GEJ came, declared it illegal with the stupid Governors. They spent all the money and we are here.
The amazing thing is that people still have effontery to shout GEJ till...... Thank God most of them are below 17 and will not be able to vote.
Nigerians and very short memories. GEJ didn't declare that account illegal, infact he had no such powers. There was a time NOI as finance minister was vocal against its spending and depletion, but majority of the Governors wanted it to use in their state especially those in foreign debt. Don't balme the Fed govt alone, blame the governors too,the account was for the federation. |

Infact in adv economies, it would be extremely foolish (not like it cant be done) to buy a tokunbo vehicle from other countries because they manufacture these things there, you have the opportunity of enjoying a fantastic credit facility once you have a verifiable means of id from that country and there are high quality used cars you can purchase at a fantastic price that is below the cost price of a new one...tell me, which does nigeria have? we have an option,no matter how poor, but we have an option. That options are all the assembly plants and the ones that will start coming in after the implementation of this auto policy. We have endured for too long, only enriching others at our expense. Also 70 percent is outrageous. hw much does the government knw dey sell new car? you cant get a new car less than 2.5m. how many people can afford 2.5m for a car when a gud tokunbo can go as low as 1m
Even okonjo, aganga and GEJ do not use these so called locally manufactured cars.
All these people bringing all these harsh polices dey didn't witness during their time, it God dat will judge them. in the state where I am now, vehicles used by police, army, govt workers, sanitation workers, and some courageous individuals are from IVM. Its a gradual process and we jst took a step |

If he cannot make them in Nigeria....the cost of his cars will shoot up (unless he can tell his friend GEJ to waive import duties on raw materials for cars et al...which would be difficult in this oil price reduction era.) not all car components are imported. Some are sourced locally. Ajaokuta is yet to come back alive, but we must start somewhere. |

kennaustine: ^^^ Whats really wrong with y'all APC propagandist? The increase in tariffs for imported automobile is to encourage local automobile manufacturers. Common SS2 Economics student will tell you that one way of encouraging local production is increasing import tariffs. That's called Import Substitution Strategy. Aren't you ashamed that Nigeria has become a dumping ground for every kind of crap produced in other climes? We have Innoson, PAN, ANNAMCO, VON, Nissan and other automobile manufacturers in Nigeria and we know that government is trying to revitalize them so as to boosts our economy. Yet you criticize this one very good move government makes to see to its realization. Many of these imported cars have been used for above five years and then they're moved to Nigeria for dumping, after which when you buy, you'll use for no more than three years and the money u would have spent on repairs and maintenance may have exceeded the original cost. Some brand new Innoson cars go for 1.5m and they're trying to beat it down to 1m. So which is better ; buying a brand new car for 1.5m and enjoying it for 3 to 4 years without excessive repair cost or buying a tokie car for 800thousand and spending over 500thousand on repairs in 3 years. A relation of mine has spent about 300th on repairs on a tokie car he bought for about 800th and the car IS STILL HAVING ISSUES. Wont it have been better to just buy a brand new made-in-Nigeria car and save yourself some unecessary stress. Why are we so used to cheap craps and worthless articles? Is that what APC wants for us? SMH. Which way Nigeria? #SeeBeyondPropaganda don't mind them bro, every body shouting change jst to get into our pants. I wonder the type of change they expect than this. People blinded by sentiment and running the country aground while local manufacturers are pushed out of trade. Are u unemployed and against the auto policy? Maybe u will get bank loan to buy the cars, cos some will still remain unemployed till we have our own auto coys who are viable. Innoson, annamco et al has the potential to be like honda, toyota etc, only if we patronise them. That's the real change. GMB has this in mind but won't tell you,cos he needs ur vote |

SaiBuharii: He increased the price of fuel by an unprecedented margin ever...the pple he represents occupied the street, and they deceived us the money will be used for infracstructural development. After 6 years. Where is the development? Are the hospitals better or the workers are striking continuously? Are the schools better or the lecturers in all institutions are striking? Why has lagos-Ibadan not been completed in 6 years? Why are the rates of trains dt he finally did in lieu of election so expensive? My teacher told me trains are the cheapest source of transportation!
He has increased the price of car importation to 70%. Means if you buy a car of 1m, you pay extra 700,000 thousand. Why? What is the hope for the ordinary Nigerian huzzling to buy a used car. This locally produced cars...are they affordable - No.This also has a multiplying effect on the economy...cos all cars become expensive. The local industry you claim you want to encourage...are they ready to serve us? Why can't you buy the local cars and use them in your fleet of cars. Leadership by example!
Also in his time. because of the govt. cannot manage the economy, he has increased the dollar, and once again broke the record. How did Sanusi control it. What about your guy there. Is he doing the right thing? Dollar increase has led to virtually everything becoming expensive. A poor man cannot shop online again. Our reserves are empty. Where is the money? What has it been used for?
The why's are plenty...but the last is why should I vote for you when all your policies are killing me the ordinary citizen on the street. Don't you think I will commit sucide if you stay till 2019?
As for me and my family. #GMB2015 #CHANGE

Tinubu: Discouraging importation is no doubt, the best way to attain economic development
Less importation= more demand for local commodities = encouraging local enterpreneurship= more employment opportunities.
However,
Inasmuch as supporting local industries is praiseworthy, quality control shouldn't be taken lightly.... The Standard Organization of Nigeria, and other quality standard regulatory agencies should become less of a bureaucratic rubber-stamp, and rise up to their responsibilities of ensuring public safety, and commensurate value for money spent
But, with this Otueke fellow
I just sense that the sole purpose of this increase in duties, is to add more fuel to his looting jamboree..... We are yet to recover from the fuel subsidy removal scam, missing billions, etc, and he deems it fit to still assault the Nigerian public again..... thank God you know the economics involved, but be positive |

Buhari support base in the region is with the poor masses in the region ( talakawwa), such support may be as a result of ethno-religious sentiments but Buhari is a great man.
Buhari can help fight our greatest enemy which os corruption and help put in place institutions of state yes, but you should know that the electorates are of different mentality in the north and the south. If buhari is a southerner, his support base will be less than he currently has now among the northern masses,he has a lot to prove in the south than in the north. The facts still remains that our country has been heated up by provocative comment. By edwin clark to Asari to amaechi. Even the Sheikh that said that its a sin for muslim to vote for a non muslim. These comments shape the mentality of the electorates who will start making trouble when they lose out in the election. The religious cards has been played everywhere,u may dispute the players but it can't be denied. jumbotron: No na, feminism is not in this matter. I thought the exact same thing when I read what you said. I would be very disappointed if my husband put me through such ridicule in the name of helping him get over his ex. Why expose your spouse to that type of mockery. Your spouse should not be in the business of winning you over, that was pre-marriage na. The truth is, if you can not get over your "one true love", biko do not burden an innocent party with such baggage. You will cause your partner to become insecure (does he/she love me like he/she loves her/him?, can I measure up?)...this opens doors to all sorts. It is not easy to wear the cloak of husband/wife! In assuming that position, you are forsaking all others. It is not easy but such is the way of the married folk!
I feel for the OP, it is a very difficult place to find yourself. OP, talk to your husband one more time. He is being very disrespectful to your union. If this lady can not find anyone else to get advice or soothing words from, that is her own problem and not his. He should concentrate on his family. If he is bored, he can try and engage himself in a money making business venture. I apologize if I sound harsh. good, some people may not go with my formula, but it can work for me,if my wife can apply it. Marriage is sweeter when their is sincere communication...that's all I advocated for. |
