@POSTER, I AGREE WITH YOU. PEOPLE SUPPORTING BUHARI SHOULD HAVE A RE-THINK. THE FACT IS SIMPLE; BUHARI CLAIMS HE WANTS TO SANITIZE NIGERIA AND SOME OF YOU HOLD HIM AS A SAINT, THE QUESTION IS, IS IT WITH IBB, ATIKU AND THOSE MEN SHOUTING FOR ZONING THAT YOU THINK HE CAN SANITIZE NIGERIA. MY SIMPLE CONCLUSION IS; BUHARI IS A SECTIONAL, RELIGIOUS & REGIONAL LEADER AND WE SHOULD NOT VOTE FOR THAT KIND OF PERSON. IN A BID TO ENSURE NORTHERNERS HOLD UNTO POWER, ALL THOSE CROOKS ARE ALIGNING AND HAVING CLANDESTINE MEETING. IF I WERE JONATHAN, AFTER ELECTION, IBB, ATIKU ETC SHOULD FACE PANEL IN PDP OR FACE EXPULSION, FOR IT AMOUNTS TO ANTI PARTY ACTIVITY, IF AT THIS TIME, THEY ARE WORKING AGAINST THE INTEREST OF THEIR PARTY. JONATHAN IS THE BEST CANDIDATE FOR THIS ELECTION. VOTE FOR JONATHAN! VOTE FOR PDP! |
GEJ is winning the election, simple! |
The heading should be rephrased to be: Oluremi Tinubu the first Lagos Female Senator. A lot of women have been in the senate (with or without court cases) and even in the just concluded election women have equally made. Women like Nenadi Usman, Chris Anyanwu, Nkechi Nwogu etc. @Poster, rephrase! |
Am in Ikoyi - Am voting for Goodluck/Sambo for PRESIDENCY |
@Poster, stop & desist from making senseless & clueless comments! |
This Saharareporters and haters of Goodluck can go any extent. They went and forged their own likely questions because they know those are the kind questions that Goodluck might likely be posed with, yet their questions were completely off. I guess they have to calm down now cos even Goodluck has explained his reasons for not participating in the earlier debate and I support his views because no President will go around accepting debate requests from every group instead of concentrating on other national issues as well as strategising against winning the next poll's election. May be if he had accepted, NN24, Silverb, Channels, AIT, African Magic, TVC, Galaxy etc will all invite him differently for a presidential debate. For instance may be because Fashola was accepting debates from all stations in Lagos that was why about three or four bodies have conducted debates in Lagos and they were attending yet it has not made any difference. People that will vote for Fashola have made up their mind same with Ade Dosumu of PDP. |
It is allowed in politics, without offense to anybody. If Buhari wins tomorrow, will he allow another political party to come to the National Station to advertise that there are NO roads, no hospitals, no schools etc built by him, his party (CPC) and his government. It is not out of place to reject such offensive advert by the National Station because Buhari, Ribadu, Shekarau, Pat Utomi etc will do same thing! |
What I watched yesterday was no debate. It was as if it was a child's play. I heard one of the debaters criticizing Fashola that a wife or mother of a prominent Lagosian was finding it difficult to have an appointment with Fashola and stuffs like that, which I think infuriated the Governor. Anyway, I am yet to see a Governorship debate that could match what they did in Anambra State in 2010 (during the Gubernatorial Election there) where all the gubernatorial candidates in the likes of Soludo, Peter Obi, Ngige, Andy Uba etc, made very sound submissions that put the electorates into dilemma of who to vote for. Everyone of them looked like a likely winner in that election especially after listening to their various manifestos and how they answered questions, though the Governor later won the election. But what I saw yesterday, there was no seriousness on the faces of the candidates, all the same, Fashola will carry the day. Congrats! |
A wild goose chase!!! |
Still on Anambra State; (1) Ernest Ndukwe (former NCC Boss) (2) Sen. Ben Ndi-Obi (former AC VP candidate) (3) Prince Chukwuemeka Chikelu (former Information Minister) (4) Dr. Chris Ngige (5) Pete Edochie, Bob Manuel Udokwu, Tony one week etc (6) Iyom Josephine Anenih (Current Women Affairs Minister) (7) Osita Chidoka (Chief Corps Marshal FRSC) ( Olisa Agbakoba SAN (human right activist & maritime guru)(9) Eric Okoye (JUHEL) |
Why are they avoiding to call the name of the state where the incident happened. Tafawa Balewa is in Bauchi State but they tactically avoided mentioning Bauchi. Bauchi State is in North East, but they said the event happened in the Central Nigeria. The above might not seem necessary but the reporter may have a sinister motive behind not giving the accurate report as to the location of the incident. |
Politicians can go to any length to get what they want. I know somebody from GEJ camp is masterminding this, lol though! |
The Law is simple on that, you cannot build something on nothing! It is a ground for divorce (quitting the marriage), once a marriage is built on deceit & fraud, it means that the marriage has irretrievably broken down. And I believe the church's doctrine will go the same direction. I think its just like somebody being an AS, while you are AS too, BUT THE PERSON LIED TO YOU THAT SHE IS AA, such marriage too is built on deceit. |
Please the Minister should be pardoned for falling our hand, after all he was a junior minister before & auntie Dora is no more there and the guy is hustling to be recognized by GEJ. |
Dim Ikemba, may Almighty God see you through during this period! Wish you the best. |
Useless law makers, probably they are equally looking for automatic return ticket from Ikedi Ohakim. Sometimes I begin to wonder about this country, once anybody is in power and you have an intention to contest, immediately the person becomes the best Nigeria needs, case in point: Abacha's era. |
Abeg enough of all these insults, he has never done anything wrong exercising his right as a citizen of Nigeria by contesting for the office of the Presidency. Cross carpeting from a political party to another is never a crime especially his own reason which was in the glaring eyes of all us. All of us know that Obj frustrated all that were not reasoning with him as a dictator thus they all left PDP for him and they came back when normalcy returned. Is it Atiku that should be blamed or OBJ. Prominent people like Audu Ogbeh, Atiku, even the current PDP chairman (Nwodo), Don Etieberth, Orji Kalu, Ngige etc, all decamped, other prominent sons who do not fancy Obj & Ahmadu Alli's dictatorial tendencies but felt they do not have interest in any political position but believes that one day, they will leave the position, decided to stay back but were just there, people like Solomon Lar, IBB, Dr Alex Ekwueme etc. If you think Atiku is not powerful and will not win election in his ward, ask GEJ not to interfere by using his power of incumbency, you will be amazed how Atiku will overwhelmingly become PDP flag bearer and will as well win Nigeria's presidential election. |
@LASTPAGE, nice one! But that is if only people of this our generation will hear and understand that hatred will not take us anywhere instead it will rather breed more hatred and other atrocities and even to generations unborn. I remember my experience in my former office, we were working like one family except some little tribal hitches usually anchored by my boss 9my reporting line) (Yoruba man) then, though we neglected it and all of us as the subordinates were working friends. One day, my boss started all those his stories about Igbos are this and that in the office, a corporate setting for that matter, on that day, I summoned courage & jokingly asked him, Sir what did this Igbo do to you that you always talk about them in bad limelight, my boss did not say anything (especially as I know he has told us he has not had d opportunity of visiting the East and that he is longing to do that, more or less he has no tangible thing to say Igbos did to him that brought about every minute Igbo Igbo discussion in the office) But do you know I was surprise that one of my colleagues and a good friend stood in defence of my boss and said yes, that Igbos are too domineering and that anywhere they are, they like being incharge. Infact that their father while growing up advised them to beware and abhor Igbos. He went further to say that the hatred has even reduced that during their fathers time, it was much hot then. He gave one of the instances that their father cited to them, on how Igbos came and dominated in Ibadan such that at a time, Landlords in Ibadan then preferred renting their house to Igbos because then, majority of the Yorubas were in civil service and they usually owe landlords their house rent whereas Igbos who are usually into trading find it easy to pay their rent. In fact he said it went to the extent of some Landlords were putting a notice infront of their compound with inscription"This House is Not For Civil Servants" We all laughed at the statement, but deep inside my mind, I felt bad this is because, I was feeling in my mind, are these the kind of people I am working with. While at work, what their parents told them about a particular tribe is hovering over their mind even when you thought you are all friends. Anyway, the rest of other things are now history though we are all friends and former colleagues. I still believe it lies on our hand to change the attitude and champion a better course devoid of hatred, jealousy and acrimony. My academic and work career has actually taken me around especially the major tribes and I know I have friends all over. Infact, while in that office, we were two in our flat myself an Igbo guy and a Christian and my colleague a Yoruba and a Muslim, living together. The sooner the attitude is changed the better. |
@Lekanbar, going by your question, It was still in this forum that we argued when Obasanjo said they offered Dr. Alex Ekwueme the position of Senate Presidency in 1999 or 2003 but Ekwueme declined the offer as he rather opted to be an elder statesman, but people some morons here were criticizing Ekwueme for declining the offer and that today he is no where. So my answer to your question is that once somebody believes he/she is capable of doing something and the environment permits that without infringing on another's right, then carry on. So Dora is good to go. Age is on her side, no skeleton in his cupboard and she has no baby at home to breast feed, so what makes you think she has go and rest? |
No, Nigeria is not a failed state!!! |
If I may ask, who is Goliath? |
@ Sir T, so u have not heard about the automatic return ticket thing for all Senators/House members rocking the National Assembly? |
Thank God, Dora has excellent records both locally and internationally. I was expecting some of these charlatans criticizing Dora to tell me she is guilty of the following which may deter her from contesting; (a) That she has embezzled/misappropriated public funds or (b) That she has collected bribe or any gratification in carrying out her duties or (c) That she has laundered money both locally or internationally or (d) That she is being investigated by one commission or body on grounds of corruption charges or (e) That has been sleeping with other men like of some other female politicians have been accused of in one way or the other in the past or (f) That she has impersonated or has forged her certificates or (g) That she is lazy and incompetent or name whatever you thing that can deter a candidate from participating in elections in Nigeria. I still beat my chest to tell you that so far Dora is a candidate to be relied upon, because despite detractors, NOBODY CAN COME TO SAY DORA HAS ANY SKELETON IN HER CUPBOARD OR ANY CORRUPTION ALLEGATION/INVESTIGATION/CHARGES AGAINST HER DESPITE SEVERAL POSITIONS SHE HAS HELP IN THE MIDST OF CANNIBALS. SO LETS JOIN HANDS AND SUPPORT DORA TO ACTUALIZE THIS DREAM IN ANAMBRA STATE AND NIGERIA AT LARGE, THOUGH I STILL SUPPORT CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISMS IN ORDER TO ALWAYS PUT HER ON THE TRACK SO THAT SHE WILL NOT DERAIL! |
dora, i wish you the best in your future endeavors!!! |
Abeg Kobojunkie, go and sleep. to our constituency, DORA IS THE BEST AND WE WANT HER AS A SENATOR. period!!!! |
Each time Dora's name is mentioned, some charlatans will just rise up to start casting aspersion on a woman who is widely and internationally recognized and appreciated. Some of you should note what information Ministry is all about and why Dora was posted to head the Ministry. Information Ministry is not Ministry of Works and Transport or Power & Steel, Housing or even Health where you can quantify the activities of the Ministry. Unlike Works Ministry where you can say Roads where constructed across the federation and people will see it, however information Ministry is only but an IMAGE MAKER OF THE COUNTRY, thus that was why Dora was assigned to the Ministry. Being a respectable figure across the globe, Yaradua's government saw it as an opportunity to bring the image of Nigeria in limelight and to see how our battered image can re-branded before the international community. Dora as an information Minister has been doing her best in redeeming our battered image especially through her re-branding campaign but some of you have been seeing it as a failed project which in the real sense, it is not. If you really have hope in Nigeria, you will know it is not a failed project, things like that take a longer time especially considering the period corruption has eaten deep into our system. As side, recently her instruction that all telecommunications outfit in Nigeria must register their various customers SIM CARDS, saw the creation of EMPLOYMENT TO THOUSANDS OF YOUTH TODAY, who ordinarily would have roaming around the street looking for Jobs but today some of them go home with like over 100k and below because they are SIM REGISTRATION OFFICERS in ETISALAT, GLO, MTN, AIRTEL, etc. Can't she be given kudos to that? I remember when she started it, a lot of people were saying it is not possible to register sims but due to her copious experience and belief that it must work and it is working today, giving people jobs. What about the improvement in our national station, NTA and her insistence that all states of the federation must have at least one (1) NTA station and it has all been commissioned, even some states now have more than one. She equally ensured improvement in their service delivery. To me, If she wants to go for Senate, it is a good one and we are supporting that idea. We know she will always represent us well and God will always see her through. She is a star and you cannot remove it from her especially as she has vowed to keep her hands clean without tainting it like an average Nigerian politician. We say we want to kick corruption out in Nigeria yet when people like Dora come out, we still be antagonizing. I am not saying criticisms are not good but it has to bee constructive and not empty criticisms like the way some people do here eg. she quarreled with her brother in-law, that her two daughters married outside Nigeria, how does that affect you? |
As far as I am concerned, Jonathan should leave that place and ensure that this zoning thing is made stronger (eg by enshrining it into our constitution) so that these northerners will not deviate when they take over. The fact is simple, some Jonathan apologies are now comparing Jonathan & IBB and equally calling Atiku all sorts of names but I still believe that Jonathan is still the cause of all these problems, this is because more credible people from the Northern extraction would have declared interest if Jonathan were not contesting. He would have used this his power of incumbency to support a credible candidate of his choice from the North & he (Jonathan) will silence IBB the way OBJ did then & whoever that will contest knows that it is for four(4) years whilst power rotates back to the South. But these heavy men IBB, Atiku, Gusau came out because they believe they have the muscles to fight it out with Jonathan financially, physically & otherwise. Our democracy is still fragile & Nigeria has a lot of diversified interest groups & to cure the mischief, zoning is one of the antidotes that can temporarily cure the mischief! Lets see how it goes, anyway! |
Rest in peace, madam! May God give the Oshimoles' and the entire people of Edo state the fortitude to bear the loss. |
I am interested in what Sanusi's response will be to those mafians in the National Assembly, they see themselves as demi god in Nigeria. May be because of their role in making Jonathan an Acting President then, they now see themselves as super men!!! Lets see how today's session goes. |
