Family / Re: My Mum Bullying My Dad Is Getting Out Of Hand!!! by monfizzy(m): 3:17pm On May 28, 2023
The average Nigerian woman is like this; domineering, controlling and bullies. I often laugh when Nigerian men claim to be the head of their home coz that’s the opposite of what it’s obtainable in their homes.

Check very well you’ll see that most Nigerian men claiming to be head are “ceremonial” heads and are under the mercy of their wives. Many have to resort to alcohol and returning late from work as an escape way from the harassment.

Most men claiming head can’t even invite their family members to live with them but their wife’s relatives are always visiting. This is worse with Imo and Anambra women. Take a closer look at most men married to women from these states and see how weak and docile the women have turned them to.

The nigga is dull. What awaits him in the UK is better imagined than experienced. I pity him because the wife he thinks he has is not a wife but a loose cannon. A woman that has jumped into the arms of another man in less than three weeks of her stay abroad is the person he is calling wife. She is already in love with the other nigga which is why she is looking out for his welfare but the mumu husband is still here talking rubbish.

It’s not 3weeks. She has been talking to him long before she moved to the U.K. and her main reason is likely for kpali. If for kpali the guy will soon dump her after having his fill.

HumbleOptimist:
Good Day Dear Nairaland Family,

My Sister started behaving weirdly last few Weeks. She laughs alone, talks alone and is sometimes restless especially at Night.

Though she always responds well and correctly when engaged. I've asked her and she told me she doesn't know when that happens and it's unintentional.

I, on my part have tried talking to my Dad to take her to a Mental Health Expert, my Dad seems to believe it is spiritual attack instead.
Please, I need Medical practitioners in the house to help tell me what she's probably suffering from so I can Confidently convince my Dad.

Can you please help move this to front page?

How old is she? Is she in her teenage years and less or around 22years old? If yes, it could be signs of early psychosis such as paranoid schizophrenia. She need to see a consultant psychologist who’ll review her and run a mental health assessments on her and the diagnosis will determine if she’ll be placed on antipsychotics or CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) medication to manage her symptoms.

There’s nothing like spiritual attack here. Mental health is an absolute medical condition and only a medical intervention will help.

Pls guyz, I beg you in the name of God, don’t Air me..

I just got an unconditional offer to Manchester Metropolitan University, I would have preferred Glasgow Caledonia but they are yet to offer me admission.

I am thinking of considering this offer, so I can sort all out as soon as possible before January resumption..

I got a 3k scholarship, I was also told to make a 3k deposit.. Please who knows their payment plan? Do they need POF before issuing CAS?

Then I thought admissions should be Conditional before offering unconditional…

Who knows about Jobs in Manchester I am moving with my family. I am the student.

Hi, please what was the original tuition fee before the £3k scholarship?

I spent 6 weeks working in Fort Bragg, NC, USA in 2015, and I came to the same conclusion as you did with Canada. To be honest, anyone who is settled in the UK and working in a professional job doesn't have any reason to relocate to any other developed country. The experience would broadly be the same in most developed countries. I have seen immigrants working at the very top of their careers, but I have also seen immigrants with MSc/PhDs driving taxis to make a living.

Exactly. U.K. that in 6hours you’re in Nigeria, better friendly weather with more Nigerian community and food that anyone settled here will give up for a freezing country. No way. Na those wey no get kpali here dey wan move to Canada.

All I can say to this OP is shut up abeg. All this Nigerians that will immigrate to Canada and think the system owes them something? No, the systems owes you nothing, you work your way up the ladder just like others.

Canada is not good..yet UK folks are hustling to get here..Lmao!

Rantings of a typical lonely boring 9ja girl using YouTube to talk chaff about immigration matters and Canada prospect.

I think most Nigerians living in the U.K. wanting to move to Canada are those who don’t have papers here. As a naturalised U.K. citizen who have visited Canada twice to see my junior bro who lives in Toronto and some friends I don’t see any reason of wanting to move there. Take away the Canadian PR scheme many Nigerians won’t have Canada in their choice migration destination and I stand to be corrected.

when most Nigerians come they declare their previous Nigerian income ( its a requirement to declare previous income) . Which make them qualify for the maximum child benefits around 600 cad a month. As income increases the benefits reduces with time. Someone with over 100k salary will be getting around 250 dols a month as child benefit. While the ones below 32k get the max amount

Ok thanks for the clarity

So Canada isn’t so much better than the U.K. after all. I’ve always known the main advantage Canada has over the U.K. is the Express entry PR route and nothing more unless that I keep hearing that their child benefit is about $500 a month per child. Which I find huge. Can anyone in Canada confirm if child benefits there is that much and is it means tested or doesn’t matter the income of the parents?

Hello,

Are you on a student or skilled worker visa?

How long have you lived in London and where did you get your statistics to quote the bolded?

None. I’m a naturalised U.K. citizen. I’ve been in London for 9years and my assertion isn’t based on statistics but lived experience.

Is it better to live in a big city, get a job with a considerable high pay and spend more on living expenses and accommodation or live in a smaller city, with not so good pay but with cheaper accommodation and living expenses?
I feel at the end of the day, they're same and for someone who wants to really establish in UK, get affordable mortgage and stuff, the latter is a better option but I may be wrong as I'm currently in Lagos lol

You’ll earn more in London and spend more and earn less outer London and spend less as well. However my posture may not be accurate for single persons but for families where the dependant want to work full time while the primary applicant do just 20hours London will be better coz they’ll have more jobs/shifts to support their spouse in London than anywhere else.

But not to discourage anyone, if your uni is outer London then go for it. The U.K. unemployment rate is very low and anyone who want to work will get one, just variety in level of available shifts.

Thank you for this.

However, people say that there are job opportunities everywhere in the UK and that reason is not good enough.

Kindly expatiate on London giving higher chances of a possible switch to Tier 2 Visa.

Thank you

There are jobs opportunity everywhere in the U.K. for sure but more in London. It’s like comparing jobs opportunity in Lagos to other parts of Nigeria.

Tier 2 visa sponsorship are usually sponsored by big companies such as the NHS and you’ll find more NHS Trust or jobs in London than anywhere else in Britain due to the population size of the capital. I work with the NHS and I’ll say in the past year, I’ve come across several Nigerians working with the NHS who recently switched from tier 4 to tier 2 visas.

Definitely one can get a tier 2 sponsorship anywhere in the U.K. but population factor can increase one’s chances.

As a Londoner, I’ve seen a lot of people avoiding London saying its cost of living is very high. This is true but you’re also going to get more job opportunities in London including a possible switch to tier 2 visa than other parts of the U.K.. So my advise is if you can afford any uni in London then go for it.

Shouldn't Nigeria and Africa be immune from such impending food crisis if we know what we are doing?!! With all the land and human resources at our disposal, what is our business with a war in far away Europe?!!

Will UN make this statement or will Ukraine have been bothered if this war was happening in Nigeria or Africa?!!

Does Africa produce anything to compare to other countries? very true.

He said 4k after tax so lets say he pays high tax of 40% since he will be earning over 50k per annum i guess that will come to about £5500 a month which is about £90k a year.

But right now the highest tech salary is within the range of £65k a year.

So this story is lamba.

Highest tech salary £65k? Where did you get this untrue figures from. I’ve tech friends who live here and earning £10k plus a month. I’m not saying this story is true but the inference that highest tech jobs are within £65k range is blatant false.
