I have recently followed the recent news thread over the past few days reading endless comments of fellow Nigerians celebrating the downfall of ex Governor James Ibori.
To some, it was a sweet joyous moment, to others their reaction might have been "watin concern me" the usual catchphrase we use when shrugging our shoulders.
Fair enough, Ibori admitted that he looted the Delta State treasury, but the key question I often ask myself is, what are the other motives why they (British Authorities) went after him? was ibori the only governor who stole from us, or was he seen as a threat to some Nigerian elites

it is obvious that most Nigerian governors only buy a few houses here in London, and this makes it harder for the authorities to fish them out. Ibori's case was different because he had millions of pounds worth of asset here in London. A city where they can rob you of all your hard work in 1 day,  Ibori hustled his way to the top, so I give him that credit,  I just think he didn't know how to hide his loot, or he had too much on his plate, , however in the eyes of the British authorities, HE WAS A BIG FISH, !!!!

His flamboyant lifestyle attracted alot of fake friends and at the same time alot of haters too. Some of the people who openly benefited from Ibori's loot were the first to throw stones at him.

The most important point we need to take note of is that, British Companies contributed massively to the polution of the niger delta. It’s unfortunate that the PDP govt. has so shot itself in the foot that any positive initiative taken by GEJ is viewed with so much pessimism. Its all a silly plot by the Northern elite to keep Nigeria on its toes so that they can use BokoHaram as a bargaining chip for the presidency come 2015.They know the threat of an Igbo challenge for the presidency is real and of course since this is Africa there is always the temptation that the incumbent could backpedal on his one-term promise and stay longer in power. Their reckoning is that the only reason GEJ got into power was cause of sentiments generated as regards the marginalization of the South South and he was literally served the presidency as a means of appeasing the ND militants, unfortunately I don’t think they took into consideration that with the economic viability of the southern part of Nigeria over the North there might be no Nigeria come 2015! Or maybe they did and reckon our internal rumblings and greed of our elders down south would make seceding impossible. Unfortunately there is a booming internet savvy generation that cares the least about the entity Nigeria and are completely unpredictable.Time will tell.

Nice one, except that Pastor Bakare needs to realize that his SNG group lost the right to be called a Civil rights movement the minute he ran as Buhari's running mate. He is now rightly viewed as the opposition hence his actions have to be suspect and seen as antics of a sore loser. No doubt GEJ owes him for the position he is occupying right now, matter of fact we all owe him, one only wonders what would have been if he had not taken his fight to Abuja and spoken up after a cabal (Naija vocabulary for thieving elders that we know but cant touch) held the country hostage and the then VP comatose. However since he crossed that line into partisan politics it has become imperative to ask ourselves if his actions are totally pro-people or for his personal ambitions. And personally I think listening to him speak last week at Ojota,it was somewhere in-between .Sometimes he sounded like we needed change in the way government was being run and other times he sounded like him and his Moral Ayatollah Presidential candidate was that change .
I am afraid to give the SNG movement part of its lost credibility he needs to step out of the picture a bit and allow 'pure' civil right activists run the show from here on. I completely agree with him however that we must consolidate on the events of last week and keep this government on its toes and make them realize going forward the people are going to demand accountability from the centre and the states.
