According to First Weekly Magazine's findings, Asiwaju Tinubu has released a whooping 30 billion naira to the ACN governorship candidate, Barrister Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), to prosecute the political war and unseat the incumbent Gov. Segun Mimiko of the Labour Party. Our source informed us that the former Lagos State Governor has already deployed all his political warriors to Ondo State, to make sure the state is delivered for ACN. “Yes, it's true Asiwaju has approved N30 billion for ACN in Ondo State. And I want to assure you that the money will be spent well to win the governorship election,” a source confided in us. We further gathered that Tinubu sees winning Ondo State by the ACN as very important to his dream of regional integration of the South West zone. “It's very important we get back the glory of the South West, and Ondo State is very key to the development of the entire South West. That is why Asiwaju is not taking this with kids' gloves at all. I can tell you that you will see changes in the campaign strategies of the ACN in the next few days. "It is just two months to the election, and I want to confess to you that Ondo people already know that it's only ACN that can deliver democracy dividends for them,” an ACN stalwart in Ondo State stated. But on the contrary, a Labour Party chieftain, who spoke with us on the condition of anonymity, said ACN does not exist in Ondo State. “Where is the structure of ACN in Ondo? They are bringing in people from Lagos to come and fool Ondo indigenes. But we are very intelligent here. Mimiko is our man and we have decided in Ondo to give him a second term. “Forget regional integration they are preaching. They know that apart from Lagos, Ondo is the richest in South West. Tinubu's eyes are in our oil money, and we won't let him get it. You see, combine Ekiti, Osun, Ogun and Oyo state's allocation together, it is not up to what Ondo State gets from it's 13 percent derivation of oil. So, it's our oil money that Tinubu wants, and he won't even smell it,” the Labour Party official said. A political observer who spoke with us also cast doubt on the chances of the action congress winning the Ondo governorship race. “Before Akeredolu was forced on the party members of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), as their flagbearer, the ACN was in close second, giving the Labour Party a real threat, but with the choice of Akeredolu, the ACN has slipped to the third, behind even the PDP, the party is so much in disarray now. Can you imagine that out of the about 41 in the race, the night Akeredolu was pronounced as the flagbearer, about twenty one of them decamped to the Labour Party, while between twelve and fifteen left for the PDP. You can see what imposition of candidates can do. “Ask Asiwaju what Tunji Abayomi told him, when he called them to a peace meeting. He said Tinubu has destroyed ACN in Ondo, also can you imagine what Professor Boroffice is going through now? The man was enjoying himself 'jeje' in the Senate, when Tinubu started mounting pressure on him and started sending text messages to him and his wife that he is the next Governor of Ondo, the senator bought the bait and jumped from the Labour ship to ACN or is it the case of Abraham, a young enterprising billionaire, who was enjoying his peace in America only to be invited home, used and dumped? “If you add all these, and the fact that the ACN leaders wanted to pay back a favour done them by somebody to the detriment of the party's goodwill in the state, the outcome might be disastrous,” he said. Before now, there are serious of insinuations and side talks about the retirement of the most respected and powerful clergyman, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God. Even during his 70th birthday, some certain authorities in the church, we learnt, gathered to raise a motion that the man of God should be retired as he clocked 70. In on of the articles written by the man of God, it was discovered that he has already written about the kind of retirement he wants. In this literary work, he well explained how he intends to retire. The article culled from the Open Heavens annual publication of Monday October 3rd, 2011, Daddy Adeboye, as he’s fondly called wrote about `The True Face of Retirement. He said God has so much to give to man, and the spirit man has so much space to be filled by God…..“Sometimes, when I see some of our elders retiring, I shake my head because contrary to what they think, it is only the beginning for them. Retirement actually means more time to pray all night since you are not going to the office in the morning. The greatest literally work done by John the Beloved was Book of Revelation-a revelation he got while banished on the Island of Patmos. If God allows me to retire, I would sit at His feet daily and learn from Him, receive revelations and pour these into books for generations unborn. This way, by His grace, I could produce a book every month until he calls me home.’’ Obviously, this should tell those who clamour for his retirement that the respected man of God whose regime as the G.O brought goodness to the church cannot be retired by any man but God. It’s so evident that even when God has permitted him to retire; he will still be involved in the work of God, publishing revelations from God to the members of the church and other denominations. ‘Would sit at His feet’, of course, the only place a man can sit at the feet of Christ is in the vineyard, so, it should be understood that until God says come home, Pa Adeboye remains the General Overseer of one of the biggest congregation churches in the world. http://news.naij.com/4958.html

Mr Ayinla Kangu of Pakata Area in Ilorin on Monday asked an Ilorin Area Court to dissolve his five-year-old marriage to Raliatu Ologede, over alleged impatience and domineering attitude. The complainant cited an instance when his wife slapped him for his inability to pay their child’s school fees. “My lord, I want an end to this marriage. My wife is impatient, domineering and lousy. She is fond of beating me over any minor issues. “In fact, when I could not pay our child’s school fees, she covered my face with slaps. She seized my cell phone and radio set three months ago and as a result, I have lost contact with my family members and friends,’’ Kangu said. He said that he got married to Ologede in 2007 and the marriage was blessed with a four- year-old boy but prayed the court to dissolve the marriage. The defendant denied the allegation, saying that “I only grabbed his shirt, I did not slap him.’’ She said that the complainant was always reluctant to pay their child’s school fees. “Imagine, in January this year, my husband dropped N2000 as upkeep allowance and travelled to Kaduna where he spent three months, expecting me and the child to survive on that amount,’’ she said. The defendant, however, prayed the court to allow her get accommodation before granting the request of the plaintiff. The presiding Judge, Mr Yusuf Abdulkareem advised the parties to explore possible means of amicable settlement and adjourned the case to August 16 for further hearing.
