COM Four suspected notorious land grabbers have been arrested by men of the Ogun state police command while unleashing violence on the people of Babaode-Onibuku community in Ado odo Ota local government area of Ogun state. A statement released by DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, spokesperson of the state police command, says the suspects, Najimu Ojumola 42yrs, Monday Olaleye 25yrs, Kehinde Martins 34yrs and Felix John 27yrs were arrested, following a distress call received by the policemen at Onipanu divisional headquarters, that Babaode-onibuku village was under siege by group of land grabbers, who invaded the village with dangerous weapons, and held resdents of the community hostage. Oyeyemi said; ''Upon the distress call, the Dpo Onipanu division, CSP Bamidele Job, quickly mobilized his men and moved to the scene for rescue operation. On getting to the scene, the hoodlums launched an attack on the policemen and injured one ASP Tajudeen Adeleke and Inspector Babatunde Olayiwola, but they were later subdued, and two amongst them Najimu Ojumola and Monday Olaleye were apprehended. While the policemen were taking the arrested hoodlums to the station, their colleagues ambushed the policemen at Idiroko road, and attacked them with the view to free the arrested ones. They were subsequently dispatched and the duo of Felix John and Kehinde Martins were equally arrested. According to Oyeyemi, items recovered from the suspects include eight expended cartridges, one live cartridge, one cutlass, three Bajaj Motorcycle and one Toyota Corolla with registration number FST 42 FT. He added that the commissioner of police, Edward Awolowo Ajogun, has ordered the transfer of the suspects to state criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation. The CP also warned land grabbers to stay clear of Ogun state, as the command will not tolerate any form of thuggery and hooliganism in any part of the state. COM It was gathered by News Crew, that the deceased popularly known as General Frank, was shot dead by some gunmen in his hometown, Bilabiri community, in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State on Thursday night, April 1. It is not clear if his death is related to the reported killings in the community over security contract. reports that four persons have reportedly died in Bilabiri Community in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State following a blood bath over disagreement on a proposed security contract. It was further gathered that the blood bath ensued over disagreement on who handles a major multinational oil company security contract in the area. An indigene of the area, identified as Embiowei, who confirmed the incident said there is a battle for supremacy among youths on who controls an oil security contract running into millions of Naira. Meanwhile, the Senior Special Assistant to Bayelsa Governor on General Duties, Hon. Watchman Ebebe James, has condemned the killing of the security leader. "The SSA to the governor of Bayelsa State on General Duties Hon. Watchman Ebebe James strongly condemned the killing of his colleague Gen. Frank Seide, the former Rda Chairman and presently, coordinator waterway security Ekeremo Axis," the statement reads. "When I heard the news that my colleague, Gen. Frank Seide is gone, I thought the world has ended. I'm calling on the government and all security agencies to properly investigate the killers of Gen. Frank Seide and brought those perpetrators to book. "Meanwhile, I also advice the people of Bilabiri, federated Community to be Vigilant, Steadfast and they shouldn't take the law into their own hands because I know that the perpetrators must surely brought to book! COM Reported By UDOKABESTLUV In Onitsha Traders at the popular plastic market in Onitsha, Anambra state are currently counting their losses after a fire broke out at one of the plazas in the market in the early hours of today, March 5, Reports. Police operatives led by DPO CPS Onitsha SP Ifeanyi Iburu quickly mobilized to the scene and cordoned off the Area to prevent looting and further catastrophe. The state Fire Service was equally contacted and they responded promptly to put out the fire. As At The Time Is Filing This Report, No loss of life and no injury have been reported.
