS file and FoxPro’s .dbf file. You just save the Excel file and use it the way you want. A sample screenshot is attached.

One caveat however. The phone number is in number format. I have not been able to lay my hand on the documentation in VBA to convert the number to string. The problem actually is the way Excel sees the number. It reports it as number whereas it is actually a string. Apart from that, it runs OK.

BusinessRe: Which Bank Is The Most Customer Friendly In Nigeria? by MisterMan(m): 4:10pm On Mar 07, 2008
HAPPY CUSTOMER HAPPY BANK. I give it to InterContinental Bank. The fact is: What happens if you have an issue with your bank? How is it resolved? To me that is the acid test. If you ever have any issue with Intercontinental Bank, you will go away satisfied. The people there make you feel not like a customer, but as part of the family and a friend. Very friendly people. If you have never tried that bank, plase do. You will never regret it.

I have been fortunate to deal with so many of them, the names just escaped my memory now, but there is this Arise Bimbo in their Unity Road branch (Ilorin) and a lot of pple in their Kano branch. There are some you have never met but the way they deal with your problems make you to be proud of the bank.

It might not be over for her, Obama is on a winning streak right now but lets wait till march after Ohio and Texas. grin
Exit pools show that the lead she enjoys is getting smaller. Agreed, Obama may not win those states but then he at least has reduced the gap. Obama 4 President.
PoliticsRe: Hillary Vs Obama- You Decide 08 by MisterMan(m): 6:23am On Feb 23, 2008
I am black and proud. .Yes, Obama 4 president. The bitter truth is that in politics, the better candidate may not win. That is the truth. Look, pple keep saying that HRC has experience. What experience? Being the wife of governor of Arkansas and being the first lady of US? Is that the experience? because u are the wife of a surgeon does not make you to be a doctor. Her heath issue seems to be the better option. She was in charge of health issue when her husband was the president. What was her track record? Yes we can do it. We need fresh breath in White House.
PoliticsRe: Enough Of This Obama Abeg This Is Naija by MisterMan(m): 6:12am On Feb 23, 2008
This is the hottest topic right now. It is not only here in Nairaland or Naija that it is being discussed. It is also over the world. Britain, Germany, Ghana. Do you know what it means to the psyche of the blackman. Do you know that Obama's father is from Kenya. What does it mean to you and to other black pple. It means that your son could one day become the president of US if you happened to be married to an American. That is hope. Now our beloved Martin Luther King's death has not been in vain. Have you hear about "I have a dream". His dream is becoming a reality. One will not be judged by the color of one's skin. Obama is shaming KKK, Adolf Hitler and other stupid pple who think the blalck man is inferior. So, it is simply that the price of bread will not be reduced because a black man is the president of US.

Because they used php for the website does NOT mean they used that for the web application. I am sure because when u logged in to their site and u saw . php, u assumed they are using that for the web application (the two are not the same). Though I don't know what they used for the app, I doubt if it is in php.

If you are using something like Access or FoxPro as the database, you can use DNS-less access. I suppose it should work with all kinds of database. However, I have not used it with SQL but it should work. The advantage here is that the computer does the house keeping itself.

I am sure you are aware that KoboJunkie assigned some tasks to us. I don't understand what the task is all about. I have read it over and over again. What are we supposed to do? Here again is the task description:

We all need to download Visual Studio 2008 Express at least and SQL 2005 express at least for this project. Ajax is also needed and this will all be implemented on .NET 3.5. Those who do not have a way of getting the download should please go to www.asp.net

Is the task the downloading of VS 2008 Express or what? I contacted KoboJunkie over the task but up til now, there is no reply. Just update me and I think I can vounteer to do whatever the task is. I have also wanted to contact you privately, but then I don't know most of the members e-mail address. My internet connection has improved considerably now and while it is still OK, I want to be able to do as much as possible, that is if we still agree to continue with the project.

I love the information that Ayinkus provided. What is the purpose of doing this in the first place? We thought this kind of thing did not exist. Now since we know that it exists, what next do we do? Since we have not started, why don't we look at something else that we can do to benefit the country. To me, we will just be re-inventing the wheel. The way some people sounded, it is as if we are in competition with some other people. To me that is not the reason why we are doing this. Reading this post, a lot of people will start raining abuses on me. When somebody can accuse Ayinkus of discouraging others when he was merely informing us of some information he was privileged to have, what will they say about me.

If there is a government department that has been charged with that function and obviously they are doing that, I feel we should let them know what we are coming up with and if there is anything that can be done to combine the two 'groups' together. If we don't go that route, I don't see any point in our doing it anyway. We are just about to start while they are already at the testing stage. So what is the point.

Mind you this is merely my opinion. If the group still feel we should continue, I will, though I don't see any reason why we should. We should come up with some other things that will be USEFUL for the country. In fact, there are some other things I have in mind too. I will keep it for now so that people will not feel I am killing a GOOD and BRIGHT idea so that I can push forward my own idea.

It is a good idea. It is a bright one. The question is: Do we continue when others are doing it? Others should come up with some other ideas. Yes I realise other people will say Yes, there was Windows before somebody came up with Linux. There are countless other packages from the mainstream. There was Internet Explorer yet there is Firefox as open and free alternative. That is precisely the point. Those people wanted to be sure that Microsoft will not dominate. They are competing with Microsoft. We are NOT competing with NESG or whatever the body is.

What do you think?
RomanceRe: Emotionally And Financially Spent by MisterMan(m): 1:08pm On Feb 13, 2008
I still have one or two things to contribute. Since you said she will read it, let me just address ger directly.

Since the guy does not love you, why waste your time. You don't seem to realise that your body clock is ticking away. If you think that you are still young, you are decieving your self.

Now there are two senerios here. It is either he marries you (which I seriously doubt) or he leaves you. If he leaves you, you will have to start all over again. Time is ticking away. The older you become, the harder it becomes to get your CHOICE.

Now if he marries you. I can see a lot of problems ahead. In marriage, it is best for two people who are in love to get married. Did you watch NTA Newsline last Sunday. If you missed it, here is the gist. A man beat her wife till she died. Imagine the kind of beating she must half recieved. It happened in Ilorin. They showed the corpse of the woman and the man also in police station.

I know what is going on in your head: Ah no, he is not that kind of person. He has never raised up his hand to beat me. I know better than you. Have you been hearing about Whitney Houston lately. Whitney was a gorgeous woman. She has everything. Fabouslously wealthy, famous, beautiful. Anything positive, she had it. However, she maid the greatest mistake of her life. A classical story of a good girl in love with a bad boy. It was terrible. See the picture below. That was her then and now (thankfully she has come back to her senses now and is divorced). Look at the wasted life, a lot of hearbreak, cries. Please do not let your own case be like that. Your life is too short to be wasted. Say good ridiance to bad rubbish.

RomanceRe: Why Do They Keep Coming Back? by MisterMan(m): 12:46pm On Feb 13, 2008
Bravo Lady. Keep it up. Those guys sucks. They didn't really love u in the first place. They are more interested in your cunt. If a guy really love u, he will be more than willing to wait. He just want to add you to the list.
When I was dating my wife and I learnt her stance (she was a virgin too), Boy was I mad with love and admiration for her. Keep it. That is your weapon. Don't let anybody decieve you that virginity is nothing. Personally I treasure it. You will surely meet somebody who reasons like you. Girl I am happy for you and mighty proud of you.

They keep coming back because they now know your value. I love the following quotes. One, more of male ego and perhaps they now know your worth
bjibola:
They keep coming back because you are unfinished business. Its probably not love dear, its the male ego thing. They just have to be the one to pop the cherry.
adeboo:
Thats so true - stand your ground without wavering.

But if they go cause u wont give them sex, then let them keep stepping - on the other hand, they have obviously seen that they can't live without you and want u back.
The above is also very true. Hold your head high. Wishing you happy valentine.

I am really very disappointed. I am disappointed in those that replied to this stupid thread. The first time I saw it, as soon as I read a little and saw where he was at, I closed the thread. People (programmers for that matter) should not have deign a reply. I wonder the kind of brains people like Nwaezek and Boyolala have. If I was told this when I was a three year old, I wouldn't have taken it serious. I am sure people like Seun and KoboJunkie will NEVER reply to any of this stupid things

RomanceRe: I'm About To End My Relationship Because It Is "Too Perfect" by MisterMan(m): 2:43pm On Feb 07, 2008
I hope I am making some sense here becaues I could not finish reading all the posts. I just saw it today. I tried to contact the poster privately. Alas, his address is not available. Please I want to say one or two things privately to you.

However, all I can say is that you have found a real GEM. Don't let all those pple decieve you. You don't need to test her by bringing a woman et all. One: She is seriously in love with you. Two, that is her nature. Don't take her for granted. I have been in that situation about 3 TIMES now. I met three (3) different girls who are just like that. The first one, got married in 1995. She always wanted to please me. I was the envy of all my peers then. She went with somebody that was better the way he treated her. She is somewhere is US now. I am very happy for her. I hope she will be happy. She deserves it anyway.

The second one used to kneel down to great me. Don't laugh. That was the situation. She is not dumb. She is highly educated, intelligent and God fearing. Perhaps you may say that she was seriuosly looking for somebody to marry her and she had become 'anfani adugbo' or an 'animasaun'. Far from it. VERY VERY DECENT. She was a VIRGIN. Men were always toasting her then. May be it was because I was her first love. There was a time we had to call it quits because she decided to give her life to Christ. We came back together simply because of fate.

The third person is also well mannered. Tall beautiful and educated. Plus she was a virgin. She gives me MAXIMUM respect. She says sir to me. "What do you want to eat sir? Welcome sir." That kind of stuff. And for your information, I am not a rich dude. So they are not after my money. I am not most handsome guy on earth. In short, I am plain average.

My opinion is: Take proper care of her. Show love to her. Give her No 1 consideration. Believe me, you will enjoy your marriage. You need to be on your guard however. You need to make double effort to make her happy. It will not be easy. Please for the sake of love and all those things that you hold dear, treat her well. It will not be easy because the tendercy to take undue advantage of her nature will be there.

Forget the advise some people tell you. She is not neccessarily frustrated. I made an example of myself. None of those three people were frustrated by any meaning of the word. There are people like that. Count yourself lucky. She is not hiding anything. That is her true nature. Love her. Cherish her. You will never regret it. Yes I will tell you the truth: It gets on my nerve when my wife will not express her opinion. Always counting on me. At times I find her too submissive. But that is her nature. I can't change that. Look at that as her strong point. If you truly love her, you should not let that be a big deal.

Do you know the bottom line: You need to be very careful. Don't take any rash decision. Your decision may hurt somebody who dearly loves you.

please mail me at tianshihotguy@yahoo.com. By the way, I forgot to mention that I am happily married to the third lady. Bless you. Love your woman and protect her FIERCELY. You will be happy you did.
RomanceRe: Emotionally And Financially Spent by MisterMan(m): 1:22pm On Feb 07, 2008
Let me quote u:
bebe2007:
My friend is in a stupid relationship. She is dating this very goregeous guy, very clean, well mannered and dead broke. He was rich before now, business went down and he is broke. Fair enough it happens. The guy is emotionally unavailable for her, he is only nice to her when he wants sex or money (from her observations). She gets to give him money for every thing. I think she is carried away by his looks. Please guys look into this and advice accordingly. she will read your comments. Thank you
What manner of a woman is your friend? I guess some bolts and screws are missing upstairs. Sorry if I sounded so insulting. That shows how ridicoulsy silly your friend appears to me. She is in a lose-lose situation while he is in win-win one. If what you said is correct, she will get ABSOTULY nothing at the end of the day. Obvioulsly, he needs a screw-mate and a source of easy cash. Because he is handsome. So what? Is he still going to be this handsome? The guy obviuosly is not intereeted in her. While is she wasting her time? She doesn't realise thar she is seriously wasting her time. A couple more years, she will hardly get anybody to make passes at her.

He would be nice only when he wants sex and money. That should tell her where she stands with him. Behind her, the guy will be making fun of her with his friends. So why does she waste her time? O woman, you are beautiful. Why ridicule and cheapen yourself? What makes her think she may not get better guy when (not if) he leaves. It is better for her to find somebody that really care and love her. Marriage is not a bed of roses. You need love to move past the rough edges. My candid opinion is that she should find her soul mate. She should find somebody who loves and appreciates her and not somebody who will see her as banging mate and a source of cash.

To those other men who replied, How could you be this mean? The poster obviously care about her friend. And because of this, God bless you my sister. As you care for your friend, may God care for you. This is not Gbeborun. I thought men that are this hare-brained have gone out of extinshion since 20th century
