Rooney will not be sold to Chelsea unless they are willing to pay seriously over the odds. He can quietly agitate for a move through media leaks, he can actually submit an official transfer request to force a move. In fact, he can even do a Mikel Obi and go on strike while absconding from England and we still won't sell to Chelsea if we don't want to. We have seen this movie with both Heinze and Mikel Obi and they both lost out in the end. United will not sell a player in a manner detrimental to us regardless of said players desire to leave and we are under no pressure financially or otherwise to do so. Chelsea really want Rooney, then Roman better call his banker to raise serious funds or maybe throw in a Mata plus cash offer and we may consider it. Rooney and his agent know this, which is why he isn't openly pushing the issue so he doesn't end up stuck in a quagmire (think what happened to Hargo when he unwisely tried to force a move to United after the 2006 WC). Instead he is trying to drag the issue out so Woodward and Moyes get frustrated and eventually let him go grabbing what they can. Even though SAF and Gill are no longer in charge, I doubt Moyes and Woodward will allow this and surely will be advised otherwise if they even consider it. |
Krasid: Why is cleo and feza now praising melvin all of a sudden.I won't be decieved again.I smell something fishy going on.And somebody should distract melvin before his head burst.Dillish don spoil market for everybody else. lol |
^^ Knew it wouldn't last, the Elampiro we have grown accustomed to has once again appeared. ![]() |
Haba, see panic stations. When even Elampiro is now vexing for Lord Rooney you know it is serious. ![]() Calm down guys. We have been here before. There is nothing I love more than when we are being written off before anything meaningful has occurred. Don't pple learn, never write off United. Let all the shepe boys and others be feeling cool, they will cry last last. Next thing we will be hearing epistles about Howard Webb, Mark Clatenburg, the referees association and FA being in our back pocket. We should take a serious look at Kondogbia, even though he seems more of a destroyer, he is young and has room for growth and molding. Also he has a fairly reasonable release clause, meaning Sevilla can't block a move unlike Modric, Fellaini, Cabaye and some of the other names being mentioned. He could end up like Djembax2, who looked wonderful against United playing for Nantes but subsequently flamed out, but it worth the risk. GGMU |
ozodigboo: @ Sholay2011 - Abeg no comot yet o ! dem go tear u to pieces o ! Don't worry ,na me go tell u the best time to comot, when coast don clear.ROTLMAO. Haba, it is not that bad. ![]() Personally I don't see what she said as a big deal. I guess it would be eye opening and shocking for those who had ordained her Mother Theresa and Melvin The Pope respectively. Only those whose fantasies and idealizations have been shattered would be attack anyone for supporting any hm at this stage. |
^^ can we trust what some posters are saying as their comments are contradicting themselves. |
^^ Well said. Over reaction in the extreme. This was supposed to be a low key and tempo testimonial, 2 days before we go to Wembley. I hardly expected a serious performance what ever the starting line-up, after all there was talk of people like Usain Bolt, Park e.t.c making appearances |
This is why Moyes consistent public statements regarding our interest in Fabregas were unwise. Now the whole thing looks terribly embarrassing. Even SAF was turned down by numerous players he really wanted in the past, but SAF was never providing constant transfer updates, unless he was already pretty certain of the deal being completed. |
We haven't looked convincing this preseason. I wouldn't normally be concerned but the start to our EPL defence is pretty tough. We need to put on a solid showing against Wigan and I expect Moyes to put our strongest possible line-up DDG Rafa--Evans--Vida--Evra ---------Carrick------- -----Tom C------Ando--- ---------Kagawa-------- Welbz-----RVP Lets go with a diamond for now. If Rooney is fit, he can take Danny's place and partner RVP. |
dademola: with our midfield situation ATM, i see phil neville partnering giggs in CMF at some point dis season. Hw on earth did we find ourselves here??When SAF refused to make any central midfield signings since 08, despite the aging of Giggs and Scholes, the loss of Hargo and Fletcher, the lack of improvement in Gibson, Ando e.t.c, the loss of promising youth prospects like Pogba and Morrison. |
I really hope Giggs constant starts are not going to continue when the main action begins. |
Nani injured already a promising half hour. |
Nani putting on a solid display against AIK. Its looking like we are going to need our wing play to bail us out this season. |
Coogar vs Elampiro round 19. wonder if we will ever see a total conclusion to this tussle. |
are we there? |
If cannibal Suarez is priced beginning from £40m, Cavani £55m, Falcao £60m and Bale beyond 9 figures. Chelsea better prepare £70m or not even bother coming back with another offer. |
At this stage the viewer, twitter, facebook, nairaland e-arguments e.t.c, e-fights and jokes are 100x more interesting and enjoyable than the actual show. |
I'm ordering my red fellaini Afro wig and Cesc number 8 man utd home shirt. Who's with me?
Ando already has the no.8 jersey. |
ayox2003: Lol. Even ladies here be defending Messi saying they should leave him alone while they would be the first to castigate an 'unmarried' Iyanya. Messi is having an extra marital affair while Iyanya dumped his girlfriend.Messi is not married. |
We really need to keep Nani, despite Zaha's strong performances on tour. We are probably going to need our wing play this season more than ever with Carrick now 32 and not much chance of improving our central midfield. If Evra is really considering leaving as it seems, rather than chasing an overpriced aged Baines, we should make a move for Coentrao. Madrid are willing to sell and need the funds in their Bale pursuit. Coentrao is not only a better defender, he can play mutiple positions and is younger. |
^^^ ROTFLMAO. |
elampiro: We will take a look at Terry's 50 goal later.Oya now. Open play goals by Terry that were direct/indirect result of set pieces. |
elampiro: @Montelik, Terry scores from open play.fine show me the last time terry scored that wasn't the direct or indirect result of a set piece.. |
Didn't Ferdinand get the winner against Swansea. Terry on gets goal either straight from set pieces or return crosses after initially cleared set pieces. The last time we had a center back getting goals from open play frequently was Laurent Blanc. |
dademola: i'd rada go for a vibrant and energetic playa who can pass d ball, and mk things happen. D scholes/carrick combo in 08 was arguably d best in europe, and i cant identify a "destroyer" amongst d duo. Agreed dt, overall, dt team was solid, bt believe me, dt partnership was key..Well said. All this destroyer talk is exaggerated and unnecesary. We can always convert Jones if we are desperate. What we need is a central midfielder with energy and mobility, not some cement mixer masquearding as central midfielder or a buzz-saw flying into challenges. Solid central midfielders with good energy levels, mobility with and without possession and good use of the football. |
Sealing up buildings for this seems like a disproportionate punishment. |
I recently helped get my nephew a ps3 and the boy has a voracious appetite for games and I considering jb his ps3 to make it less costly. My question is, can one undo jailbreaking and revert your ps3 back to it fresh out of the box condition if you decide to? Kind of like when you restore factory settings on your phone or recover your pc/laptop. |
icebazz: we ha nat interested in him o....cabaye i tinkI personally prefer Cabaye to Fellaini. |
elampiro: 1. I am not running down a goalie, I am only stating my fear about him. We saw against Yokohama a ball directly from a corner beat De Gea, and he failed in same match to calculate another corner when he went out of his line wrongly, then he conceded cheaply. This has been my fear all the while. Did I not say last season that his inability to deal with crosses makes our defenders to over shield him? I have never taken away his potentials and his reflexes. You don't also have to forget in a hurry that Hart was once the best hands in the EPL, yet he came under serious criticism last season.I will not enter subjective arguements about DDG on this forum anymore so say what you like. Regarding what I highlighted. Rooney is judged by a different standard because he of what he demanded to be paid after questioning the ambitions of the club and quality of his teammates in 2010. It is why some of us are harsh on Young. Its not that he is crap, just the wage doesn't correlate with the overall contribution. Rooney insisted on being paid a wage that indicated he was the numero uno and HNIC at O.T. Not only have his performances not risen, he is still getting into trouble, breaking curfew, not in top shape all through the season. When you ask for and get a raise, you should know that your job performance must go up and your next performance review will be tougher, as a reflection of your new salary. Also all young players when initailly signed are placed on modest wages. CR7 wages never went passed 70k until 2006. Giggs didn't a big contract until later. Rooney was already into 120ks by 2007. |
