BTW just because apts are advertised on Chinese websites and not foreigners orientated english speaking websites, does not mean that it is illegal to rent such apt to foreigners. a person from Singapore is also a foreigner in China, although they speak Chinese.

thanks, i actually use to live in China (Beijing/Shanghai), and although i only visited Guangzhou a few times, this was by far the city in China where i met the most black/African people.....and Chinese people HATE black/Africans like the plague. so i certainly can understand that many would have difficulties find apt to rent and/or be refused accommodations just because of their skin color. thus why, sometimes using a Chinese "friend" to search apt and go talk for you is much easier.

if you stay for a long perod of time (+2 months) then you might as well look for a room to rent somewhere, unless you want your own apt. the problem with Guangzhou is that majority of people who want to buy from big manufacturers end up there, thus Chinese understand that and charge a bit more for foreigners rentals etc. since i assume you dont speak/read Chinese, find a Chinese person to help you find a place to stay from rentals in Chinese (aka for locals), and within a few hours, you will find a bunch of options 10x cheaper to live in.

now whether or not these landlords would want to rent to a black LAOWAI is up to them!

But let me tell you a little about a country in Europe.
Government takes care of the education of their citizens from Primary -High school up to University and still pay them allowance monthly.
Any citizen above 18 years , even if you are doing a job of let say 5,000 naira, can comfortably walk in any car stand and select a car that you want and payment will be spread over how many years you like.
The last thing in the minds of the citizen is to build a house, cos houses are already built and all you need do is to apply, and it is spread over a period of time. This country has no Crude Oil, but the Citizens do not lack jobs.
They live a fulfilled life. Every system is working,
We have very big problem in Africa, talking down on people who are 101% better than us, we cannot even equate with them, Socially, Educationally, Economically, Technologically , just name it.
Ochimex is very correct and summarized it all, Poverty is a choice, you choose to be poor in these countries, because their government got them covered.

A) NO country in EARTH will give credit for a car to an 18Yr old not earning enough money to make repayments, UNLESS HIS/HER PARENTS SIGN FOR IT.
B) yes anyone can get a mortgage, and a great deal lose their home because they cant make repayments. you think all the foreclosures you see up and down is a joke?!?!?
C) again, you are not talking to an African looking down on Africa, you are talking to a French person born and bred (from African decent) telling you that there is POVERTY in Europe/US. stop using your wrong assumption to say that because we have 24hs electricy, running water, car loans and mortgages, there can be no poor people in the west.... the mnute you take a loan to buy anything that you cant afford, thats the definition of a poor person.
D) remember, this discussion is NOT about whether the west is better than Africa or not....anyone knows the answer to that question....this discussion is about whether or not there is poverty in the west.
