RIP a legend, an Icon, a quintessential writer, a colossus, an erudite Professor and a father & grand father. |
I just observed federal character was not applied in presidential pardon. How can hausa/fulani alone have 5 people, Yoruba 2, Niger Delta 1 and not a single Igbo. I think its not equitable. Or does it mean that no Igbo man has stolen & deserves 2 b pardoned? If Abdulkarim Adisa deserves pardon, why can't one Igbo politicians be pardoned or is there none? |
Scam alert! |
Supporters of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) pushed their case further yesterday at the Senate, with startling facts on the sector. Senator Ita Enang (Akwa Ibom North East) described the opposition to the 10 per cent host community fund by mostly northern senators as “misplaced”. Enang, who is also the Chairman, Senate Committee on Rules and Business, said that those opposed to the fund should know that over 83 per cent of oil blocks are owned by northerners. But he did not give the number of oil blocks Nigeria has. Senate President David Mark, who seemed to have been shocked by what Enang said, said the Akwa Ibom lawmaker should not be distracted (some senators were grumbling) because he was making an important point. Mark asked Enang whether he could substantiate his claim. Enang promptly pulled out a document from his folder and reeled out oil blocs and their owners. He said he did not intend to divide the country but to guide those who wanted to contribute to the debate to be truly informed. He listed northerners who own oil blocks to include Alhaji Mai Deribe, Borno State and owner of Cavendish Petroleum, which operates OML 110 with an average of about N4billion monthly. He also listed Seplat/Platform Petroleum, operators of the ASUOKPU/UMUTU Marginal Field with Mallam (Prince) Sanusi Lamido, Kano , as a major shareholder and director. South Atlantic Petroleum Limited (SAPETRO) established by General T. Y. Danjuma, Taraba State , who is also chairman of Eni Nigeria Limited. SAPETRO partnered with Total Upstream Nigeria Limited (TUPNI) and Brasoil Oil Services Company Nigeria Limited to become operators of the OPL 246. AMNI International Petroleum and Development Company is owned by Alhaji (Colonel) Sani Bello of Kontangora , Niger State. “They are operators of OML 112 and OML 117,” he said. He said that a former Petroleum Minister and former OPEC Chairman, Rilwanu Lukman, another northerner manages AMNI oil blocks “with very key interest in the NNPC/Vitol trading deal.” He said that Oriental Energy Resources Limited, a company owned by Alhaji Indimi, runs three oil blocks – OML 115, the Oldwok field and the Ebok field. He said that Alhaji Aminu Dantata’s Express Petroleum and Gas Limited, operates OML 108. Enang said that OML 113 allocated to Yinka Folawiyo Petroleum Limited is owned by Alhaji W.I. Folawiyo. Alhaji Saleh Mohammed Gambo, North East Petroleum Limited, is the holder of the OPL 215 Licence. North East Petroleum was awarded blocs OPL 276 and OPL 283 and closing thereupon a Joint Venture Agreement with Centrica Resources Nigeria Limited and CCC Oil and Gas. He said that INTEL is owned by former Vice President Atiku, the late Gen. Shehu Musa Yar’Adua and Ado Bayero. It has substantial stakes in Nigeria ’s oil exploration industry both in Nigeria and Sao Tome and Principe . He said that Mike Adenuga’s Conoil is the oldest indigenous oil exploration company with six blocks. OPL 291 was awarded to Starcrest Energy Nigeria Limited, owned by Emeka Offor, which was sold to Addax Petroleum. Enang urged the Senate to cause the immediate revocation of all oil blocks licences and their redistribution, in accordance with the Federal Character Principle. He said: “My submission is that when you look at the distribution of those who own oil blocks and the amount of money that comes from the different oil blocks to the Federation Account and you see the owners of these oil blocks, you will agree with me that there is inequity in the distribution of oil blocks. “The oil is produced in the Niger Delta yet it is the people of the Northeast and the Northwest and a little of the Northcentral, almost nothing of the Southwest and the Southeast, that are the persons owning and controlling these oil blocks. “Almost nothing for the Southsouth, Niger Delta oil producing areas. |
Correct, our Able C in C. That's the aura & packaging that goes with the Exalted position. Haters deal with it. Let Boko try any nonsense, na RIP go be their fate. |
I bet some of u here, if u do not take time with this APC oveerhyped profile, GEJ will draw the sympathy of Nigerians & win the election again in 2015. For opposition to succeed, it must be constructive not a clueless one & unnecessary noise making. I have not spoken for some time on this forum though I cannot do without Nairaland for a day & I enjoy it. If APC knows solution to Boko Haram insurgence let them nip their activities to the bud afterall its APC states (Borno & Yobe). Buhari knows solution to this, why not from the background explore it & definitely we will know & by 2015 we may not have option than for us all to cry that he's the man. Instead they will not do it, they preferred that GEJ's govt should be distracted & rubbished so they will come & take over. Definitely, another uprising will start from the South, vandalizing & kidnapping of the Oil workers which will immediately reflect on our economy. Let's give others a chance & I know for sure that GEJ is a democratic President & someone that listens to critics, so any constructive one will definitely be listened to & not one myopic & sentimental criticism. He swallowed his pride on UNILAG name change & reversed it but some stubborn persons will not eat their vomit & they must use every means possible within their reach as C in C to achieve no matter whose ox is gored. (They can use the judiciary, decide not to fund the University, remove the VC if stubborn, shut down the university if there's uprising then a Committee wil be set up to investigate the remote & immediate causes of the uprising, they will sit for 3months whilst the school remains shut etc but he decided to backdown since it wasn't a popular opinion. But some other person as President will do every bad thing possible to achieve it just to keep his pride. I just pray we will be alive when any of these over ambitious Hausa Fulani man enters, we will all be here. Take Sanusi for eg, he doesn't care what happens to the poor bankers/families out there bt bc of ego/personal problems with Ibrus & Akigbolas he was ready to do everythn humanly possible to crush his perceived enemies no matter who suffers. That's why he can afford to sell Intercontinental to Access Bank, something that is unthinkable economically, financially & otherwise. This is what makes GEJ different, let's criticize constructively not all these name calling. |
Some critics here are just fools. If the State Govt decides to declare public holidays, it is best known to them afterall this is not the first time Public holidays is being declared on a/c of a Presidents visit both in Nigeria and other countries. We are talking about a volatile state, an area that have vowed that as far as a Southerner is in power they will continue to kill people and destroy things. So if one of the security measures requires that movt is restricted, so be it. Our C in C must go there & come out alive even if collateral damage is caused. I do not blame most of u because GEJ demystified the office of the President by winning election as opposed to the usual belief that the position is reserved for top Military echelons, the Hausa Fulani Ruling Class, the top/Int'l Biz Class like Abiola etc who though was not allowed to smell the position. If the likes of the Hausa Fulani Ruling class were there, I knw we cannot criticize more because we may not know much of the things happening. Am not a fan of GEJ infact then I was supporting Atiku in PDP primaries but I have to respect the position he's occupying. Even Borno Govt is APC but they hv to shove it down their throat & ensure C in C in secured in their State. There's a limit to politiking & when to have interest of the masses at heart. Safe Visit to Yobe & Borno States Mr. President. |
That drainage was filled with dirts from Ladipo Market, hence the drainage must be shut down |
SAY HELL NO TO MUSLIM/MUSLIM TICKET. We will not accept it again. |
It stil boils down to What Anyim said about his Boss, GEJ being a tolerant leader who gives them the freedom to practice democracy. But come to think of it, how on earth is Sanusi Lamido Sanusi (SLS) suppose to be there. No matter his relationship with ElRufai, he's not supppose to be there. He is a top Govt Public Officer, yet he's is winning & dinning with opposition in flagrant disregard of his master. Can this happen under OBJ's govt, if Soludo had done such I bet, he wouldn't last 1month on that seat. I know SLS will not attend such if Yaradua were to be in power. I therefore urge SLS to immediately resign his position as CBN Governor, because of the impression he has created to the int'l community, Nigerians & the world at large. Where he refuses to resign, GEJ should quietly terminate his appoinrment & replace him with someone else. This is the opportunity to do it becauise SLS does not qualify to be in that seat ab initio. He only attends opposition gathering, the other it was when OBJ had his political gathering to frustrate GEJ out bf 2015, though he termed it fund raising for building mosque in Otta farm, SLS was there doling out money, meanwhile that gathering was a scheme b/w OBJ & Northerners to choose from amongst them who will jostle for GEJ's seat in 2015. Plz let SLS go |
Dangote we are not interested, thanks |

To me Prof Ilochi Okafor (SAN) is the rightful camdidate & I know he will deliver. He has the discipline & other qualities. |
Rest in Peace, Sir Patrick! |
Kidnappers, I beg u release the best VC ever. This man was the best that happened in the Faculty of Law Unizik & the University as a whole. A no nonsense man, disciplinarian, an achiever, he brought tremendous development to Unizik & infact he would have been the best that can happen to Anambra State if given the opportunity to govern the State, he is fearless & a strong man who always brings standard. Anyway I saw him last during the funeral/court session of his colleague Lawyer/SAN: Chief Chimezie Ikeazor SAN (Oboli Obosi), just on last week. I beg una free the man joor, una no dey look face! |
Those kind of people do not deserve to be alive, taking them to court is just to encourage the crime & they will go scot free by the time we start applying all principles of fair hearing. To me that is what people like Senator Ndume, Ali Kondiga, Abdul Quaqa & those other Boko Kingpin deserve. Good one from Mr. Obi, but Anambra esp Awka needs more Physical/infrastructural development. U have less than two years to bid farewell as Chief Executive Officer of the state, so engrave your name solidly in the good history book. |
Custom - aboki dominance CBN- aboki CAC- aboki NNPC- aboki & ofe mmanu Education - ofe mmanu NEPA & NITEL (old) - ofe mmanu Health - ofe mmanu Police/ Army- aboki FCMB, SkyeBank, Sterling Bank- ofe mmanu NDIC - aboki/ ofe mmanu Judiciary(Bench) - aboki Even the Aviation is dominated by same Yoruba Yoruba people aka ofe mmanu Anyway no cause for alarm, all these complaints by the abokis & ngbatis are signs of weakness by lazy & incompetent set of people. |
Welcome back Mummy Ngeria! We love u! |
You are the Lord that healeth us, You are the Lord our healer, You sent your words and healed our disease, You are the Lord our healer! And so Heavenly Father I call down Your healing power and mercies upon Your daughter: Dame Patience Jonathan, may she recover from any infirmity troubling her and may the healing be permanent in her life and may Your name be forever glorified in Jesus name. AMEN |
Patience shall come back hale and hearty in Jesus Name, Amen! |
Sahara leave President GEJ & his private life alone. Madam Patience God will see u through! |
Beer parlour speculation. I know for Anambra, the aviation minister is not contesting, Nnaji from Enugu isn't though he is no longer there. Prof Onwuliri, the Minister of State Foreign Affairs from Imo State will not though she was former running mate to Ohakim. May be Health Minister & Labour & Productivity may have such interest because their Governors are in their last terms besides they are male (for now woman never win Guber election in Nigeria) So the news is just speculation & an attempt to smear and distract the ministers, though some may have interest. |
Akuko, I guess immediately Jonathan entered as President Nigerians started spending N100B in Ghanaian Universities Nonsense critics |
Get well soon, ma'am! |
Congrats Orji, keep the flag flying! I ga-alu ofuma n'afa Jesus. |
Where is ZUBY777? Ofcourse u know why? |
When GLO wanted to rollout in Ghana, their govt insisted that Glo must rollout in other parts of the country & not limit to Accra, if Govt doesn't do it, there is no way meaningful development will set in. Govt has done their bid to wit: upgrading the Airport considering the target/expected passengers, how will u now know the capacity of passengers u will get if Int'l flights do not ply the airport. Even the sily House of Reps member is accussing the govt of marginalizing a section & which section is that? Some of us because of the hatred that has beclouded our sense of reasoning/judgement, anything good that pertains to Eastern Nig, they must kick against it so that it will not see the light of the day, if it is negative, they will celebrate. Anyway u play the much u can, one day this our generation will phase out! |
