ChiefDaddy1: So Insighful, thank you for the info. Please what is ATS and no prior experience in the field yet apart from Internship
Please the course by course is still same thing like getting ECA done or it has a different process if am using WES? Thank you very much ATS: Applicant Tracking System. A computer code that uses keywords to filter applicants before your application would even get to be seen by humans in the HR. You have to know how to get your CV to get past this stage before you can have a hope of getting interviews if not hundreds of application will keep leading to no single interview. If you already have your ECA done with WES in the course of your PR process just go back to your account on WES website and upgrade your evaluation to a course by course. You will pay some fee but not as expensive as starting from scratch and you don’t need to send further documents unless WES specifically asked for it. But be sure of what your Engineering Body is requesting. APEGA for example requests course by course evaluations from WES. |

ChiefDaddy1: To the Civil Engineers in the house, please what do I need to do in naija before landing in order to secure a job in civil engineering.
In order to be a certified engineer in a province should I evaluate my Bsc and Msc base on course to course evaluation ? Not a Civil Engineer but also a fellow Engineer and it's all the same process. Start your Course by Course Evaluation as soon as you can so it's ready by the time you land and you can proceed with the Certification, however, if you have a lot of working experience say 4-5 years of Solid Experience (You might be asked to take an Exam if your experience is from Nigeria/Africa and you're gunning for Professional Membership). If you have less than 4-5years of experience you will be considered as an EIT (Engineer in Training). There's not much you can do in Naija before coming than to prepare your mind to hop on all opportunities that comes your way when you land. Brush your interview skills and update your CV and Cover letter writing skills to get past ATS and land you interviews. Be ready to start small until you get what you want. Civil Engineering is doing great in Ontario and BC.. opportunities in Calgary area too, apply to as many as you can, network on LinkedIn like crazy and talk to people as soon as you land. |

chibede: please how are prospects for a PR with nebosh INTERNATIONAL GENERAL CERTIFICATE IN OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY to secure a safety job in entry level in calgary and how much is the pay per hour.and is nebosh accepted in canada If youre looking to get a safety job in the field, prepare your mind to move to Grande Prairie, Fort McMurray and the likes. You may land in Calgary but just start preparing your mind to go where the safety jobs are. Also NEBOSH is not well recognized here and safety jobs are not usually advertised as other jobs, it's all about being around the field and networking with those who work there. That being said, anything is possible. |

Thanks you Salford1 salford1: Of course it will be verified; therefore, submitting a fake is not going to crawl not to mention fly. If you submit it, you will be slammed with an heavy fine plus possible suspension. The one year wait you were trying to avoid could be turned to years of suspension. Cutting corners does not work in Canada. My brother, think am well. |

Thanks so much for your response Blooit004: The idea that WES is a difficult body to use because of WAEC is not true. I evaluated with WES, sent everything requested for, WAEC inclusive and my evaluation was completed exactly 2weeks after all my credentials had been verified; 6weeks in total from the date they received my documents, could have been shorter had my school verified me faster.
It is not difficult getting WAEC to send your result. Go to WAEC office at Yaba with 2passport photographs, a photocopy of your waec result, a sworn affidavit that the result is yours, one waec scratch card, 2 envelopes and 20k cash. You don't need connections there, WAEC will send your result and verify you. God's best. |

I don't know why people still use third-party companies to order GCMS notes when you can do it on CIC's website for just $5 CAD... but people don't like to read and research so when it backfires they keep claiming village people... pure ignorance olabellruk: Copied.
Pls let's take note.
Manmeet Rai: Story of a newly landed PR resident. This morning I met a newly landed PR, who was a part of my previous WhatsAPP group. We met because he desperately contacted me on Friday seeking help. This new PR could not find an apartment because two banks refused to give him a Credit Card. The landlords had doubts about his credentials. The federal government mandates that all newly landed PR be given at least a $2000 credit card. He was not provided the card because someone stole his identity and tried using it to get a line of credit. Long story short, we sat down to figure out how his identity could have been stolen and it all boiled down to two factors. The place you order your GCMS notes from and whom you shared them with. So the newlay landed PR has ordered 2 sets of GCMS notes form a website like many others. He also shared the notes with some fellow WhatsAPP members.
I have been emphasizing over and over again, that GCMS notes contain very important information which can be used or stolen. It is therefore very important to ensure where you request your GCMS / CBSA / CSIS notes and whom you share it with. Most of the GCMS website operating are not incorporated in Canada and therefore even if you want to take a legal action, you cannot.
Starting today, any one who shares GCMS notes or an extract of it without blanking out personal details, his posts will be immediately deleted.
How to verify if the GCMS notes provider is a legitimate one or an fly by night:
1. Thoroughly check the website. If it is a crudely esigned website, then it is a one person job and its credentials doubtful. 2. Chekc the legal and terms and condition section. See if it subjects itself to Canadaian courts in case of dispute. 3. If you have doubts, ask the website operator for their address and contact number. 4. All websites not have a trend to mention PIDEPA compliance. However, none of of them are as it takes hours of audit and internal processing to meet the requirements.
To provide a greater legitimacy to getgcms.com, starting next week, it will have a phone number and a contact address in the contact page. This is being done to alleivate any concerns of foul play.
Please share this and keep your information safe. |

nat138: I will suggest you try and call home office as well and hear what they say, since yours isn't a tourist visa. I am assuming you are in the UK right? There are other things to weigh in on, if you withdraw your application, it will mean you no longer have a valid application and may have just a 28 days period to legally remain in the country. If your passport takes longer than 4 weeks to come back, what do you do? All I am saying is thread on the side of caution. Make sure you call home office 1st thing Monday morning, they should be able to make provision, even it means temporarily putting your application on hold (at least this will be done from a legal perspective and you still have legal cover to remain in the county), but not for you to out rightly cancel it. I am making these suggestions assuming you are currently in the UK. Thanks for your solid advice bro.. Will give them a ring on Monday |

I will be cancelling the passport next week, even though the exam has been paid for. I will let you know how many days it takes once I am told Mine isn't a tourist visa though.. Applied for it to stay back after my student visa expired in January |

I might be withdrawing my application next week if Home office isn't ready to release passport without cancellation application and CIC doesn't wanna give another extension |
