Update From . COM The police has arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly defiling his 2-year-old niece at Okokoro road Otukpo, Benue state, Reports. Benue activist, Ukan Kurugh said the suspect is a step-brother to the victim’s mother. He further revealed that the incident occurred on Saturday January 15. According to Kurugh, the suspect who regularly visits his step-sister, allegedly defiled her child in her sitting room after she left the baby with him to wash items she uses for her business. Kurugh wrote; I received a call from a lady yesterday regarding the rape of her two years old daughter by her uncle who is 28 years old. The incidence is said to have taken place at Okokoro road Otukpo on the 15/01/2021 The mother narrated to me through my informant that her step brother was a regular visitor to the house as a result her baby was fond of him. So on this particular day, when he visited again she confidently left them in the parlor and went to wash her containers which she uses in packaging Zobo and kunu Aya for sale. However, she had a premonition that something was wrong and decided to go inside to check her baby On entering she saw the Man pampering the baby who was drenched in sweat. She collected the baby from him and asked him what happened to her baby? He was silent. She then asked her baby what was wrong and the little baby said it's her uncle that has made her bumbum to be paining her. The baby girl has been asked severally where the uncle touched her and each time she places her hand on her private part. A medical examination at the hospital reveals bruises and blood clots in her vagina. ( The video was also sent to me while she was crying in pain during the examination) The suspect was apprehended by the vigilante and confessed to this offense, claiming it was his first time. (This was also recorded on video and it's posted as well). He attempted to run away when they noticed weed (Igbo) on him and was re-arrested by the vigilante group. However I was told by my contact person some form of negotiations/fishy dealings was ongoing around the case to settle outta the public eye. I immediately brought the matter to the attention of the no nonsense Executive Chairman of Otukpo LG, Hon. George Alli whom I know and respect for his intolerance for such cases. Hon George Alli immediately swung into action by drawing the attention of the Police who made arrest from the hands of the vigilante guys and he has personally undertaken the matter to assist the Police in whatever way necessary for due investigation and Prosecution of this matter. The culprit will be charged to court latest tomorrow and kept behind bars while every other process is ongoing under the watchful eyes of a dogged fighter against rape and social vices MC Kpakpakpa. The Indigenous People of Biafra has declared sit-at-home on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, in the South-East, ahead of a court judgement expected to be delivered on their leader, Nnamdi Kanu's human rights case instituted the Nigerian government on same day. Emma Powerful, IPOB spokesperson said the order became necessary as Kanu is billed to appear in court on January 18, 19 and 20 for the continuation. Reiterating that the sit-at-home order is just for Tuesday January 18, Emma stated that anybody issuing an order for sit-at-home on January 19 and 20 is not a member of IPOB and such persons are working against the entire struggle for independence, and should be disregarded. The statement also tagged anyone found enforcing the non-existent Monday sit-at-home on January 17 as a criminal, adding that IPOB leadership had already cancelled it and it must be obeyed. The statement read; “We are the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB under the command of our indefatigable Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Following our Leader’s upcoming court proceedings on the 18th, 19th and 20th of January 2022 next week, we wish to remind Biafrans that there will be only sit-at-home on 18th of January, and not 19th and 20th of January. In keeping with our avowed solidarity with our Leader, the entire Biafra land will be on lockdown only on January 18 for obvious reasons. “Biafrans should understand that 19th January is the judgment day in the suit by our Leader against the Federal Government which is pending before an Umuahia High Court. So, there will be no sit-at-home on that day. “Again, we don’t want to compound the pains of our people, hence, we will limit the sit-at-home to only January 18. Biafrans and residents of Biafra are free to go about their businesses without molestations on 19th and 20th January. Anybody found enforcing non-existent Monday sit-at-home on 17th, 19th and 20th is criminal and must treat as such, IPOB leadership have given order and that order is what signed. “Everybody must be careful because these waves that are coming will consume many and every principal of IPOB mostly the coordinators must know that it will bounce on their heads if they don’t checkmate the activities of members and call them to order. IPOB is not a village or social club where everybody will behave untowardly to people like cultists. “For clarity sake, we reiterate that there will be no sit-at-home on January 19th and 20th. Nobody is expected to interfere with either human or vehicular movements in those days under any guise. Any detractor or agent of darkness caught obstructing peoples activities in Biafra land on January 19th and 20th in the name of enforcing sit-at-home will regret his or her actions. “We realise that some unscrupulous and traitors are trying to create confusion about these days and dishing false information and propaganda trying to create confusion in Biafra land. IPOB never declared sit at home on 19th and 20th of January 2022. Therefore, we want all Biafrans to go to their normal business on these days without fear.” Kanu is standing trial on charges bordering on treasonable felony. Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara state have arrested a suspected serial POS fraudster and fake alert scammer, Victor Adebayo, 24. Parading the suspect in Ilorin on Friday January 14, the state commandant of the NSCDC, Makinde Iskil Ayinla, said that the suspect had sometimes posed as a pastor to dupe his victims. He said that the suspect was arrested by the intelligence unit of the corps after he had defrauded many unsuspected people of the amount of money worth more than N700,000. According to the Civil Defence boss, the suspect who claims to be a Lagos based resident usually send alerts to unsuspected POS operators and will now collect cash from them and disappear into thin air. "On January 13, 2022, operatives of the NSCDC intelligence and investigations department picked up a suspected serial fraudster who has been going around defrauding people of their hard-earned money," Ayinla stated. "The suspect was usually going around in his Toyota Corolla car and very neat appearance and would meet POS operators to give him cash and he will now make a fake transfer which he has programmed on his phone," The suspect, who confessed that he had been doing it for more than two years, had previously posed as a pastor to convince the POS operators or tell them that his wife is in labour in the hospital and needed a certain amount of money. Meanwhile, some POS operators in the Ilorin metropolis, especially some that might have fallen victim to fake alert fraudsters before, had thronged the Kwara State Command of the NSCDC, trying to identify the suspected serial fraudster. The state commandant also appealed to the POS operators and the entire people in the state to be wary of fraudulent act of certain criminal elements who he said are going about with intention of defrauding them of their money.
