escodotman:Why is it 'immoral'? Who is being wronged? |
kings09:How does homosexuality bedevil Nigeria? Surely the inadequate infrastructure is the real demon here and not the sexual proclivities of adults? And if we really want to go into the issue of sexual activity why do we not deal with the idiots who are having relations, having children that they cannot take care of a result and thus adding to the problem of a large, poorly educated, idle population? |
KingGBsky:You have just drawn up a list of decent human beings. Thank you for including my username. My question to you is why this issue angers you as much as it does? Were you touched as a child? Do you need counselling? |
stanisbaratheon:You criminalize that which is injurious or immoral. Two adults having consensual relations is not immoral. At least 12 states in Nigeria are okay with men purchasing and raping children. Let's deal with that first before we start regulating interactions between mature people. |
stanisbaratheon:Because we have gay people in Nigeria and we do not benefit from forcing people to pretend to be something which they are not. That's how you end up with all these angry, frustrated women married to men that don't desire them. You cannot threaten everyone into submission, especially when dealing with issues that are innate. How has criminalizing homosexuality helped Nigeria/Nigerians? |
EvilMetahuman:Seun probably talks more about xtianity than Islam because it is the creed that he is most familiar with. Besides, there are a lot of people challenging Islam, especially now, because of the actions of so-called extremists. Even xtians are pointing fingers at the Muslims, not realizing that it is the same underdeveloped manner of thinking that has allowed both to thrive. Both are symptoms of fear and ignorance and both should be moved to the margins of society, if not outright eradicated. Having said that, I do understand your point about the need to be tactful but sometimes you need to be brave and confront those who relish their stupidity. Shock therapy can/does work. At the very least it will embolden other like-minded people to also confront the people around them who use the social norms of that society to browbeat you into silence, even when you know they are illogical and wrong. |
kings09:No, the nonsense that underpins the fear of homosexuality is a sign of social backwardness. All the religious mythology - the devil, god, spirits and other immature nonsense is what needs to be done away with. Of all the things to get upset over in Nigeria - why is this the big issue? Why are they not kidnapping politicians, religious leaders, traditional leaders? They are the ones stifling progress, using public funds to live lavishly instead of using the money for public works and services. |
soberdrunk:He's a brave man and should be commended for challenging the childish stereotypes and myths that many Nigerians hold onto and I say this as someone who really doesn't concern themselves with gay issues at all. Nigerians can't keep crying about the slow pace of social and economic progress whilst trying to hold steadfast to views and ideas that have no merit and clearly do not benefit the population. |
Kennydoc:Children/people need food to survive. The medicine can be justified by way of reason, logic and science. No one needs religion. It is senseless dogma kept alive by foolish cretins who live in constant fear. |
chuks34:That happens in churches too. You think those pastors are 'working' long hours in their church offices with their secretaries? What kind of 'work' do you think is engrossing them? It's all a sham. |
Church and ashewo business are the same, I would expect them to be housed in the same place. |
Afonjashapmouth:Religion is forced down the throat of every child in a religious home. One of the worst forms of child abuse. |
Why is always someone 'collapsing' or 'slumping', why can't you say that they died and leave it at that until you actually know the cause? |
imitateMe:Why? It is their bodies - so long as they are responsible, aren't misbehaving in the street and are not spreading venereal diseases then they should be left alone. |
blacknp:Reps summon Adeosun, AGF over N17 billion ‘office equipment’ contract The House of Representatives Committee on Public Procurement on Thursday, summoned the Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, over alleged payment of N17 billion for procurement of office equipment. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/232809-reps-summon-adeosun-agf-over-n17-billion-office-equipment-contract.html |
Keneking:You mean like the 17 billion that Adeosun wants to spend on stationery? |
Chikelue2000:You were scammed into believing that Buhari and co. are here to stop corruption when the reality is that Buhari is in power to ensure that the same crooked elite that retarded Nigeria's development during the military era and the Obasanjo years don't lose their grip on the nation. |
gen2lpat:Evidently god does not punish these people which is why they keep doing it. If not for the intervention of the Chinese Communist party China would have 3 billion people as opposed to 1.5 billion, with most of them consigned to a life of poverty. We cannot leave such issues in the hands of made up deities. I agree that we have to start holding women to account for much of this, it is their bodies that we are speaking of in all of this. We first must educate and then find ways to disincentivize reckless breeding. |
Abudu2000:I wish there was a way to punish the parents without enduring the children to hardship. Sadly, no society appears to have found a way to do so. |
It's to be expected. If you can fall for one scam (Islam) why would you not be susceptible to another (Christianity)? |
Pavore9:It happens all over the world which is why many countries provide free or subsidized family planning and in some extreme cases (Sweden and China) they actively sterilize some people so as to avoid the problem of the irresponsible people having more children than they can cater for. Sexual education is key to any lowering of birth rates and it must happen before the individual reaches the age of majority. In the south that would be 18, in the north because of the peculiarities of their culture, it's probably closer to 12... Anyway, if Sanusi wanted to be of real use he could have set a better example by limiting himself to two (children, not wives - in the north it's often the same thing...). As it is people will look at him and ask why he's prescribing medicine that he has rejected for his own body. |
castrokins:Don't worry bros, we have video of the first commissioning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RciW48_wcJM Ayade is a fraudster. I've been saying it quietly since he came into office spewing senseless grammar, now I have proof. Let him finish his super highway and stop talking so much. That's all he's good for, running his mouth. |
smartty68:Ayade is awful and yet people have been praising him. |
Rikidony:I'm glad you've said. Everyone I know has been praising Ayade for running his mouth. The man has done nothing besides open a garment factory. People said Imoke was bad but (which I think is unfair) he was low key. Kept his mouth shut, collected his salary and didn't ruin the foundation laid by his predecessor. Ayade came in talking nonsense about how he was going to allow street hawkers to ply their trade in Calabar and other things that we do not tolerate. |
imstrong1:He commissioned a previously commissioned monorail. What are you talking about? |
wirinet:Are you sure? You have Fulanis/Hausas fighting Yorubas there all the time because of one petty grievance or another. Southern Nigeria could be peaceful. At least when southerners fight they have a clear target. Not the thoughtless indiscriminate violence of the north where every minor grievance ends in mass bloodshed. The northerners think that Islam will save them. Despite there being no evidence to support such a claim. |
jumper524:What 'peace of mind'? You have herdsmen flooding south to kill by the thousands because you don't have enough grazing lands in the north. You have children all over the place begging for basic sustenance. You have Boko Haram killing by the thousands. You have the highest illiteracy rates. Highest malnutrition rates. Highest poverty rates. Highest child mortality rates. Highest rates of fistula and polio. Why do you still have polio in 2017? |
goshen26:Sanusi is part of the problem. He benefits from the system. He wants people to stop doing things that he has failed to do stop doing - polygamy, child marriage etc. |
nerodenero:Because they desire the poverty. The want a large uneducated populace that they can manipulate to carry out their evil when they don't win elections or to coerce people into voting the right way. Also, without the myth of Islam none of their traditional leaders have any legitimacy. They don't offer any services - no physical or material security. They haven't improved quality of life, the only thing they have is their claim to religious authority. |
See how the children look fresh and healthy unlike the almajiri children that look 40 years old at 10. |
Where did she say that she hates white people? |
