Seun, how much did IBB pay you?
I  quite agree, this sudden urge to promote IBB on NL is becoming nauseating and very suspicious.IBB himself is "media-phobic" cos he can’t seem to lay the ghosts of june12 and Dele Giwa to rest, meanwhile folks keep trying to give him a voice here at all cost.
How come he is the only aspirant with 3 stories on the front page, even the No.1 citizen of the country has just two (coincidence? I don't think so).I reckon in this election we all have to take sides at some point and like Oprah Winfrey and Rush Limbaugh did in the last American presidential elections, we can be certain whether our aspirants win or lose ,history will judge us on the roles we played. Shikena!

PoliticsRe: Babangida Is Begining To Make Sense by mohid(m): 9:04am On Aug 19, 2010
I consider it absurd that this sort of topic is even first page stuff on NL and to think it’s even debatable makes it more sickening. I might be inclined to agree with IBB that the youths in Nigeria are not experienced enough to rule, but the replies on this thread do not posit his claims on inexperience but irresponsibility. We are not ready to take the helm of affairs we would rather be more comfortable putting some old corrupt re-cycled, retired general in power and then whine all day on internet blogs about how bad things are. The world is not the same place it was 200yrs ago, that America needed a retired General Washington to guide it on its path to greatness, does not entail that Nigeria needs same. It took America over 180 yrs after independence before launching their first satellite into space, while we are already thinking of launching our third satellite barely 50yrs after. The world is a smaller place and cultures are becoming less divergent, if the U.K a traditionally conservative society can follow the American way and vote in a youthful David Cameron, we do not have to wait a 100yrs after 1960 to follow suit.
Gerontocracy (govt by the old) is fast becoming less fashionable and Africa has got to wake up to that change, else the huge divide between it and the rest of the world will continue to grow.
CelebritiesRe: Maleke, Nigerian Comedian Beaten And Injured by mohid(m): 11:37pm On Aug 09, 2010
i am totally awed by some of these responses.Nothing justifies bodily harm being inflicted on another individual,if d terms of a contract have been violated by one of the parties the law courts exist to arbitrate such matters. But what does a person like Ayiri understand by the rule of law,he got to the level he is breaking the law while doing the dirty work of his "Masters".To think that's a potential federal Legislator is scary, how on earth is such an individual going to deliberate on the floor of the house, the dude is barely educated.Maleke probably has a lesson or two to learn from Tuface on how to manage the likes of Ayiri if u insist on accessing their ill-gotten wealth.Tuface gave him a lot of props on his last album cover and i learnt d dude gave him a Range Rover for his trouble.

@Ohsisiu ve nailed it.Thats the summary of this plot, the replies on this thread makes me so proud to be a young Nigerian in this generation. We are no longer the gullible and susceptible people our folks used to be. Who doesn't realise that Dora's only crime is that she has not "empowered" her kindred. Who can forget in a hurry her In-law that she went after when she was still at the helm of Nafdac cos he was into fake drugs.Engr this is Africa we all have families, and family squabbles is what we do and we all have ways of addressing them. But to write open letters like this smells of good old fashioned dirty politics. If Aunty Dora has offended you we would require facts and pics to win some heartfelt sympathy here. Good work ppl for showing that social media would not be used as a tool for blackmail in Naija. We ll get there.

Shocked no one has mentioned the Polo range by Ralph Lauren especially POLO BLUE,the effect is amazing.
BLACK by Kenneth Cole is subtle and mild just what a gentleman's cologne should smell like,

Enough already all this talk about where to get an original bottle of perfume in Nigeria, folks saying that just like talkin. i have gotten original bottles of perfume at random off shelves in stores and supermarkets in Benin, not necessarily lagos,P.H or even  ABJ.for cryin out loud there is an estate in Ajah(Abraham Adesanya) where most of your regular neighbourhood supermarkets have original perfumes.
easy on the naija bashing.
NYSCRe: The Minimum Wage Of N17, 000 Is Nonsense by mohid(m): 10:29pm On Jul 13, 2010
Middleman:
@ poster :  52,000 a month as minimum wage  shocked pls lets all be realistic. that will create massive inflation, drivers, security guards at homes would all require to be paid 52k a month are u kidding me?

and also the poorest of the poorest can't live on 1k a day is pure rubbish i can live on half of that n am nt poor.

17,000 is a good enough improvement atleast for now. we cant just jump to 52k in 1 day, they are other issues that needs to be addressed. constant electricity for instance will help in making life easier for a lot of people.
It seems the norm on this forum is folks tend to get more popular when they condemn government than when they sound pro-government. An almost 100% increase in wages is greeted with so much apathy you just wonder. Let’s  ask ourselves, in Nigeria  how much revenue does the F.G actually generate monthly from  its parastatals that incur these huge wage bills .If we also take into consideration the recent dwindling prices of crude and stunted growth of non-oil revenue add that to the prevailing world economic situation we would  appreciate what government has done. On  the argument that the amount is not a living wage there are actually  a lot of factors at play, a federal worker earning 17k a month in Yola,Owerri  or Ilorin will definitely be more comfortable  than one in Lagos or the FCT but then am certain the civil servant in Lagos will fight tooth and nail not to be transferred to Yola because of the "runs" available in Lag and the business opportunities at his disposal, same way corp members press all the buttons they can to serve in Lagos,P.H or FCT even though they know they would still be paid the same meagre  NYSC allowance in these expensive cities. Bottom-line when govt does something commendable we should say so!
PoliticsRe: 2011: Ribadu Declines To Contest For Presidency by mohid(m): 8:40pm On Jul 11, 2010
Please let’s stop all the talk about the northerners supporting this candidate and not supporting the other. The truth is Nigeria is being run like a public limited company with its shareholders navigating whatsoever direction they want. This group of shareholders cut across all sections of the country not just the north, believe me any presidency that threatens their positions on the "board"  would be  fought tooth and nail  irrespective of if he is from the North or not. A Nuhu ribadu presidency that enthusiastically re-visits the Dele Giwa saga or the Halliburton episode could threaten an IBB or Atiku and they would rather prefer a Jonathan that would keep shut cos opening any can of worms could hurt his Godfather OBJ. They have a way of reaching suitable compromises that maintains their grip and control on us. The only way to ensure our votes count is forgetting the demons of June12 and all coming out en masse to vote as we did on that faithful Saturday in 93,when Xtians voted massively for a Muslim/Muslim ticket and Northerners voted massively for a Yoruba man running against a Hausa man.
It’s doable we just have to start believing it and telling everyone around us about it, it’s up to us, our future and our children's future demands it.
PoliticsRe: Pastor Okotie Blasts Jonathan Over Soccer Ban Reversal by mohid(m): 9:36pm On Jul 08, 2010
Funny how people where howling and saying it wasn’t a wise decision banning them and then turning around to say the president was inconsistent to have changed his mind. I believe the same ppl would have accused him of lack of empathy towards his followers if the deadline had expired. I think we probably have never had a listening president so all this is a bit strange to us.(i actually know someone that kept on sending posts and appealing on GJ's facebook page prior to the reversal ).Leaders have the right to make decisions and change their minds if they feel it’s not in the interest of the ppl they are serving. Step back several months to America and remember all that Barack Obama said, ending the war in Iraq and the first set of troops coming home in six months or about shutting down Guantanamo Bay by December of 09,his not bringing these to pass do not in any way make him an indecisive leader.

curious on how this thread got this so much input in less than 2 days,it means, either a valid point has been raised or at least its an issue.
truth be told ,traffic of nigerians from the u.k back home has increased over the past few years from what it was. That does not necessarily mean things are getting better here but rather getting worse there.
PoliticsRe: IBB's Acheivements? by mohid(m): 10:54pm On May 18, 2010
Great he built 3rd mainland we should give the man a cigar!
oops didn’t he legalize corruption ,not to mention allegations of drug trafficking with (what's her name again),he borrowed massively and threw us into huge debts with the IMF and world bank, but then he built 3rd mainland. There are allegations he killed Dele giwa(don’t know why he was suspected after all no one is suspecting Goodluck for the unresolved murders of journalists that have occurred this yr alone)and an entire generation of army officers on their way to JAJI.If anyone could actually evaluate the costs of IBB,s palatial mansion in Minna vis-a-vis with the cost of building 3rd mainland and also take into cognizance the amount of monies borrowed over his administration ,then u begin to understand how inconsequential building 3rd mainland was. No need to mention the failed S.A.P policies that adjusted the stomach of the masses while a few elite uniformed men and their cronies fed like fat cats. Need i mention the Pius Okigbo report on the gulf war oil windfall, nor one man’s effort at making Nigerian's sceptical of elections, after annulling the fairest election ever to be held in this nation (Nigeria has never recorded that unprecedented no of voters in all subsequent elections ,as most Nigerians lost faith in the electoral process after June 12)
Lets not make the mistake of thinking cos we are used to getting only little from our leaders that "little" is the ideal.

PoliticsRe: In Defence Of Ibori: The Maximum Force Is Uncalled For! by mohid(m): 2:02pm On May 16, 2010
Enough already with this Ibori saga, bottomline his extradition proceedings are starting tomorrow to the U.K, if found guilty on charges of money laundering he would start his jail term after which he would come and face corruption charges here in Nigeria(note that they are different charges in both countries).

Who no like say dem don catch am make e go hug transformer.
PoliticsRe: In Defence Of Ibori: The Maximum Force Is Uncalled For! by mohid(m): 7:47pm On May 15, 2010
To think that most of the folks contributing on this forum are young people supposed to be the future of this country makes it very scary. That Ibori stole massively is not in doubt and that there are lot of "bigger fishes" out there still enjoying their loot is also true. But when did we degrade to the level as a ppl where we feel its Ok if i do it after all everybody else is doing it. The long arm of the law is certain to catch up with everyone guilty but not necessarily at the same time. We just had  a case of a Nazi war criminal jailed at over 90yrs for crimes he committed during WW2,but of course they were persecutions immediately after the war as early as November 1945,that this dude was only taken to court in 2009 did not necessarily mean he had no case to answer. Neither did it mean that Goering, Hess and others that received death sentences as early as 1946 were the only Germans guilty of war crimes. Believe me the IBBs, Anenih and Odilis of this world would have their own date with history, it’s inevitable.Every dog has his day ,but Ibori's day has come and he should be made to face the music  squarely.

P.S
Coup or not IBB should not be allowed to get his reins on power. If as a people we look to a 69 year old recycled leader that has been involved in every coup in this country since 1970 as a messiah ,only shows our level of retrogression as a people. See enough reasons why he shouldn’t at www.againstbabangida.com

dont mean to start any form of controversy but i was on a thread on NL where folks where certain that DA Grin( who probably died from a crash he had drivin under the influence) was in heaven. And imagine the no. of young ppl that actually came out for his procession. Compare that to the response to a dead president then you begin to understand the amount of respect our politicians have lost in the sight of Nigeria’s young ppl.You begin to wonder who advices these politicians and how come they are shielded from the kind of aversion and apathy that the majority feels towards them.
Meanwhile Yaradua's procession anybody?

CelebritiesRe: Pictures Of Olaonipekun Olaitan (dagrin) by mohid(m): 4:06pm On May 02, 2010
This dude was apparently loved by a lot of people and while i do not want to join issues with folks talking about where he is right now, I really believe when someone this young and with a lot of promise dies so suddenly in such circumstances, it should jolt someone's reality.
We are all supposed to look at this and ask ourselves some pertinent questions.
Truth is having six billion ppl on the planet telling u rest in peace at ur demise doesn’t necessarily mean one wud be in heaven.
As much as God is love, He is holy and has set standards, there are certain criteria one must meet to get to heaven and see God irrespective of your impact on earth.
, as for the criteria, everyone that has access to the internet and hence this forum has heard of them before, we hear it every time on our TV, Radio and in the buses on our way to work.
In another one, two or three years all the grieving wud have ended ( the world is already getting over MJ)and folks moved on to their busy lives, but somebody somewhere is going to take some positives from this, redefine their lives and in turn their walk with God.
On the other hand someone else is going to ignore all this, call this and other similar posts dumb and it will count against him in eternity.
QUESTION IS: what are YOU going to do with it?

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal vs Barcelona [2 - 2]on Wed, 31st; 7.45pm by mohid(m): 10:21pm On Mar 21, 2010
i think i prefer drawing barca to either Man Utd ,Bordx or Inter.Truth is arsenal is probably going to fare better playing a less physical side like barca,my worry is if Ibrahimovic does play he has a physical side to his game that Arsenal doesnt like.
On the whole i think the 1st leg at the emirates could decide this one.
If we can get a draw or a win in London i am certain we can deliver at camp nou,ppl fail to realise this team is hungry and young two healthy traits for achieving the impossible, the downside to it is cos they are young i dont think they ve the mental capacity to rise up if they lose at the emirates,of course my fear is with gallas out i dont think Sol is fast enough to stand a messi coming thru the middle.
I think Pep G is smart enuff 2 know that on the flanks both sagna and clichy can hold there own against Messi but i fear if he does come thru the middle he will cut thru us like hot knife on butter, speed is not one of Vermaleen assets and Sol is not the player he used to be.
Of course we cant afford to ve Song playing at Centre back, we need him in midfield cos thats where all the party is goin to be at(With iniesta and xavi).
That said, it feels good to hear all the furore this clash has been generating and i feel mightly proud to be a supporter of one of only two teams noted for good football.
Like henry said only two clubs play beautiful football and thats what w'll be havin for dinner on the nite of March31st, 'c’est magnifique football a la carte'.

CareerRe: Zenith Bank's Employment by mohid(m): 8:13pm On Mar 12, 2010
First of all banking is setup to make u earn ur pay eventually. Truth be told even the highest paying banks do not pay their ETs any more than 230k a month(ETB,PHB and Oceanic of before) but the thing about banking is that as u go higher u earn more and do less, the way it works is eventually u get paid for all the work u are doing now. Its called experience. That’s why you have GM's earning as much as 30million a year for sending and receiving mails all day, you  would probably be shocked that in Zenith, GM's earn much more than  that(Zenith is one of the highest paying among the upper cadre of staff).
That said, if u intend to build a career in banking stay patient, focused and try to get all necessary certifications and degrees so  can climb into that upper cadre faster and earn more while doing less. If u are like the rest of us just passing through, do Ur thing and leave.
