Unknown gunmen have killed the paramount ruler of Orokpor village in Rumueme Community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Charles Miniku. It was gathered that Miniku was assassinated on Friday night during a meeting with other chiefs in the area inside the village hall.

According to Sunday Punch, the development caused panic in the area as several buildings were set ablaze. A source, who spoke on condition anonymity, said the gunmen stormed the council of chiefs meeting attended by some traditional rulers and chiefs, and shot their target to death. The source disclosed that the youth, loyal to the murdered chief, went on rampage and allegedly burnt down houses of the people they linked with the killing.

Miniku, until his death, was the secretary of a faction of the community leadership, which had been in dispute. Last year, Miniku escaped an assassination after he was accused of killing a rival chief in the community. Property worth millions of naira were destroyed in the community by the rampaging youths but the riot was later calmed through the intervention of the police.

Another source, identified only as Prince, said the murder was related to several communal issues concerning Miniku within the community. Prince linked the murder to chieftaincy tussle and sharing of entitlements from Nigerian Agip Oil Company located in the area.

The spokesperson for the police in Rivers, Mr. Nnamdi Omoni, said three suspects had been arrested in connection with the murder of the monarch. Omoni specifically said that the police were able to pacify the angry youths, adding that normalcy had returned to the area.

“Yes, I can confirm the incident and we have made adequate deployment. We have taken over the community. We suspect that the situation could have degenerated and more lives would have been lost. “But we were able to curtail the rampaging youths. People have been asked to go about their lawful duties.’’

The 82 released Chibok Schoolgirls have arrived FCT Abuja to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari in the Presidential Villa according to NAN.

Mr Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, who confirmed this development on his twitter handle, said the Chief of Staff to the President, Alhaji Abba Kyari received the girls at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

The girls, who regained their freedom on Saturday from Boko Haram captivity, would be meeting President Buhari at about 4.00p.m today. The 82 girls were released to international negotiators who have been working in collaboration with the Federal government for their safe return since they were kidnapped in April 2014.

Malam Garba Shehu, a presidential spokesman on Saturday in a statement issued in Abuja also confirmed that the girls were release by their captors in exchange for some Boko Haram suspects held by the Federal Government.

I may not have been born in 60's or 70's but I am surely wasn't born yesterday. The news of the release of Chibok Schoolgirls broke in the afternoon of today being 6th May, 2017 and I was very happy when I heard it but now am not. There are too much discrepancies that I will not do justice to if I don't point it out.

The information is confusing. In the first place, many Nigerians believe Chibok Schoolgirls issue was staged from the on set and it was just orchestrated to dethrone former president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. Could this be true? I for ones has been disproving that notion but now, I am inclined to see the obvious reason to believe it. The gray areas are too much.

One of the best discussion board in Nigeria, Nairaland, will let you know how Nigerians feel about this news. Though many feel is a welcomed development, but 89% of comments their simply believe that this is staged from the onset. One of the comments states:

Needless to bring to your notice that 167 people liked the comment as at just 4 hours of posting it and it is growing. In my own disbelieve, I would like to point out my reasons:

As of now, I can't state categorically how many girls has been released because the numbers are still conflicting. CNN reported 82 Chibok Schoolgirls was released which is were I got my cues but ABC News reported 83, BBC News reported 80 while Aljazera reported 62. Though most of the Nigerian news papers, especially NAN reported 82, Daily Trust reported 60. You can see the picture of the search I did on Google above.

I don't know if this is staged or a deceit by Nigerian government or not (though many people believe it is), but I don't understand why the numbers of the purportedly released Chibok girls cannot be correlated accurately by the military or top government officials involved.

So, do you think I have any iota of reason to not believe? I think I do. What do you think?

It is no news that drug peddlers always device new ways to carry their merchandise and I thank God our able enforcement officers are keeping up with them. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested two grandmothers with narcotics at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos on their way to the U.S and Saudi Arabia.

NDLEA spokesperson, Mr Mitchell Ofoyeju disclosed this in a statement on Saturday. He said the‎ suspects allegedly ingested 108 wraps of substances that tested positive for heroin and cocaine during outward screening of passengers at the MMIA, Lagos. He said that the‎ NDLEA commander at the Lagos airport, Ahmadu Garba gave the names of the suspected drug traffickers as Ebunoluwa Adebayo, 60, and Ayisat Amodu, 59.

He said that Ebunoluwa was‎ found to have ingested 83 wraps of heroin weighing 1.105kg on her way to New York,U.S while Ayisat ingested 25 wraps of cocaine weighing 275 grammes on her way to Medina, Saudi Arabia. ‎ Ofoyeju said that the women‎ blamed their involvement in drug trafficking on financial hardship.

He said preliminary investigation reveals that this is the first time a grandmother of 60 years will ingest a whopping 83 wraps of narcotics and noted that the second suspect was going to Saudi Arabia where drug trafficking attracts capital punishment.

“Adebayo Ebunoluwa Mercy was arrested while boarding a Virgin Atlantic flight to New York while Amodu Ayisat Grace was caught trying to board an Ethiopian airline flight on her way to Medina, Saudi Arabia,” he said.

He said that‎ ‎Ebunoluwa, a divorcee sells provisions at Ikorodu, Lagos while Ayisat sells food in Lagos.‎ In her words:

“I am a divorcee selling provision for survival. Things became rough and tough for me when I lost my capital due to family problems,” Ebunoluwa said‎. ”I was happy when they offered to sponsor my trip to Saudi Arabia but I never knew it will end in my detention,” Ayisat said.

‎He said that the‎ NDLEA Chairman, retired Col. Muhammad Abdallah assured that the agency would continue to work round the clock to root out drug traffickers in the country.

“This move by drug cartels to recruit grandmothers as mules is very disturbing, shocking and shameful. ”The moral emptiness exhibited by the suspects must be condemned by all. A situation where grandmothers have become a bad influence on their children and grandchildren is highly regrettable,” Abdallah said.

This is outrageous. More than 36 people feared dead as two passenger buses collided and caught fire at a quarry site at Kilometre 96, on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway today being Saturday 6th 2017.

According to an eyewitness, the two 18-seater buses had a head-on collision and the buses caught fire immediately. “All the passengers in the two buses were burnt beyond recognition. “Only a baby escaped death because the father threw him out through the window of the bus,’ ’ the witness told the News Agency of Nigeria.

When contacted, the Oyo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr. Yusuf Salami, confirmed the accident on telephone. Salami, however, said he had yet to be briefed on the casualty figures, but confirmed that the accident involved two 18-seater buses.

If you have any family member traveling that route, I think is time to make a call but I pray it will never be your potion or the potion of any member of your family to die horribly in auto crash. And I pray this so called drivers will take it easy on the road.

Music star and Marvin goddess Tiwa Savage is the newest face to join Rotary’s ‘This Close’ public awareness campaign for polio eradication. Tiwa Savage who is Nigeria's biggest pop star according to CNN has joined the Rotary cause in achieving a polio-free world. Ms Savage will raise awareness about the vaccine-preventable disease.

18 years old Raven Osborne is about to get her college degree, before even graduating from high school. She told CBS News:

"I graduate from college on May 5". Raven gets her college degree 17 days before her high school diploma, because she will graduate from high school on May 22. CBS News reporter, Jericka Duncan who interviewed her said:

"When people hear that … they're going, 'What? How did she do that?'" Duncan said. "Yeah they think I'm lying," Raven said.

The truth of the matter is, she isn't lying. She obtained her college degree through online classes, year-round community college and two years at Purdue University Northwest. Her semester-long college courses counted as a full year of high school credit. "Sophomore, that was the most work. I had five high school classes, four college classes," Raven said. Raven attends the 21st Century Charter High School in Gary, Indiana.

According to CBS News, the school is surrounded by dilapidated buildings, which is a common sight throughout the city. Everyone in the school is required to take college classes on a college campus in order to graduate. Some get very few credits. Five of this year's High school 43 graduates have earned associate's degrees.

Kevin Teasley started the foundation that runs the school. He uses state funding for tuition and transportation to nearby college campuses. "The one line item I want to see go up every single year is how much I'm spending on college," Teasley said. "When I started it was $10,000. Last year it was $85,000."

The good thing about the program is it helps a lot of poor and intelligent kids. Raven who now has a college degree said she didn't pay anything for her degree. When asked how much she paid for her college degree she said:

"Absolutely nothing," she said. "Not a dime."

After graduating both College and High School, Raven will be back at 21st Century Charter to become a teacher and will be earning a starting salary of $38,000per year.

These white garment church prophets are really getting on the nerves of every Nigerian. Fake prophets everywhere claiming they have powers to do something they can't do. Just yesterday, I heard a story of a Land Lady who called her white garment church prophet to come and pray for her faulty generator and guess what... she came.

Fake prophets and pastors are too much in Nigeria, that is if all of them are not fake. A prophet with a white garment church, simply identified as Femi, has been arrested by the Special Fraud Unit, Milverton, Ikoyi, Lagos, for allegedly collecting N70 million to treat a businesswoman who was diagnosed with fibroid.

Femi was arrested after the businesswoman's husband lodged a complaint over allegation that the prophet had threatened to kill him and inherit his property. The businesswoman had been diagnosed with Fibroid for 14 years, and had been running from pillar to post, to find a cure for her ailment. After she was introduced to Pastor Femi, he promised to cure her.

“A notable Nigerian, who was living in peace with his family before the prophet came into their lives, had reported a case of swindling of his wife, consequent upon which we began investigation. “Facts of the matter is that wife of the prominent Nigerian was having medical challenges as she was suffering from fibroid. The woman met a female trader, who introduced her to Prophet Femi of a Celestial Church in Oke-Ira, Ogba, Lagos.

“The prophet assured her that he would be able to handle the situation.” Lamorde, who was represented by SP Ngozi Braide, said. “They charged the woman N98,000 fee, which she paid and Prophet Femi gave her some herbs, which stopped the bleeding for a while.”. “When the bleeding started again in 2014, she went back to the prophet, who brought in a new twist to the matter.

“He hypnotised the woman and convinced her that her husband was responsible for her problems. Prophet Femi went further to convince the woman that her husband was also after her children’s lives, accusing him of being a cultist. “He went further to tell her that the bleeding was the source of her husband’s money. That the more it flowed the richer the man would get .

“The woman was asked to bring money for sacrifices and rituals, which she paid into the prophet’s account. She also built a five bedroom duplex at Ojokoro area of Lagos and another in Ado-Ekiti for the prophet, upon his request. “The prophet also warned the woman to stop sleeping with her husband and instructed her and her children to bring 70 percent of the money her husband gave to them monthly to him.

The death of Senator Isiaka Adeleke has been a subject that is mythical in the minds of his followers and his constituency. Though autopsy says he died from overdose of painkillers, and the doctor who prescribed it for him has been arrested, yet the family and friends of the senator believes there are more to his death. Of course he just attended a meeting before this mayhem befell him.

Well Ex-Minister for Aviation think the same way. Femi Fani-Kayode has alleged that some top politicians killed late Senator Isiaka Adeleke because of his gubernatorial ambition. He recently wrote in his new piece on the death of the first civilian governor of Osun State, who died on Sunday, April 23, 2017 from alleged painkillers overdose. In his words:

I am an indigene of Osun state. I am from Ile-Ife, the ancestral home of the Yorubas. So, whatever I am about to share with you is a product of personal experience and vast knowledge of the socio-political configuration of my state.

I have to share this after deep introspection, although I am still deeply mourning the death of one of Osun's finest and colourful politicians of all time.

1. Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke was a very popular grassroots politician
2. Isiaka Adeleke was a very generous and large-hearted man who could empty his vault for the people
3. Adeleke had gubernatorial ambition to succeed Rauf Aregbe, he's always had it even before he defected to the APC.
4. Sometimes in 2013, Rauf Aregbesola, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Chief Bisi Akande cajoled Adeleke to abandon his old political party, the PDP for the APC just so that they could ride on his popularity to win elections in Osun state
5. The joker worked as Adeleke left the PDP for the APC on the promise that he would be made to succeed Aregbesola after the later might have completed his two terms of eight years in office
6. But as usual, the trio of Rauf Aregbesola, Bola Tinubu and Bisi Akande reneged on this promise just like they did in the case of Gov. Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State in 2014
7. Unknown to Adeleke, they (Aregbe, Tinubu and Bisi Akande) have always had a different plan and the plan is that Adeleke would be prevented from getting the guber ticket
8. The belief of the trio is that Adeleke was too popular and independed-minded to be controlled by the Lagos Mafia
9. They knew that Adeleke had a winning political structure and it would be difficult to teleguide him from Lagos as they always do
10. So, Tinubu anointed Gboyega Oyetola and brought him back from Lagos to Osun State to be Chief of Staff to Aregbe overnight
11. Gboyega is Tinubu's first cousin from Iragbiji, the ancestral home of Tinubu in Osun state
12. Gboyega was/is the business advisor to Tinubu in Lagos. He handles a chunk of Tinubu's businesses in Lagos
13. Tinubu wanted him because he believes that he would further the perfect yeoman's job that he made Aregbe to do in Osun state.
14. But Adeleke was proving too 'stubborn' and too popular for their liking
15. They used the party to warn Adeleke not to commence campaigns but Adeleke defied them
16. Adeleke had the strong backing of Gov. Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State, Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state and lately, Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State.
17. These three detest Tinubu's godfatherism and high-handedness in the South-West, and they've been working well, and succeeding, in taming the monster
18. That's why you would notice that only these three gathered for the burial rites of Adeleke in Ede
19. Did you notice that not a single high ranking government functionary from Osun state attended the Fidau prayers in Ede?
20. Did you notice that despite his popularity and strategic importance to the victory of the APC in Osun state, neither Tinubu nor Bisi Akande honoured this Osun illustrious son with their presence at the Fidau?
21. It's all a perfected premeditated game plan.
22. First, Aregbe was told to travel out of the state, to China on a phony business trip
23. After this, the agents of darkness were programmed to strike and they did struck deep into the hearts of Osun people.
24. Almost immediately, and in order to cover their tracks, they asked Omoyele Sowore of Sahara Reporters to spine the story away from them
25. And like a loyal boy that he always is to the Lagos Mafia, he did spine it that Adeleke died of drug overdose in the hand of a 'quack' doctor
26. How can a doctor with over two decades experience suddenly become a quack overnight?
27. How could a doctor who had been attending to Adeleke and his family for years suddenly become a quack in the estimation of Sahara Reporters and its sponsors?

But they've only killed Adeleke, they've not killed the spirit of Osun people to liberate themselves from the yoke of the Lagos mafia. They've not killed Adeleke's memories in our hearts.

Five babies at a time? This is the work of God and they babies are very healthy. What a jouyful moment in this wonderful family. Oluwakemi Funmilayo Aminu and her husband Imudia Uduehi welcomed a set of quintuplets on April 12th in Abuja.

The covenant naming ceremony was held at The National Hospital, Abuja on April 19th and it was great.

I know some people that you will even wish for their wife to born twins and they will cause you and ask you if you will bring money for NAN and some other babe foods. Though those kind is as a result of poverty anyway.

Congratulations once more to Oluwakemi Funmilayo Aminu and her family.
