vantage001: There are two sides to every story. The palestinains blatantly launch missiles to schools and hospitals. Biafrans have not done anything violent and yet people like you jubilate when Nigerian military waste innocent biafran lives. People like me? Have you seen me celebrate when Biafrans have been killed? Why do you people forever hide behind stupid assumptions? Why do you link Biafra with Israel? Where is the connection? Israel is a criminal enterprise, Biafra is not. There is no comparison, don't demean your struggle by associating with bigoted European Jews engaged in a land grabbing exercise. |

vantage001: Isreal is the greatest nation in the middle-east. FAR FAR greater than saudi-arabia. There is no reason why a nation that likes itself will not want to ally with Isreal and get the best available- from agriculture, to tech to education. The only reason is religion. And the truth of it all is that a significant portion of Nigerians are not all loyal to the islamo-enabled judeo-phobia.. So why is Buhari and his spineless VP boycotting and speaking for the rest of us? I don't care for Saudi Arabia but I'm not about to start cheer leading for Israel, especially when they are doing to others what they claim was so wrong for them in the past. They are killing Palestinians whose only crime is to defend the small area that they have been allowed to keep hold of. It's not Judeo-phobia, nor am I in any way inclined to Islam but wrong is wrong, genocide is genocide and that is what Israel is culpable of. They themselves have recently admitted that they lied about the Palestinian threat to appropriate more Palestinian land. The fact that you are arguing in their favor is a sign of how dangerous religious mythology can be. These are Europeans expropriating Arab land. Let them return to Europe and fight for land there. |

Ewedegubbler: How many times have you called out the Nigerian government or for the atrocities committed against its citizen though the years. I see hypocrisy runs deep in your blood. Often. When Abacha murdered Saro-Wiwa I called him to be wrong. When Obasanjo was playing from the same script I said likewise. When Buhari has turned a blind eye I have said the same. But Israel is slaughtering people on their own land and then allowing Jews to settle on land that has been stolen from people who were there before. Israel makes life exceedingly difficult for Palestinians. It isn't 'hypocrisy', what Israel does is consistently criminal. |

alBHAGDADI: Buhari and his Islamic cabal must have intentionally boycotted the meeting because they knew Benjamin Netanyahu was coming to warn them concerning the shady admittance of Morocco into ECOWAS. If there's no Arab and Islamic agenda, why would Nigeria allow Morocco, a North African country into a west Africa organisation called ECOWAS?
Not only Buhari and Osinbajo, the king of Morocco also boycotted the meeting. That says a lot. Soon, we'll start seeing Arabs moving into our region and terrorising us like Europe is facing. We already have pseudo-Arabs terrorizing Nigeria. They're called Fulanis and Kanuris. And it's not their ethnic background that has made them such a menace but rather the culture and religion. |

You cannot assume that everyone who is not a Muslim is a Christian. It's an annoying assumption that contradicts your first statement about Nigeria being secular.
And you cannot assume that just because someone is a Christian that they love Israel. Israel has been guilty of appalling atrocities and should be called out. |

elmagnifo: Nice logo they have up there(the star). But Nigeria politicians are only after their pockets and that of their immediate family members.
They lack initiative, good ideas to move the country forward. Every one of them is interested in what he can reap from the country and not what the masses will enjoy from him. And the funny thing is, Nigeria politicians have mastered the act of using the youths to defend them and sing their praises.
Nairaland is actually a case-study. Everyday we see youths who are supposed to unite and take back their country from these looters engaged in one tribal/religion/regional slur. And at the end of all the insults they throw at one another, they still go to bed hungry. They don't have clear philosophies because all they know is the religious nonsense that they've had drummed into them from birth. |

kilokeys: At best, the international community can only advice any govt. It is criminal in our laws. And so also is kidnapping. So both parties, the kidnapped and the kidnappers should face the law Kidnapping is illegal for good reason and should be addressed. But just because something is illegal does not make it moral - you can purchase a 12 year old in parts of Nigeria and marry her. That is immoral but people tolerate that. Why are we not attacking that problem instead of the much smaller issue of homosexuality? |

kilokeys: Personally.. I am against the LGBTs, but I wouldn't raise a finger against them.. In Maslow's hierarchical Law.. Food shelter and clothing comes first become the need for love and belongingness..
When Americans where in our developmental phase and had serious issues to contend with.. They didn't tolerate the gays either. They criminalized homosexuals because of the puritanical/hypocritical prism that they were forced to live under and because of that it became reasonable to demonize homosexuals instead of focusing on real evils such as slavery; the mistreatment of children and women; or the robber barons who constantly held the country to ransom. Just because they made mistakes in the past does not mean that we should repeat them. We know that homosexuals are not evil or evil-doers. They are not causing harm to anyone. Let us focus are our ire on those that do and stop wasting our time thinking about them. |

kilokeys: Let's grow at our pace.. Let's have electricity first, let's have industries, let the economy boom.. After all these we might listen to the LGBTQs. The economy will grow quicker when human decency and human dignity are taken into account. When that happens some of the moronic things that take place in Nigeria, that are considered the norm here, will quickly subside because they will become prioritized. Part of respecting human decency would include leaving people alone who engage in consensual relationships with other adults. The LGBT hatred in Nigeria is classic distraction witch hunting. When you have useless people in positions of authority (from within the home all the way through to education and politics) then witch hunting becomes a useful distractive exercise. We should take away the distraction of LGBT hatred and force those who assume positions of responsibility to act responsibly. |

Kennydoc: You cannot swear with your life that there is no God. You say He doesn't exist simply because you have neither seen Him, felt Him nor heard from Him. People have experienced Him for real.
At the peak of Ebola virus, many people were afraid. 99.99% of the world had not seen the virus, but they believed its existence. People believe HIV exists yet haven't seen it. Some have doubted its existence, didn't play safe and died of AIDS. Some have also doubted and done several rough plays but they are still alive and healthy. Their belief or unbelief hasn't changed anything about the virus.
Whether you believe or not, miracles still happen at the mention of the name of Jesus. Chains are still broken and people are still set free in His name. I guess you don't also believe the devil exists. Don't worry, he will come for you in due time, and unfortunately, you have no divine covering. That is a lie. No miracles are happening because of the name of Jesus. What chains are broken? Where is your proof of the devil? Where did you hear about such? |

ivolt: I know you didn't mention gay, I replied based on the context. Society don't change overnight and big changes are the most difficult to achieve. By lumping all issues social together under the "logical thought movement" we end up driving people back to their shell because the real message ends up being diluted. The real message is to be reasonable and rational instead of allowing yourself to be misrepresented and poorly advised by so-called leaders, especially the religious leaders. |

Pedophilia deprives a child of their innocence and takes advantage of the ignorance of a minor. Corruption causes vital resources to be wasted on the personal desires of an individual and impedes development. Who/what is deprived by homosexuality? |

If Nigerians used all that energy that is wasted on religion to build a functioning, prosperous nation then we would see it manifest. |
