CultureRe: Kiswahili Should Be Made The Official African Language by morpheus24: 4:48pm On Mar 03, 2010
I think West Africa should stick to Pidgin English which is a modified version of the english language diluted with several African langugates . Its seems a more appropriate lingua franca across the english speaking regions. I don't see a gambian electing to speak kiswahili which like pidgin originates in east Africa and healily swayed already with Arabic.

The East Africans can keep Kiswahili for their confederation. I vote pidgin anyday,
Morpheus, you full of conspiracy. And you believe in whatever you read. You dont know South Africa and pretend to be an expect on South African issues. Spending less than five yrs in SA does not give you a certificate of knowledge of South African issues. You want to say that the Khoisan backside rubbed off to the rest of the population. The population of the khoisan is less than 10 000. Those khoisan you talking about, aren't their South African? You talk like they are not South African and they are not blacks, they are just like you, if you are black that is. I can see where you coming from, you dont want to credit anything to black South Africans, if not because of whites, its the khoisan. The khoisans are also blacks. And Large number of them are in Botswana. Which means in botswana they did not rub off their backside to the locals. Majority of women in Southern Africa are just gifted when coming to their bodies. Nobody can take that away. Almost all South African women have nice backsides than any place in the world.

I was so embarrassed by this American who was moving around on the street with a camera taking pictures of women backsides. He said he had never seen something like that.
Hold up on the conspiracy thingy there dear boy. I only deal in facts and hypothesis not just watchin movies like "invictus" to get my information.

I never made claims that khoisan are not African, they are undoubtedly a variation of the African type and the oldest it might seem.

As for the buttocks part. I am only going on what science says about it and it is not incorrect to deduce that "Steatopygia" which is more prevalent in Khoi peoples passed on to the bantu populations of SA. Deductive reasoning would suggest that Bantu's of SA(of which many have khoisan ancestry) have relatively bigger booties than other ethnic groups around Southern Africa of Africa in general as a result of this gene flow.

If the phenotype expression of big booties was desirable it would be selected for breeding purposes and would be retained.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steatopygia

I hope you know epicantal eyefolds are also predominantly Khoi features and also passed  on to bantu populations. Compare the below pics of one bantu and three khoisan. Notice any similarities?

Well you will have to bring out the cheque book cos fly around with your team will be one expensive, i too wonder why they didn't have dedicated stadium for each group

thanks for the pics

For accommodation, i here many people are doing up their houses for tourist and learning African/European dishes to cater for the surge lol their price should be reasonable

I saw some guy on TV with some sort of tent-hotels looks pretty decent for people not asking for much but for a country with
high crime rate im not too sure perhaps its located in secluded fields
Thats the only issue that bothers me.i would have liked to do the camping thingy especially in rustenberg but am scared of ole's. The onlly way would be if i see a battaliion of security personnell guarding the area to the teeth,

Again there will be FAN parks within the city limits so people can congregate and watch matches so for the Nigerian matches that I don't have tickets for. i will make do

I would still say, cross-border restrictions in Africa need to be lifted, or properly managed.

I see no point in attending a visa interview at the Kenyan or South African Embassies. Especially when I can go to Dubai, Malaysia, or Singapore, without visiting any embassy. In Dubai, I can shop, have fun, do what I want to do. Nowhere in Africa compares to the shopping malls, theme parks, and desert safaris that are available to me there. In fact, I am planning to do an Emirates round-trip to Orlando via Dubai much later this year, or early 2011, so that my family can experience Dubai.

For those who are into the 'scenic beauty' of Africa, I'd say good for you. I get around Africa on work trips anyway, and would not want to vacation in many of the countries I've visited. Only SA has tourism possibilities, and Kenya in my view is overrated. As a typical Nigerian, shopping is always part of my itinerary, and African nations offer zero possibilities there.
Okay why not cape verde. i heard mozambic is quite tourist friendly as well, Zanzibar has great resorts, The seychelles are beautiful islands. and cape verde gives you a taste of latin/mediterenean culture African style,

You can just come over to see for yourself. If you want to see bodies that you have never seen before, this is the place to be. I am not surprised why white folks never left Cape Town on their way to India. Blame it on the asss. They saw some thing that they have never seen before. As a results, we have the highest number of mixed(Coloured) people in the whole world, because these white folks were despoiling these poor African women all over. It happened because a white man could not resist the temptation of this beautiful hour glass shape of a body. Today, its the Germans, they are crazy about South African women. They are coming in numbers, more especially in Cape Town. Thats where they settle after finding themselves a curvacious beautiful lady. Its crazy, there is just too many interracial marriages here.
The south African backside is as a result of Khoisan women. Theeir booties have been condition to swell up in times of pletny and fall flat in times of famine.

What about accommodation. . .? I checked some website and the prices are WAAAAAAAAAAY TOOOOOOOO HIGH!!!
Have you any ideas concerning this?

Also have in mind that some folks will come with kids. Moving up and down with kids is a job on its own.
As far as accomodation is concerned, its insane right now so I can't give any tips.  I have friends who live in town so will obviously be bunking with them. There nare small B&B which will be cheaper than regular hotels, some hostel style areas and also will be huge areas that will be converted to tent like structures for fans who obviously have no accomodation and will probably be a charge to get one. Try to floow soem european chat forums for more details on that,  . preferably the british ones.

It's not advisable to come with kids if you are planning on running around to watch matches, however if you are coming more for a holiday and planning other activity hoping to catch maybe a game or two them its okay. (Note prices for everything will be 3 times as much, )

You might want to get more advise fromour resident South African (RSA) who would know a little more that I would.

What if you don't want to watch other teams or just not interested. I think it would have been easier if teams had dedicated stadia

@Dis Guy. . .see below
There are going to be match viewing centers so you don't necessarily have to be in the citites where the game is being played.

You are coming for the experience as well. Cape town is going to be a crazy town which is why I have avoided there. the other stadiums around joburg are pretty close to each other for a 45min to 2 hour car or bus trip to watch the matches if you have tickets.

Thanks kay_pumpin. I'd started to think no one actually cared to help NL-anders. cheesy

Yes you are right. . .our matches are scattered all over.

We play against Argentina in J'burg (Ellis Park Stadium)
Against Greece in Bloemfontein (Free State Stadium)
Against North Korea in Durban (Durban Stadium).

As you can see from the pic below, one has to travel to different locations to support The SE/watch our matches.
Heck I may just watch one of the matches. . .finito. I no too like stress o jare.
I have tickets for the Nigeria/Argentina game, Nigeria/Greece and some other African and european games in other stadiums as well

The stadiums in the Gauteng area are relatively close to each other per driving distance so one can catch games in this area. The only areas quite far away are Capetown, port Elizabeth and Durban which usually require flights if you are based in Johanesburg which is why I avoided games there.

Pretoria/tswana is about an hour away from Johanesburg
Rustenburg is about 2 hours away
Polkwane about three hours
Bloomfentein is about 4 hours way.
Nelspruit about 3- 4 hours away.

If you have a car it will be wasy to move around( road conditions are excellent for travel.

There will also be bus services shuttling people to and from games that are close to each other

The gau-train will take care of people in the Johanesburg pretoria area.

@poster

Most Nigerians spend their vacation in Nigeria, some go to abuja, some go to lagos, some go places where they have families within Nigeria.

The few who travel out of the country for vacation do so because they can afford it. And its the same thing for people from other parts of the world that you used as examples. i.e europeans and americans who vacation out of their regions.

As for other african countries you have mentioned, a lot of Nigerians that can afford to go on vacations probably would not go there because its easier to travel to UK or the US for them compared to those countries. Easier in terms of getting a visa and making flight arrangements.

Also, these countries don't promote tourism, so you don't expect people to try to buy from you, what you do not advertise to sell.
So the real problem is tourims is not directed at other Africans in general because they expect that most Africans are too poor to visit their countries.

Now we are getting somewhere, ,

Sagamite:
The key point is that that is almost the norm in SA, you at best are talking about a rarity. With a Diploma in Nigeria, you will suffer on less than N20K per month.

You can not compare the challenges of a foreign economic migrant to that of a local citizen. Because most Nigerians in SA are struggle is not representative of the level of struggle for the local citizens.
What norm are you talking about? the norm for a foreigner that is semi skilled or the norm for a local citizen that has the same qualifications,
