These British people must think of themselves as God. Everything about the video is how TB Joshua wanted white people to serve him. I ask, "And so fvcking what?" Don't the Blacks serve the white everywhere in the world? What's the big deal if the reverse was the case? By the way, why didn't they release the documentary when the man was alive?

Throughout the interview, the BBC brought two Nigerians and asked them questions about the the prophet. TB Joshua had tens of thousands of workers. Go and ask them about TB Joshua; they will tell you a different story. Dude was the most generous preacher I have ever seen. He even took his charitable works to Asia and performed miracles around the world.

From Mexico to South Korea, Israel to the UK, hundreds of thousands filled stadia to their capacity to watch Prophet Joshua pray for the sick and they receive their healings - they received healings for medical cases doctors gave up on while others were exorcised. At least I watched those myself on Emmanuel TV. No Nigerian preacher had ever achieved that. This yeye documentary didn't tell us this part.

I will only be worried sick if those TB Joshua prayed for and they received their healing come in their large numbers to say that their healings were reversed after he died. That was the case of Eddy Nawgu, the infamous Anambra ritualist that Bakassi Boys beheaded and necklaced. Until then, this is just one documentary by a pompous, egoistic and narcissistic people who think they are too important to work for Black people but don't mind enslaving the Blacks.
These are disgruntled elements Mrs Joshua eased out after they started looting the church's treasury immediately after the prophet died. I truth Scoan to respond at appropriate time. This demonic BBc that had failed to reveal the sponsors of Boko Haram and Bandits, its a man that died almost 2years ago you are investigating.

Blackmailing Tb Joshua after death is foolishness....you can't drag the church down. Even if he did those, his good works supercedes any negative publication you idiots are pushing out...even some elements are accusing Jesus Christ of bedding Mary Magdalene come be Tb Joshua who is nothing but a man.
Politics › Resign For ‘betraying Nigerians’, Falana Tells Edu by Morbeta11(op): 5:54am On Jan 08, 2024
The senior lawyer said the minister should stop insulting Nigerians, adding that she failed to deny that she gave approval for the funds to be paid to a private account

Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, says the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, should resign for “betraying the confidence reposed in her”.

Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), in a statement on Sunday, urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to speed up the ongoing investigation of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and charged all indicted persons to court.

The senior lawyer described as an “extremely embarrassing drama”, the circumstances surrounding Edu’s alleged involvement in the approval of N585,198,500.00 to be disbursed into a personal account.

In a letter allegedly signed by the minister, Edu allegedly instructed the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF), Oluwatoyin Madein, to transfer the sum to the account of one Oniyelu Bridget as grant for vulnerable groups in four states.

However, Madein explained that although her office received a request from the humanitarian ministry to make certain payments, her office did not act on it.

The minister subsequently said there were plans to tarnish her image, adding that she won’t embezzle government funds.

However, Falana said the minister should stop insulting Nigerians, adding that she failed to deny that she gave approval for the funds to be paid to a private account instead of direct transfer to the beneficiaries’ accounts from the ministry’s.

He said, “It is interesting to note that the minister has not denied that she gave approval for the payment of the over half a billion Naira to a private account in contravention of the extant Public Service Rules as well as the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Offences Act and the Penal Code applicable in the Federal Capital Territory.

“Instead of apologising to the Federal Government and people of Nigeria and calling it quits for betraying the confidence reposed in her, the Minister has arrogantly said that the N585.18 million fraud allegation is a mere fabrication by her detractors and an alleged attempt by mischief makers to undermine her ministry’s effort in fighting corruption and uplifting the needy.

“However, notwithstanding that the Accountant-General of the Federation has successfully frustrated the criminal diversion of the said sum of N585.18 million from public treasury, it is crystal clear from the leaked memorandum of the Minister that the offence of an attempt to commit a felony has already been completed.

“There can be no legal justification for the criminal diversion of the said sum of N585.18 million for disbursement to vulnerable people in Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Lagos and Ogun States since the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs has collated the individual bank accounts of all the vulnerable people.”

Celebrities › 10 Entertainers Who Bagged Degrees From Togo, Benin Republic Varsities by Morbeta11(op): 7:28pm On Jan 06, 2024
Following an exposé by undercover journalist, Umar Audu, revealing his detailed acquisition of a degree from a university in Cotonou, Benin Republic, and subsequent undetected deployment to Cross Rivers State for the NYSC programme, there has been a strong reaction among Nigerians.
The report, which has since gained prominence, led the federal government to promptly suspend the accreditation and evaluation of degree certificates from Benin Republic and Togo.

The government also announced intentions to extend this sanction to countries such as Uganda, Kenya, and Niger Republic.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, Augustina Obilor-Duru said in a statement on Tuesday, January 2, that the report lent credence to suspicions that some Nigerians deploy nefarious means and unconscionable methods to get a degree.

He said: “This report lends credence to suspicions that some Nigerians deploy nefarious means and unconscionable methods to get a Degree with the end objective of getting graduate job opportunities for which they are not qualified.

“The Federal Ministry of Education vehemently decries such acts and with effect from 2nd January 2024 is suspending evaluation and accreditation of degree certificates from Benin and Togo Republics pending the outcome of an investigation that would involve the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria and the two countries, the ministries responsible for Education in the two countries as well the Department of State Security Services (DSS), and the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC).”

Reacting to the decision of the federal government, Zubby Micheal applauded the development while commenting on an Instagram post, saying that many “mugus” have been parading doctorate titles.

On Channels Television’s “Politics Today”, the Education Minister, Tahir Mamman, who appeared as a guest on Wednesday, January 3, vowed to go after citizens utilising fake certificates obtained from foreign countries to secure employment in Nigeria.

Describing such individuals as “criminals” involved in a criminal chain, Mamman insisted they ought to be arrested and not empathised with.

He said: “They are criminals and you know there is no timeframe to criminality. We will trace them. As long as we can lay our hands on their institutions and they are right here with us, certainly, the security agencies will go after them because they are criminals.”

“We are not going to stop at just Benin and Togo. We are going to extend the dragnet to countries like Uganda, Kenya, and even Niger here where such institutions have been set up.

“We will not stop at the suspension of certificates from Togo and Benin Republic alone. We are going to extend the suspension to other countries where such institutions operate.”

The development comes just after many entertainers got awarded degrees, including honourary doctorates from various universities in the Benin Republic.

Politics › Fubara Visits Diri With Rivers Leaders, Agree To Work Together For Common Purpos by Morbeta11(op): 11:12am On Jan 04, 2024
Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, yesterday led some prominent leaders of the state to visit his Bayelsa State counterpart, Senator Douye Diri, where they agreed to work together to settle issues concerning property jointly owned by both states that are pending in the courts.

Fubara said he visited with some prominent leaders of the state to underscore the importance of the unification meeting that should open a new chapter between the two states in renewing their brotherhood and never allow administrative boundary issues to create animosity between them anymore.

“The purpose of my presence today is not a mere visit, but a reunification meeting. Our visit is to let our brother know that we want to work together for a common purpose and the development of both States.
“We have a lot of things in Rivers State that are jointly owned by both states. I know we have not had this kind of meeting before, but we desire that from this particular moment, whatever the issues are, let us look for a way to settle them amicably so that we can forge ahead.”

“I have always said that we cannot attain development in the face of crisis. We cannot help one another in a situation of anarchy. Peace is the major ingredient for development.”
Fubara also commended Senator Diri and the people of Bayelsa State for their show of solidarity with his administration amidst the political crisis that erupted in Rivers State.

He told his Bayelsa counterpart that if he accepts the brotherly handshake extended to him, then he would not sneeze in isolation because they would be stronger together as they forge ahead as one people.
The Rivers State governor acknowledged the fatherly role played by President Bola Tinubu in mediating the Rivers political crisis.

In a statement by the Special Assistant to the governor, Boniface Onyedi, Fubara reiterated his commitment to continue to support the administration of President Tinubu because if there is no peace in Rivers State, the national economy will surely suffer.
In his speech, Bayelsa State governor, Senator Douye Diri thanked his Rivers State counterpart for the visit and his initiative towards a mutually beneficial working arrangement with Bayelsa State.

Senator Diri recalled the ongoing legal issues at the Nigerian Supreme Court over the disputed Soku oil wells and the Bayelsa House that was demolished in Rivers State while pledging willingness to ensure that they work together as brothers.
Earlier, Governor Fubara had also visited the residence of Senator Azuta Mbata, to felicitate with him on his birthday and wished him more glorious years in good health.

Politics › Tinubu Closes Buhari’s Single Treasury Account, Asks Mdas To Remit 100% Revenue by Morbeta11(op): 3:29pm On Jan 03, 2024
Tinubu closes Buhari’s single treasury account, asks MDAs to remit 100% revenue to new account

Agencies not funded by the federal government are also expected to remit 50 per cent of their generated revenues.

President Bola Tinubu’s administration has directed that all ministries, departments, and agencies fully funded by the federal government remit 100 per cent of their revenues into a Sub-Recurrent Account, a sub-component of the Consolidated Revenue Fund (CRF), where the federal government will now receive and consolidate its revenue earnings

This directive, issued in a December 28 circular by the Finance Ministry and publicised on Tuesday, effectively closes the single treasury account operated under the erstwhile Muhammadu Buhari administration.

It is the latest of the federal cabinet’s move to “improve revenue generation, fiscal discipline, accountability and transparency” in resource management and waste prevention under Bola Tinubu’s nascent presidency.

“All Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAS) that are fully funded through the annual federal government budget (receiving personnel, overhead and capital allocation) and on the schedule of Fiscal

Responsibility Act, 2007 and any addition by the Federal Ministry of Finance should remit one hundred per cent of their Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to the Sub-Recurrent Account, which is a Sub-component of the Consolidated Revenue Fund (CRF),” the directive read.

“Agencies and departments that are partly funded by the federal government – having budgetary allocations for capital or overhead expenditures – are expected to remit 50 per cent of their gross revenue while statutory revenue like “tender fees, contractor’s registration, sales of government assets, etc should be remitted one 100 per cent to the sub-recurrent account,” it added.

Agencies not funded by the federal government are also expected to remit 50 per cent of their generated revenues.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation shall open new TSA Sub-Accounts for all Federal Government Agencies/Parastatals listed on the schedule of Fiscal Responsibility Act, 2007 and any additions by the Federal Ministry of Finance, except where expressly exempted.

“The new account opened for Agencies/Parastatal shall be credited with inflows in the old revenue-collecting accounts based on the new policy implementation of 50 per cent auto deduction in line with Finance Act, 2020 and Finance Circular, 2021, 50per cent cost to revenue ratio,” it added.

While the current approach bears resemblance to the previous administration’s strategy, all revenues in the new processes are consolidated into a unified treasury account, and the Office of the Accountant General calculates deductions according to approved percentages. The remaining funds are then entrusted to the remitting agency. This contrasts with the prior administration, where agencies autonomously determined the remittances they provided to the federal government.

“The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (0AGF), subject to the categorisation of agencies, shall map and automatically effect direct deduction of 50 per cent on gross revenue of Self/partially funded

Agency/Parastatals and 100 per cent for fully funded agencies/ parastatals as interim remittance of the amount due to the Consolidated Revenue Fund,” the directive read.

The stringent enforcement of this policy is anticipated due to the close collaboration among the Ministry of Finance, the Accountant General, and the Office of the Coordinating Minister of Economy.

The accountant general is tasked with overseeing, monitoring, and conducting a monthly review of both the existing and new accounts of agencies/parastatals. This ensures that only funds approved by the Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy (HMFCME) and the Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF) are credited to supplementary accounts that the departments and agencies would use to hold internal funds.

All ministries and agencies concerned are expected to fully comply with the directive except when expressly permitted to act differently.

Politics › Rivers Crisis: My Decision To Embrace Peace Not Out Of Fear – Fubara by Morbeta11(op): 8:35am On Jan 03, 2024
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has said that the decisions taken by his administration in the political crisis in the state were not borne out of fear, but for peace to reign in the state.

Also, he explained that the resignation of the factional Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Edison Ehie, from his position and the legislature was in the interest of peace.

Fubara disclosed this while addressing Rivera people at the maiden state banquet held by his administration at the Government House, Port Harcourt, on Monday, to celebrate the New Year.

The PUNCH reports that Governor Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, after a truce meeting with President Tinubu on December 18, agreed to an 8-point resolution.

According to the eight-point resolution signed at the end of the meeting, the President directed that all lawsuits instituted in the courts by Fubara and his team regarding the political crisis in Rivers State be withdrawn immediately.

The resolution was signed by Fubara; his deputy, Ordu; Wike; Ribadu; factional Speaker of the Rivers State Assembly, Martin Amaewhule; Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State, Aaron Chukwuemeka, and the All Progressives Congress Chairman, Tony Okocha.

The resolution amongst others, mandated Fubara to re-present the 2024 appropriation bill he had earlier presented to the four-member state House of Assembly to the full House.

While wishing Rivers people a fruitful and prosperous 2024, he appealed to them to embrace the peace process at the instance of President Bola Tinibu.

Fubara stated that his administration would not be enmeshed in any dirty political war that would hinder the promising prospects of development in the state.

He said, “Every decision that we have taken is not borne out of fear but because we have the interest of our people and we have respect for elders.

“I’m appealing to every one of us to embrace peace. We need this peace because our intention for the state is not for our interest but for the development of the state.

“So when we are faced with this type of situation we consider the actions and reactions. Who is going to suffer? Fubara will not suffer, but one million supporters will suffer.”

The governor said his decision to embrace the eight-point resolution following the President’s intervention is not out of fear, but out of respect for elders.

” I want to leave you with only this message, we will not disappoint you. We also will not be involved in any dirty fighting because we know that we are going to be the losers.

“Therefore, whatever it will take as seen in our decisions, yesterday (Sunday) a lot of people were worried about why would the Speaker resign. It is to tell you what we can do for peace to reign, ” Fubara stated.

The governor said his administration was determined to leave a legacy of unity and development in the state and not a legacy of political apprehension.

In his welcome address, the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Tammy Danagogo, thanked God that despite the political turbulence in the state, Fubara is focused on dispensing the dividends of democracy in the state.

He pointed out that the state is blessed to have a governor who is “calculated, humble, honest and hardworking”, and urged Rivers people to be apostles of peace, truth and justice for the state to continue on a trajectory of greatness

Politics › 'Dangote, Port Harcourt Refineries Won’t Reduce Fuel Price’ – Rewane by Morbeta11(op): 8:58pm On Jan 02, 2024
The Chief Executive Officer of Financial Derivatives Company, Bismarck Rewane, has said that Port Harcourt refinery, Dangote refinery, and the others will only guarantee supply and not make the exchange rate any better.

Appearing on Channels Television’s End of the Year Special, Rewane was asked if the price of fuel would fall since it would now be produced within the country.

According to him: “It will not bring down the prices but will guarantee you supply. It would reduce the transportation cost of taking crude to Amsterdam, refining and bringing it back; that’s all.

“It would guarantee you supply to the extent that the product is always available. Significantly, it would increase productivity but it’s not a silver bullet that would do anything and it’s not going to do exchange rate any better.”
