koife: I have this friend of mine with what I'd label an uncomon resemblance with omotola. First time we met,i told her how lucky I considered my self to finally have come face to face with the movie star. Seriously, this lady pulls crowd and eye to herself everywhere she enters....banks....occasion and even church. People troop out to ask her for selfie with obvious believe she is omotola or at least she is related. It makes me ask, did God actually crest people in two's? Isn't that Joan (Unwana)? Sure looks a lot like her.. |

Enoquin: Goathead in akwaibom is from 700 upwards depending on the size and season that's because we don't play with goathead here.
Tomatoes in egusi, I have heard of that way of cooking egusi but I want to know if it is something that evolved into a practice by awon eko.
Funny enough, I am cooking bitterleaf soup today but with goat leg...mine is washed very well. If I cook with out washing vigourously; my brothers won't eat. Your soup looks good, I no see crayfish for your list abi na because of tomatoes you skip am? I know say pepper no dey market but 200 naira pepper is too much. Turns out my Aunt uses tomatoes too and a wee bit of oil or none at all. I guess it's a way of reducing the amount of bad fat associated with red oil (albeit it contains Vitamin A as well). Quite awkward, because using tomatoes to prepare soup tastes really weird. With no crayfish, dry/stock fish and periwinkle, it's certainly not going to be as smashingly palatable as your soup. No disrespect to OP but #TeamAkwaIbom/CalabarSoup #WeRock |

sandee575: Most of the military equipment shown in pictures recently don't belong to the Nigerian Army. You're smart! (In DJ Khaleed's voice) To think most people on here believed all the OP said only shows how ignorant and gullible SOME Nigerians really are... Like seriously? Posting a US Air Force Boeing B-52 Stratofortress (Bomber) and Chinese/Russian Mobile Surface-to-air missile as our equipment? Lol, google B-52 Bomber mate to see it's a USAF hardware and sadly, Uncle Sam wouldn't sell/handout and we simply can't afford such a waste - cost of operation and maintenance alone.na wah. The only piece of hardware in that picture that's currently in our inventory is BTR-80/94 APC. I think you mistook our newly acquired RM-70 MRLS for S2A missiles. I truly wish we owned those equipment to put a complete stop to Boko Haram menace, I sincerely do but, please stop misleading innocent Nigerians who have become very desperate to win this war and wouldn't mind believing almost anything... |

Way to go! With this good news, we can expect more investment in the railway sector, better service delivery and potential jobs for our teeming youth.
I still advocate for turnaround maintenence or complete resuscitation of Ajaokota Steel plant for our steel mills to start churning out composite steel used for manufacturing of various materials and equipment for the railway, defense, power, automotive and other industries as it would be a major boost to our economy. If all else fails and that junk yard still can't roll out steel from its mills to support our manufacturing base, it should be privatised as well. Enough with the p*55y-footing abeg. |

CFCfan: Yeah, I hope one day that Nigeria would start manufacturing her own destroyers and one or two aircraft carriers. The later could be a tall order because they're so expensive to build. A US Nimitz-class aircraft costs close to $1bn. You wish That'd be a very tall dream but nothing is impossible when you set out achievable targets and work assiduously towards meeting them. However, I don't think we need an aircraft carrier to project power in West-Africa as long as our next door neighbours do not pose a considerable amount of threat that could be deemed beyond a DEFCON 3 @tswitch, it seems we now know the fourth item on our list to be commissioned by Mr President today. According to beegeagle's blog, it's the Type 062 Shanghai II patrol craft - probably a gift from the Chinese? See attached pic (more or less a missile defense boat, that's if we decide to arm it) Seun and Mods don't seem to like our Navy very much. Na APC vs PDP news/bashing them want

tswitch: Not from Poland. Korea. That model in the picture you posted on this thread was given to Dame Patience. I think that was around the same period she got her honorary doctorate (Korea too). Vessel must have been commissioned then. On the fourth ship:It wilk still be built by the Chinese, what the FGN is doing by completing works in Nigeria is to build lical capacity-jobs,skills etc and also save up in some FOREX.
Hail NN! Hail Mr. president! Hail Nigeria! I meant the Fishery and Oceanography Research Vessel which we got from Poland. And yes, you're absolutely right about the Submarine model as depicted in the picture - that was in Korea Quite excited about what's to come in the next couple of years... |
