The fact of the matter is that one person always gives a little more cos we don't all have the same efficiencies. My 60% might be another's 120% and stuff like that. But marriages should be all about give and take. However, since we are in a selfish era now where everyone is looking out for only themselves, it's usually one person giving and another taking unless you're lucky to meet one who's willing to give as much as you're giving.
