Politics / What Does Buhari Take Nigerians For? by mrinfo(m): 3:05pm On Feb 03, 2011
That Man is living in the past. Want to know why?
1. He always looks for alliances with other political parties but is never ready to give up something. ACN was reasy to adopt him if he would contest under their platform, he refused. HE always wants everything and everybody to dance to his tune. That military sense is in born and he had better realise Nigerians have no time for such democracy truncators like him

2. He refused any advice on whom to pick as his VP and went ahead foolishly and stubbornly to pick Tunde Bakare from the North. Jus what doeas he think the rest of us are.

3. That man, Buhari has no ideas, has lost touch with modern governance and thus doesn't have anything to offer Nigerians except the so-called strictness which I think is dictatorship.

All these men should just leave us alone. Is it when we start protesting like the Tunisians, Egyptians and Yemenians that these old fools will get the message?
Politics / How To Make Tons Of Money From Your Talents And Skills by mrinfo(m): 5:29pm On Jan 31, 2011
This is an excerpt from a business blog. Enjoy

Remember, before you read on, that everything I am writing here on this blog is meant to get you started earning money , managing it and increasing your networth with lots of commonsense.

The articles might be down-to-earth but that’s what you will need if you hope to get onto the lane of big-earning business people. No long story here just real, hard-hitting facts, a little anecdote ( since people love stories to motivate them ) and lots of good, old advice.
Now back to the topic. I know you can’t wait anymore for what I’ve got to dish out.

The first advice however is this:

Don’t take anything you know for granted because what you know might be a revelation to others who don’t know it. But there still remains this nagging question, How on earth do you make tons of money from your skills if you don’t know what skills u have got ?

WHAT SKILLS CAN GIVE YOU AT LEAST A HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ANNUALLY?
My answer? Almost any skill can. It all depends on how you package both yourself and your skills and also on how good you are with those talents or skills.
Before we start talking about how you can turn your unused gifts into millions lets first consider what kind of talents or skills you can actually work upon to earn your money.

A run down of talents or skills you can convert to real money makers include;
singing
comedy
writing
speaking
marketing skills
show organising/entertainment
art and craft
fashion designing
beauty enhancing
event organising
copywriting
data management
money management
fundraising
music production
science/inventing
baking
cooking/catering
chocolate making
coffee making
shopping
herbal knowledge
fitness
nutrition
fishing/fishcare
dog/pet grooming
mechanical repairs
gardening
martial arts
gaming
security
investigating
camping/travel

Of course there are so many others . We will unearth all the treasures wherever they may be found, just keep following our every move. With all these skills available nobody should have any excuse for not making enough money for themselves.
The most important thing is to know that you can make money from almost anything. We’ll teach you the tricks all free and fair. Right here!
We are also going to teach you how to survive in the shark infested waters of business and eat instead of being eaten.

And finally be ready for some commonsense advice that will beat off all the silly nonsense many people will want to fill you up with. Here it is Talents To Riches !!

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Adebayor Hopes To Start For Real Madrid by mrinfo(m): 4:57pm On Jan 28, 2011
Real Madrid's new loan signing Emmanuel Adebayor is hoping to make his Liga debut away to Osasuna on Sunday - even though he does not know where it is.

"I have no idea where Pamplona is (where Osasuna are based), but they have told me it will be difficult to win there. I hope to play," the Togolese told radio station Cadena Ser.

"My first conversation with Jose Mourinho was positive, but we haven't gone into details yet (about his role)."

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Ramires: The Signs by mrinfo(m): 4:49pm On Jan 28, 2011
18 million pounds is never a small fee to pay for a midfielder and so you will always expect that when a club spills out such money the should really get value for it. Especially when the player is a Brazilian.

The expectations on Brazilian Ramires has been very huge even too huge I dare say. Everyone of the Chelsea fans it seems expected him to start right away making things happen for the blues.

And so when he continously lost the ball to the opposition in midfield (the Manchester City case readily comes to mind)the hopes soon turned to despair and anger. Many questioned why such a player should be bought at such a high cost.

But what Ramires had going for him was his tireless running and endless tackling which many times disrupted attacking flows for the opposition. He only needed to tidy up his ball possession, passing and shooting accuracy and the blues will suddenly have gold in their hands.

Of recent just like I hoped after watching him in a few matches he has begun to come to terms with the harsh realities of the English league. And just on Monday he scored his first goal in the blue jersey.

My prediction is that more will come from the Brazilian. He has youth on his side.

Comment: Now that Ramires has scored Mikel Obi has to seriously do something about his attacking play. He is doing good defensively but in the modern game that may not be enough for a defensive midfielder. I just hope he gets the message now that Ramires has got a goal.

Politics / Telecommunications Jobs Interview Tips by mrinfo(m): 5:12am On Jan 28, 2011
Telecommunications job interviews can be multi-stage. These interviews are essentially a combination of a behavioral interview and a technical testing process. It’s strongly advised to do thorough preparation for these interviews. The telecommunications job interviews are competitive, and you need a good solid average of correct answers at all stages of the process to get the job.

Telecommunications Job Interview Technical Test Preparation

The technical questions are concentrated in the testing stages, although there may be one or two in the verbal interview. These tests may require some very basic research of the employer’s business and, most importantly, their business systems.

Typical questions can be very simple and concerned entirely with necessary knowledge, but the tests carry a lot of weight in the final decision to employ candidates. This is like grading for a final mark in school, and the tests are about 50 percent of the result.

The questions may involve:

* Voice channels

* Signal channels

* Pulse code modulation

* Satellite voice communications

* Byte sizes

* VOICE

* Microprocessor functions

* Interrupt requests

* Data packets

These are generally multiple choice questions, and they’re broadly based on technical training tests. You may also get communications questions based on text interpretation and other standard business tests. If you haven’t done one of these tests before, or not for a while, it’s a good idea to do some practice tests, which you can find online. Practice tests allow you to adjust mentally to the testing environment and get some fluency in your handling of test questions.
Telecommunications Job Behavioral Interview Preparation

The behavioral job interview is a typical job interview, but in a telecommunications interview, the technical element remains part of the natural area of focus and will form part of your answers.

Typical behavioral questions can look simpler than they are. In the field of telecommunications systems, your answer has to be technically correct as well as behaviorally correct. Remember that you’re speaking to technical experts who can evaluate both issues.

Here is an example of a question:

“You’re the team leader. A lightning strike has knocked out a local exchange. Nobody’s sure what the situation is. How do you deal with it?”

This is a problem solving question. It involves:

* Correct procedures

* Safety procedures

* Quick, effective response to the situation

* Efficient practices

* Team leadership and organizational skills

* Good assessment skills

* Situational awareness

As a technician, you can see why the interviewers need a good, thorough response to a question like this. It’s absolutely vital that a team leader knows how to handle this situation. They can’t recommend anyone who doesn’t. On the technical level, the answer must be right.

“Team” questions are an important part of the telecommunications job behavioral interview. Telecommunications jobs are group efforts, and teamwork and good practices have ramifications at the technical level.

Career / Networking 101 by mrinfo(m): 10:24am On Jan 24, 2011
The Web is usually the first place people go to find a job, and many fill their days blasting resumes in response to online job postings. That’s a classic mistake, says Donald Asher, author of Cracking the Hidden Job Market: How to Find Opportunity in Any Economy. In this job market, “people have to do something different to find a job,” says Asher. If you are simply applying to posted openings, there will always be someone who has a little more edge than you’ve got ”

Frustrating as it may be, about half of all new jobs are filled before they ever make it to the online posting or newspaper vacancy stage. And in a bad economy, even more jobs go to those who know someone on the inside or approached the company at the right time. For those job openings that are advertised online, hiring managers may get hundreds—if not thousands—of applicants. But if you’re working the “hidden” job market, you’re more likely to compete with six to 10 other applicants.

Tapping into this hidden job market—and effectively turning yourself into an insider—takes some creativity and plenty of initiative. Here are a few strategies:

Make a connection. Instead of waiting for a job to be posted, initiate contact with a hiring manager at a company you want to work for and create a dialogue. If you don’t know anyone at the company—or know anyone who knows anyone—scan the website for employee E-mail addresses.

But try to avoid the human resources department. Ask these employees to refer you to the correct department head. Ask a specific question, and be precise. For example, if you’re looking for a job in sales or accounting, ask who you should speak with about that subject.

Find the person who makes decisions and talk to them—they’ll know that they have hiring needs months before they post a job opening. When you finally do make contact with a decision maker, ask for advice and ideas.
“If you ask for advice, you’ll get a job faster than if you ask for a job,” This could lead to information that, for example, you need more training or education to get a position in the field or that this particular company is growing and may be hiring soon. But for this strategy to work, you must be sincere.

Cast a giant net. Someone who can vouch for you is a powerful tool in snagging a job before it’s posted. But even if you don’t personally know someone who works for the company, you can still get a referral, Asher says. “Go to LinkedIn and find someone who went to your school, who maybe you’ve never met, and ask them to drop your resume,” he says. The site can also direct you to friends of friends who work for a particular company. Another option is to contact a member of your professional association who works for the company, using the association’s directory. “You don’t have to be buddies. You don’t actually have to have ever met. That’s why you go to association meetings,” says Asher.

Tap your network strategically. Once you dust off your network, proceed carefully. “Don’t make your first query about how you’re [looking for a job],” says Asher. “Say, ‘I saw that the Giants won last night, and it made me think of you. I hope you’re doing well out on the West Coast.” After that, don’t hide the fact that you’re on the job hunt. “What makes people unhappy is when you call them up and say you want a position at their company. Let them know you’re not leaning on them,” he says. “You should be calling them regardless of whether you want a job at their company. You want to go for the information—information leads to jobs,” he says. That could be anything from industry gossip to leads on companies that are growing. Sometimes, your contact will tell you to apply for a job online. “Say, ‘Absolutely, but who can I talk to to learn more about the opportunity?’ … [apply], but keep pursuing other avenues of access,” Asher says.

Talk to everyone—even strangers—about your job search.It’s crucial to log off your computer, get out of the house, and talk to people, face-to-face, about your job search. “Tell every single human being what you’re looking for, and ask ‘who do you know?’” says Asher. “When you start asking, the connections can be wacky.” Dog walkers, cab drivers, and hairdressers “are some of the best sources because they talk to a lot of people,” he says. “It’s all about information, not about power.” It’s important to look beyond your close friends for job leads, because they usually have the same knowledge as you, says Asher. So instead focusing only on your Facebook friends, try chatting up people in line at the coffee shop.

Politics / Part Time Job Cover Letter For Student Applicants by mrinfo(m): 10:20am On Jan 24, 2011
If you're looking for a student part-time job, you may think you won't need a cover letter because the job is "just" part-time. In fact, a well-written cover letter might get you the job. It shows you are willing to make an extra effort. In this article, you'll discover how to write a great cover letter for a student part-time job.

General Advice

You'll want to make sure your letter is just one page. The letter should focus on the essential details and not provide a lot of filler, especially in the case of a part-time position. You'll also want to address the letter to a specific person. Do not use "To Whom It May Concern." If you can't discover the name of the person, go ahead and write "Dear Hiring Manager."

Header

Every cover letter should start with a header that contains all your contact information. Include your cell phone number and email address in addition to your home phone and physical address. This header is usually on the upper left side of the page, but it can be centered. After the header, leave a space and then put in today's date. After another space, put in the name, title and address of the person you're writing to. This block should definitely be on the upper left side.

Leave another space, write your greeting and begin the actual letter.

Opening

The first paragraph is the most critical of the whole letter. It's where you state your strong interest in the student part-time job and lay out a reason for the reader to consider you for the position. Just because the job is part-time is no reason to be less enthusiastic or professional. You'll want to state your qualification for getting the job. Here's an example of what your opening sentence might be like: "As a student with a strong interest in an administrative career, I was very excited to learn of your opening for a part-time office worker." You'll want to combine your educational status with the job you're after. Let the employer know you're considering a career related to the part-time work.

If you are being referred to the job by an employee or a respectable person, definitely slip that name into the opening. That can be a powerful advantage.

Body

The body is where you go into a little more detail about why you'd be a good fit for the job. It's a good idea to mention punctuality and a stable work history, because many people don't seem to take a part-time job as seriously as full-time work. You can use a bullet list to mention experience and qualifications. Such a list might appear like this:

* Excellent school attendance record, have not missed a day this year
* Previously worked at Smith's Grocery
* Can provide good references from previous employers

Conclusion

Wrap things up with a final paragraph restating your interest in the job and mentioning how you can use it as a learning experience. Don't forget to thank the reader for the opportunity to apply to this student part-time job. And don't forget to check the letter for typos and errors before you send it out.

Business / How To Play The Marketing Game With The Big Guys by mrinfo(m): 5:36am On Jan 23, 2011
This is essentially a summary guide intended to spur more creative thoughts that will help you out market and outsell competitors that even possess deeper pockets than your organization has.

Lack of funds should not be a limiting factor. Lack of Creativity and adaptability are. What you require is the right people and the right environment and not necessarily huge reservoir of funds.

The Online Option
If you are going to outsmart and outsell other competitors to your business its high time you looked at the internet world. It still remains the most cost effective alternative to reaching out to potential customers and creating hype about your organization and its offerings.

Creative Collaboration
Once upon a time businesses fought each other and never entertained the thought of rubbing each others back. It never mattered that they may not be direct competitors. Today the smart thing to do is to have a plan of systematically getting marketing help from complementary business organizations to yours. A bookshop owner creates an enduring and mutually beneficial marketing agreement with a nearby theatre to display books from the bookshop that are especially relevant to films being shown. In return the theatre gets to display banners of showing movies at the bookshop.

Both benefit from the customer traffic to each organization. No one loses. Your situation can be made better with such deals just get more creative and look around with the mind to see opportunities.

Delivering the Wow! Effect
Service is a key fundamental to business growth and success. The customer involuntarily gets hooked and not ony comes back sends friends and family your way to do business with you. Everyday it is said with levity but actually the customer being loyal to your business is very important and cannot be achieved with the average service available everywhere.

Zappos is an example of an organization trying successfully to create a cult like following of loyal customers. The key test should be no matter what business you are in example selling shoes online if the customer needs a pair of shoes what option comes first to her mind.
It is called Occupying the First Position in the mind of your customers.

Sports / Taiwo Is Nigeria's Most Versatile Defender? by mrinfo(m): 11:56pm On Jan 22, 2011
Taye Taiwo may have proved that he can be useful in more than one defensive position, news that will be most welcome to current Super Eagles Chief Coach Samson Siasia. The other week Taye stood in as a central defender instead of the usual left back position he was accustomed to playing.

Taiwo fared well in the unusual position, much to the delight of French Ligue 1 analyst, Ross Mackiewicz, who submitted that the former Lobi Stars of Makurdi star is on the way into the class of quality defenders that can fit into any position the coach wants.

Mackiewicz stated in his post-match comments that Marseille’s victory on the evening could be adduced to the neat partnership Taiwo cut off with Senegalese star, Soulemane Diawara, as both defenders made the best of their pivotal roles in the heart of OM’s defence.
