Hello nairalanders! Is international relations (diplomacy) an advisable course to be studied in Nigeria? What are the job opportunities attached to it after graduation and how lucrative is it too? Please I'd love to hear your views and suggestions as regards this. Thanks.

Then probably the criminals in various Nigerian prisons too should be forgiven and made to repent since we all want to be mad in this country ![]() |
Public Defenders are lawyers paid and appointed by government to represent people who need the services of a lawyer but cannot afford to pay for the services. Many of people falsely Public Defenders are lawyers paid and appointed by government to represent people who need the services of a lawyer but cannot afford to pay for the services. Many of people falsely believe that such concepts only exist in foreign justice systems and only see them acted out in dramas and television series. Lagos State being a State with pro-active governments established the Office of the Public Defender in July 2000 to aid Lagos residents who have no access to justice and to reduce the number of people who resort to self help when the justice system seemingly fails them. These legal services range from legal advice to representation in civil or criminal cases. One of the major aims of the Office of the Public Defender is to ensure equality of rights across the classes- rich, middle class and poor; vulnerable members of the society like women, children, physically-challenged, retirees, victims of domestic violence and the aged. The OPD is a statutory body meaning it has rights to sue and be sued. It institutes and takes on all kinds of cases including Widow/orphan maltreatment and oppression; Enforcement of fundamental human rights; Dismissal from employment or retirement without payment of benefits; Deprivation of bail for an offence which is bail-able; Unlawful arrest or detention; Child abuse and neglect and all forms of domestic violence. The OPD also assists Non- Governmental Organisations in the fight against rape and other forms of domestic violence as these agencies may not have the political clout to pursue these cases till justice is attained. Before rendering assistance to people, the OPD considers the peculiar circumstances of the case, the social standing and living conditions of the individuals to ascertain eligibility for their services. It does not aid only the poor but people who are powerless on their own against people, institutions and authorities. The process for obtaining help from the OPD is simple. Nigeria is a dysfunctional state and it's on the edge of becoming a failed state. Can an American be killed like this in a foreign land? this is to show you that our government has failed in its major responsibility and has left the citizens on their own. Every man for himself and God for all. Nigerians! you need to wake up and hold your government responsible. |
This story is incomplete. Why did he kill her? What's the police report about the situation? |

The Minister of Information and culture Alhaji Lai Mohammed has reacted to the recent video clip that resurfaced showing the alleged kidnapped leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra by the Nigerian Army praying in Israel. According to the minister, “We Are Giving Israeli Government Days To Deport Nnamdi Kanu Back To Nigeria Or We Will Take A Harsh Action Against Them. The leader of a pro-Biafran separatist group in Nigeria was missing, prompting speculation as to his whereabouts on the eve of his trial on treason charges. Nnamdi Kanu, who heads the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) movement, has not been seen in public since troops were deployed to the southeastern city of Umuahia last year. Kanu, who wants a separate state for the Igbo people who dominated the country’s southeast, has been on bail since April and gone missing, prompting speculation as to his whereabouts on the eve of his trial. Nigeria Government officially declared IPOB a “terrorist organisation” in mid-September after violent clashes between the security forces and IPOB supporters. Members of the group were accused of attacking military checkpoints in Umuahia, which is the capital of Abia state. https://orientaltimes.co/2018/10/21/nigeria-will-attack-israel-fail-deport-nnamdi-kanu-24-hours-lai-mohammed/ |
Some pastors like Dr. DK Olukoya of MFM don't lay hands on their members before they fall. A single prayer point makes them fall and shake vigorously on the floor. How do u want to explain this? ![]() |
