Christianity Etc › Re: It's Better To Be An Atheist Than A Nigerian Christian Or Muslim - Man Says by mmsen:
jesusjnr:
Of course there's the abuse and misapplication of religion, in the sense of belief in God, but there are also instance where it is applied correctly, and one is the world super power, and it's not China or Japan, but the USA.

There are others but just I just want that instance to supercede any other example that is brought forward to suggest otherwise, for America is distinguished from the rest nations, because of the foundation of true religion.

So that should shut that argument down once and for all except one has a better nation than that whose allegiance says "one nation under God" and in the currencies is conspicuously inscribed "In God We Trust".
It's not abuse or misapplication. The Quran says that unbelievers should be killed. The Bible says that disobedient children should be executed.

Both texts are rooted in outmoded, foolish thinking. They have no place in 21st century life.

As for your using America as an example - America's twin pillars are genocide and slave labor, not 'true religion'.

Very good. A lot of people don't know the dangers of having overly religious medical professionals taking of patients. I remember a Sunday school teacher who happened to be a doctor he said the following during a Sunday school gathering: "how can people be so relaxed and lackadaisical about demon possession? How can they cover it and reduce it to mere physical condition, give it a name and call it mental illness. How can they call demon possession and oppression 'bipolar disorder' and 'sleep paralysis'?"

I kid you not. This was a Sunday school teacher in RCCG. Sacking that nurse is a good thing. How ironic can things get? The very same nation that brought christianity to us sacked this woman.
Religion is a tool of control. They used their zealots and socially downtrodden to spread their message of evil to soften the heads of Africans and make it easier to pilfer.

What is her crime again?...this cannot happen in Nigeria.
Almost every hospital in Nigeria conduct morning devotion at least once every week...praying, praising, dancing and singing to God.
People should keep their religious delusions to themselves.

Of course they have their mules but are the kingpins of the trade. I know one who was a mule, gets $6,000 per successful delivery before he was arrested and jailed in Thailand and after serving he was deported to Nigeria. He went to Abuja and got immigration to issue a new passport with a different name. He is here in Nairobi, working on his visa back to Thailand to continue with trafficking as he says he needs to complete the 3 storey building he has going on in Aba.
Would they have gotten into the risky business of drug smuggling if they were not driven then by a lack of financial options?

They are folks who drug trafficking has seeped into their blood stream, not about the economy. Why is that those who have hundreds of millions in their bank accounts, proceeds from drug trafficking still continue with the trade?
Those are not the people carrying the drugs.

The people used to transport the drugs, the people used to assume the risk do so out of desperation.
Politics › Re: "I’ll Step Up Action Against Drug Traffickers" – President Buhari by mmsen: 7:28am On May 22, 2019

We need more of this Multi National firms in every sector of our economy. Not all this Chinese, Indian, Lebanese nonsense exploiting us forming foreign investor.
I wonder why Nigerians use the services of those Lebanese and Indians (especially). Their quality is usually appalling and you can often find another company that is cheaper and better quality. Even in retail I've found that to be the case.

EFCC post these images as if they matter, all they are doing is prejudicing an already foolish society into further hatred of its young men when it is the elders who are the real pariahs.

That's why I get annoyed with the daily stories of EFCC arresting another 19 year-old who defrauded some foreigner of a few thousand dollars.

There are crooks in Abuja and the various state capitals defrauding the country of millions of dollars, go after them. Ensure that they are prosecuted and held to account.
