They need your vehicle license plate which is linked to an address. There's no reason to chase people when you can clearly identify where they reside as per an electronic database.

When you walk into most government offices in Nigeria they insist on using pen and paper - for wetin? What year is this?

Shouldn't you ensure you have 24 hours of electricity before you go down that path? How do you plan on running a "smart city" when you have several power cuts every day?

Deal with the basics first.

You haven't been paying attention. Boeing planes have had a lot of problems that have cost lives. They have then tried to cover up their incompetence by blaming the pilots.

Airbus have had their issues too.

Nigerians really don't know what is happening in the country, it has to take a German news service to point out flooding and scale of it , while politicians , news media look the other way .
That was my first thought. Why are we having to rely on a German news agency to tell us about our own country?

Flying is also important! MAybe not as critical as the petroleum sector, but it's also very important and serves a vital purpose to the economy.

Developing a country doesnt mean you have to abandon some sectors and focus only on sectors which you think are important. All sectors can and should be carried along.
Abandon? No. But prioritize which seems to be a problem for Nigerians in general. People get the governments they deserve.
Travel › Re: Mixed Reaction Trail FG's Choice Of Ethiopian Airlines As National Carrier by mmsen: 7:21pm On Sep 23, 2022
obailala:
Good thing you're not in leadership then!

Having a national carrier isnt a waste of time; it serves an important purpose and can boost the economy.

Saying it's useless on the premise that it will not be managed properly is just laughable; it's almost like saying Nigerian govt should consider building new refineries because they wouldnt be managed properly when built.

You should rather be clamouring for the management to be strictly concessioned to the private sector for efficient management instead of throwing out the baby with the bath water.
Terrible comparison.

Most Nigerians don't have the means to fly but everyone needs fuel. A refinery would have a wider, stronger effect on the economy than a national carrier.

Just Your Opinion!.... It's probably a waste of time and resources only to those who elevate their hatred against the sitting govt above national interest.

To everyone who understands basic economics, the importance of a robust and functional air transport system cannot be overemphasised. A national carrier will be a blessing to Nigeria if it comes to reality and if it's managed properly.
A functional air transport system is about management of infrastructure, not a national carrier. Nigerian governments have shown an inability to manage an airline or even be silent partners in a national carrier. This is a waste of time and energy for a country with far more rudimentary challenges.

There is nothing wrong with Nigeria having a national airline, absolutely nothing wrong with that!

Not sure I understand the relationship between what you just said and the topic of discussion. Solution to what exactly?

Nigeria plans to bring in Ethiopian Air management to manage the proposed Nigeria Air. You say it isnt the solution, that we should "build infrastructure if we want an airline"?
A national airline carrier is no solution to whatever problems Nigeria has with its aviation industry.
Travel › Re: Mixed Reaction Trail FG's Choice Of Ethiopian Airlines As National Carrier by mmsen: 1:06pm On Sep 23, 2022
obailala:
Anything that would make Nigeria have a functional airline and national carrier is a welcome development; anything that would make NIGERIA AIR (or whatever they choose to call it) work efficiently is very much welcome.

Only people battling with inferiority complex would think it's shameful for the Nigeria to partner with the management of the most successful airline in Africa.
This isn't a solution. If Nigeria wants airlines then build and maintain better infrastructure.
Travel › Re: Mixed Reaction Trail FG's Choice Of Ethiopian Airlines As National Carrier by mmsen: 1:03pm On Sep 23, 2022
Why would anyone invest in this after the Virgin Nigeria mess?

Ethiopian Airlines is a good airline but I'm sure even they will get frustrated with the mess that Nigeria continues to make of aviation.

They placed limits on foreign transactions a long time ago to the point where it was useless for anything of note.

This is what happens when you allow useless people to run your country and economy.

But keep allowing tribalism to guide you. Keep allowing religion to distract you.
