Europeans spend their time traveling their continent which keeps the currency within their region, creates different culturela awareness, helps create a tourist industry and promotes jobs, The Americans are the same way and would tavel more within the US that say taking a trip to South Africa. Why don't we a Africans promote tourism more within our borders and keep the currency within these borders. I mean theres lots of tourist destinations within the continent http://newsforums.bbc.co.uk/nol/thread.jspa?forumID=7510&edition=2&ttl=20100215163807 |
I miss intellectuals like BIKO who were real gems in the South African populous. People who could argue political and social issues with a reasonable IQ not the ones who keep comparing skyscrapers, how many tourists come to the country and how westernized their societies appear. I haven't seen any leaders in your ANC who possess such intellecutal prowess and are able to chart or present a vision for the future of your country yet. Some of you have become disllusioned Uncle tom's who are now content on Nando's chicken and driving the latest cars, the rest are scrambling for money and power trying to become the new BEE elite. Check below: Lagos has been listed as the fifth worst city in the world Lagos City The city of Lagos has been listed as the fifth worst city in the world, following a survey carried out recently by the Economist Intelligence Unit. This was made known in a statement published online on Friday by Reuters. According to the survey, 140 cities were ranked 30 factors, such as healthcare, environment, culture, education, and security, to mention but a few. The Canadian coastal city of Vancouver tops the list of 10 most liveable cities in the world, closely followed by Vienna, Melbourne and Toronto. The others include Calgary, Helsinki, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide and Auckland. African cities dominate the list of less liveable cities with Johannesburg, one of the designated venues of the 2010 World Cup occupying the 92nd position. http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art201002133423215 Lagos City The city of Lagos has been listed as the fifth worst city in the world, following a survey carried out recently by the Economist Intelligence Unit. CHECK THE LIST AND STOP MAKING NOISE
You know that is why you mofo's can't think outside the box much. who is defining the meaning of "livable" in this context. Aren't ther 150 milliion people living there. Have they droppeddown and died. If you are accepting the definition of "livable' in the western context then bro you might as well peel your skin white so you can become 'acceptable' as well in the hierachy of definitions provided by your masters.
i dont see how the critics are wrong to be concerned about safety in Africa when Africans themselves complain about lack of safety all the time. and yes, much of the world is biased against Africa but considering what goes on there, wouldnt any ordinary person feel scared? Both Sepp Blatter and the anti-Africa critics have a point. Sometimes we should look at ourselves honestly although that's impossible.
The reporting should be balanced. If you see any report about SA it usual centers around crime in very popular crime ridden areas that are usually avoided by most sensible people at odd times of the day. This should be accompanied with the beautiful views of tourist running around the cape, the safaris and so on to give a wholistic viewof the country. imean anyone who watched last years attack would think this was something that was occuring everywhere. I don't think you would see such a sight inside in Sandton for instance. Its like showing pics of Ojuelegba and orile all day without balancing the coverage of nice areas in Abuja, Calabar, yankari game reserve and so on. America and britain have ghetto spots too. |
ignorance for the westerners is simpler than really understanding the truths about Africa. The whole continent is painted as a cesspol of hungry and dying people. it is very obvious that for people who have never been to this part of the world and simply get their information from media stories will think everyone that lives here are wretched. It truly is annoying and something I will continue to advocate against. |
vislabraye:I doubt you even know the meaing of NOk |
Abeg make una comot that post before 419 boys go forge the signature wey dey that letter |
See his interview with CNN http://edition.cnn.com/video/#/video/world/2010/01/13/purefoy.nigeria.president.health.cnn |
Ikengawo:I concur with the above hypothesis,The Nok are very likely the firts migrations to that part of Africa during the desertification process as far as the dating is concerned. However I believe there had to be a reason for further migration south into the Edo lands and would tie the reminants of the Nok culture to Edo affinities more likely transfering there in to the Yoruba. Thats just logical. As far as the the south south ethnic groups are concerned, based on language genetics and cultural affinities it is very likely the so called "Proto-Bantu" speakers originated somwhere central of Africa and then there were small pockets of migrations West ,the larger versions towards the east and eventually to the south of Africa. |
snoopy:Dem no like the way Naija dey ginger their swagga. You see if the 'whiteman' or an Arabian prince, even Chinese man has swagga its comprehensible since thats is the norm for many a black people. However its dumbfounding that the audacity for a Naija man despite the state of his "country" to have the same swagga + JARA is just incomprehensible since in one's thought process a blackman who doesn't swagga like a whiteman is not capable of such flamboyancy in such situations. exception being South Africans or AA's who have paid a heafty price for their swagga. |
debosky:Possibe reason for their "disappearance"could be assimulation into other incoming ethnic groups Displacement as a result of war stemming from encroachment by other cultures. or they simply just died out. Question is where did they go or what Nigerian ethnic group assimulated them. I wish they could dig up human fossils and date back as at the same time they are speculated to have existed. would have been nice to comapre them to general DNA date on West or North sahel Africans. |
RSA:Hmmm I wonder why before the Xenophobic attacks there wasn't blantant attacks of jealousy on your brethren. Maybe its because we didn't have a perception of Saffers in such a light, |
suxes2005:You no go come back!! |
Don't mind Abrantie Gbawe don open im yansh finish for SPORTS SECTION. he wants to come here and talk rubbish, |
shilling:The diffference is the two countries are still suffering from a lasting effect of isolationism from other African countries until recent. The rest of the countries you mention above are relatively aware of general African Affairs which is why they don't exihibit the fear of dominance inherent in cultures that have been repressed. Its a sad truth and I have long given up on how tocomeup with solutions to breaching the gap because like my pops used to say you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. The Saffers have to come around ie if they ever will. |
Abrantie:You know its just now I am noticing no Ghana artist at the MTV Afrian awards.CHEi!!!! |
Abrantie:HA! HA! HA! see this guy you need to go drink some hatorade bros. You are proving more daft by the minute. Seriously stop before you blow one kind lie you cannot recover from. |

via Sanni Abacha " Ga-ment" instead of 'government" |
@ NAFAMES Let me tell you how to save a failed state. Form an organization get some funding from corrupt governments. Buy weapons and go to Jos and exchagne fir for fire with those soldiers instead of standing around weeping far away for your nation. COWARDS!! |
